If your a1c is too high?

If your a1c is too high? delay in WLS? karpouzian i have seen others with this concern you are right all docs are different in my case, i know my levels weren't great day of WLS but having high blood sugar/diabetes/insulin is one of the main health reasons many sleevers get WLS shortly after surgery - most peoples situations improve in my case - awhile after WLS, all my meds/insulin were gradually taken away good thoughts you won't have prob with doc - and your diabetes will also improve/go away!!!! good luck kathy

  6. Di Faniti to directly answer your question - how long after surgery could you eat bread???? my simple answer I don't know!!! my tummy hasn't found a food it doesn't like i never had a prob with bread i rarely have bread though, never Pasta i always have found it strange that some/many people have trouble eating this or that, i never had any trouble eating anything early PO (and even after) many many people say they can't tolerate eggs??? happily thats never been a problem for me I will enjoy an egg salad sandwich sometimes of course.............everything in moderation good luck kathy

    I thought I had support...

inarakatra i'm also sorry you are getting these conflicting signals from DH(?) "he doesn't think it will work - you won't lose it!!!!" if he has nothing good to say right now - oh well, you can't change that BUT - you can tell him not to be discouraging, mean, rude please don't 2nd guess yourself about having the WLS!!!! this procedure will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself, trust me many/most people on the board say that phrase i am giving him the benefit of the doubt and saying "i don't think he knows how mean he is being to you" try and explain your feelings to him PO hopefully/slowly he will come around who knows, stranger things have happened stand tall best of luck kathy

    People treat me different now

people treat me different now hi BunnyK anyone - clerk et el...... that treats someone different due to weight (either way) is just showing their ignorance you/anyone doesn't need them in their life unfortuanately these people are around ..................................... OMG 75 lbs down i knew i've been seeing less of you i have envied some people on this board that actually said they were always happy, out going self-confident, work et al prior to WLS (I was never in that group) besides their weight/health problem - life was good As OP have said in their different words......... ways you are being "treated" reacted to now - could be influenced by the better waves/vibrations you are sending you have successfully lost weight, feel much better about yourself those good feelings can't help but show/radiate these feelings/thoughts/changes made me "receive" people better - cuz i felt so great - they seemed nicer to me People have said they are no different than they were pre-WLS I AM a little different i am still "cute as a button" sweet as "pie" but now i am so much happier and healthier i feel better/confident et al about myself people can't help but respond nicely to that congrats on your weight loss 25 lbs til goal??????????? right around the corner!!!! holding the door open to the century club due to your weight loss - you don't have to "squeeze" in just walk through with your head held high take care bud kathy

    Sleep Study ... from Home...

inarakatra No I had to go to this psych ward - i mean "sleep center" spent the lllllllllllongest night of my life!!!! all hooked up like a martian - woke me up periodically, after i had dozed off for a few minutes!!! tests came back positive for sleep apnea added "plus" co-morbities enabling me to have WLS approved (worse is better?? ) being at goal i've stopped wearing my mask - but i should probably have the official test again to confirm i don't have sleep apnea good luck with your "test" luck with your WLS speedy, safe recovery too kathy

    Yes, so worth it ^^

Thatguy Welcome, Welcome & Welcome always great watching a newbie/guy go through this wonderful WLS!!!! You "younguns" are lucky to have this surgery when you are so young not like this old fart!!! LOL but..............better later than never you lost 110 lbs on your own - wonderful!!! take a bow i can see how smart you are by exercising and eating right prior to surgery (I always remind my DH how smart he is - after all, he married me!!! ) anyways..............36 lbs down in one week!!!! holy moly guy-----------great start you are off to a running start!!!! You are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life!!! enjoy the ride good luck kathy BTW I've heard it said .............. people who have gone out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings - well.... they have been shot for less
  11. hi Tex happy 3 year surgiversary!! love to see "people like you" that are at least 3 years old/young we all want your success!!!! continueing to do so great, enjoying life - couldn't be happier right???? in other words - good health and happiness after being sleeved your pictures/camera shots are a great idea!!!! love your new picture - and your before and after shots!!! unfortunately after one and a half years, i can't travel backwards and start taking pictures but.............i have actually found some shots of me over the past 10 years usually successful at running/hiding from the camera "mandatory" pictures taken with whole family over the years what a difference now!!!! new pictures/family event in October now i smile away!!!!! (can't help myself) continued good health and happiness through your longer life kathy congrats
  12. bigchange everything has to be put into perspective - i totally get it that you/or anyone else doesn't feel great about losing their hair 15 years ago - breast cancer/chemo got rid of all my hair for months BUT - hair loss was my main side effect like OP said hair will grow back never experienced vomitting i was nausious though but the other side effect of the chemo - is i am alive and well - here to tell you my story i know there are many others here that have gone through similar health "issues" if hair loss is the main "problem" in order to lose our weight and get healthy I say its worth it all bald is beautiful kathy

