Hot flashes after eating a meal?
ProudGrammy replied to ent4life's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
ent4life total 61 lbs pre-op & post op 6 weeks??? thats terrific not proud to admit this, but i have overeaten before and i have become very hot!!!! so, you are not alone!!! (not that helps you any) to the point i feel sooooo horrible not vomitting, but......... i felt awful/bad/ sick - i was all hot - felt terrible i actually laid down and fell asleep woke up in about an hour and felt fine no, i didn't eat again!!! luckily, this doesn't happen often keep up the great job/work you're doing wonderfully!!!! keep up the great job/work kathy -
mzblaze35 awwwwwwwwwwwh i'm sorry you are going through this you made the wise decision to have the sleeve don't second guess yourself now its true the first week + can/is very difficult i also had that feeling that something was stuck on an occassion at an early stage too!!! no fun you MUST drink very slowly since you are having trouble keeping liquids down - sip ever so slowly - take a break between sips its important to drink - you don't want to get dehydrated but..........drink slowly enough that you keep the Water down drinking alot, but vomitting it up, is no fun/or helpful don't know if you are full????? that feeling WILL happen as you progress with your food stages you will have that full feeling especially once you are on solids do you have a NUT???? she/he could advise you have you thought of finding a support group???? they can be great!!!! if you don't know of one.....call your local hospital (or dr.) they can direct you to a support group thats what happened to me even if you didn't have surgery locally - it can't hurt to call the local hospital and explain your situation nothing ventured, nothing gained they SHOULD be willing to help you the situations/problems you mentioned - unfortunately do happen to other sleevers too - so you are not alone give the sleeve more of a chance sounds like you don't have other problems/issues head up high - weight down low you are the road to a healthier, happier, longer life you might be taking a little detour now.......but you are the road to a healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy

I wish I hadn't seen this forum....
ProudGrammy replied to AmyInOrlando's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
AmyInOrlando it is best to know both sides of the coin, the good, the bad, and the ugly there are replies/comments to posts concerning complications during and after WLS its sad when you hear about these issues i/we sometimes feel guilty that our surgery experience has been so successful, while others had problems the posts that tell of hardships - stick out in your mind like a sore thumb but.............. the percentage of these problems compared to success are low many, many, many etc. people come here and within their replies/answers to a post they will exclaim how very happy they are, and how they had such an amazing recovery that being said - hopefully/probably all things to come for you will be good sleevers come to the board saying, "this is the best thing they ever did for themselves" you made the initial wise decision to have WLS don't second guess yourself good luck happy, speedy recovery kathy -

How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?
ProudGrammy replied to clk's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Hi Georgia you are right, that it must be hard to lose weight that you/anyone gains i only mentioned to OP that gaining 10-15 lbs like she did, wasn't "that" bad trying to make HER feel better but no way, will i follow those footsteps!!!! absolutely, positively, irrevocably, no doubt about it ----- NOOOOO intentions on regaining any weight (fluctuations of a couple lbs don't count) repeating - no weight gain - going back to the devil been there, done that - never again from my lips to God's ears!!!! maybe my over emphasis (per my DH) on not regaining et al is to reassure myself but for whatever reason - stands true best 4 letter word??? GOAL!!! kathy -
trenya07 Oh No!!! you can't give up!!! you are just starting first off - we never say the word "only" as in i "only" lost 20 lbs that is a lot of weight you have gotten rid of, nothing to sneeze about!!!! but IMO losing 20 lbs in 9 weeks is great keep doing what you are doing drinking, exercise et al 1,000 calories - "maybe" you are getting in too many calories at your stage in the game do you have a NUT than can advice you??? if not, keep comi back and read the boards we are not professional NUT's here but........... some of us are nuttier than others you will lose more weight!!!! i promise - really you will don't quit on your sleeve - and it won't quit on you  good luck kathy

Worried about recovery!
ProudGrammy replied to Ms.Nya's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ms.Nya like the 2 smart ladies before me said, - we all are different!!!! we recup differently some (like me) have no problems PO recovery - while others have "issues" there is no normal situation for OP after surgery sounds like you will be in the hospital a couple of days - then home for 2 days, then vaca some OP have had WLS on a "wednesday" - back to work/or "normalcy" on monday!!! but...........others might have certain normal issues/problems such as vomitting, gas, exhaustion remember (as if you could forget ) you just had major surgery 85% of your nasty tummy was cut out !!!! if this trip is paid for/airlines - no way to change vaca with work - sure go for it but...........if you can hold the vaca off for a couple of weeks...........i would do that happy WLS speedy recovery have fun on your trip kathy -
shelly22 i see you had surgery 6/18/13 - less than a week ago 11 lbs down - wonderful congrats being tired is common for many newbie sleevers right after WLS you should rest, give yourself a break, and let DH continue to spoil you!!!! we see to forget sometimes that we just had major surgery your tummy was cut up - and 85% was thrown out with the garbage - thats where it belongs maybe you should/could hold off on church and walmart et al til you get some energy back don't overdue hope you recovery moves along well good luck kathy