    NVS

lilmely08 being able to wrap a regular towel around you after shower - yep that's a great feeling that NSV made me so happy too!!!! i'm gonna "steal" your thread for a second since we're talking about being in the bathroom.....(towels et al).... NSV from a few weeks ago always went into large handi-capped toilet in stores/malls - large sized changing rooms too now - i use the average size "STALL" and average size changing room too!!!!! its the little things congrats to you and me too!!!!! ok guys, back to our regular scheduled program, already in progress kathy
  14. twsport congrats on starting your video blog i never thought of or would do a video blog (wouldn't want to see me on camera ) keeping track of your trip with the sleeve is great to do i NEVER kept records/measurements I regret that very much as with many things, whats done is done the next time i have this WLS i'll keep better records sounds like you are all prepared, getting psyched!!!! good luck on WLS next month kathy

gonnabeaskinny hey girlfriend i knew you would "snap" out of "it"!!!! glad you have your eyes wide open you are back on that wagon will successfully go forward good luck kathy
  16. ProudGrammy

    Need some help and support!

gonnabeaskinny hi newbie what's done is done you can't undo the past as others have correctly said, you have a brand new tummy it is still a little sore on the inside, and bloated you went through a lot of preparations for the WLS 5 days PO or for the next few weeks you will be on liquids/mush/soft - and eventually solids follow any and all NUT's directions.........ALWAYS as OP said, you must follow all rules - i'm sure you knew that prior to surgery - but it can be hard to always follow rules BUT you must follow the rules so you are successful - and at this early stage you can't/shouldn't eat (your NUT told you that) all of the above being said................ as OP said, you can call your NUT/surgeon - who hopefully will explain again the necessary measures you must follow you do need to hear all of the above, and future comments telling you you shouldn't do this again, and it wasn't a good idea the above being said.......... i/we still love you  you can give yourself 100 whips with a wet noodle as your "punishment" as i said, its done over with - learn from your mistake don't do it again, and get on with your wonderful trip into a healthier, happier, longer life i do see potatoe chips and shrimp in your future - not yet though, ok???? take care pick your head back up move forward good luck kathy

  19. unshackled OMG we all have physical problems here and there you've had WLS - then neck surgery, and lower spine surgery but when you/me see what people like you are going through - i'm ashamed to have complained about anything I hope you are feeling alittle better one day at a time OP comment about swimming is excellent - do you belong to a gym??? I also think that you need to worry about your immediate health issues concerning your neck and back the weight is coming off!!!! you "might" be having PT - maybe you can get a script for going somewhere that has a pool since this would be soooo beneficial for your situation now............it is important to get your Protein in, Water too are you seeing a NUT?? they might have suggestions to your protein situation BUT.......all in all, with all your physical problems you are dealing with - sounds like you are doing great with your weight loss i don't think at almost 3 months you should be drinking Protein shakes anymore (unless your your NUT told you to) 50 lbs down is terrific, really!!!! would i lie to you??? you are enduring a long healing process good healthy thoughts being sent your way good luck take care my friend kathy
  20. Im actually afraid to answer a question in here becauae people dont want to hear the truth Sweetcarol Hmmmmm i'm seriously kindof afraid to comment on your question when you/anyone asks a ? they need to tell the truth, to help you - for your benefit some people give an honest answer with no hint of being rude or stuff like that some people might unintentionally be harsher to get their point across you gotta remember we're all talking through a computer/monitor - we can't see peoples faces it is too easy to misunderstand something said - and it wasn't meant to be received in a bad way there are those "people" out there in "foodland" who kindof start "issues" and aren't that "sleeve friendly" with their answers I think those situations are far and few between even though i've seen similar comments like yours regarding to "being afraid of people on the board" i think most of us are good eggs - some are just more cracked than others give us another chance, ok???? OMG i just realized from your profile you have lost 123 lbs!!! holy moly girlfriend great job!!!! take care continued good luck kathy congrats
