Need advice and encouragement not ripped apart
ProudGrammy replied to lisalou1968's topic in The Gals' Room
@lisalou1968 glad you are realizing you need to make changes, lots to learn plenty of good info on these boards - ask your questions too knowledge is power work hard toward success - get more info from your group water was/and is the most important rule for me 64 oz H20/liquids a day never drink while you are eating NEVER eat until 30 minutes have passed do not drink 30 minutes before you eat good luck kathy -
@Jneal7752 add a few calories - ie 100 more or less. sounds crazy, - but it can help experiment, change a couple of foods, - get out of the same rut. (i say this with the fact that i have Fage yogurt for lunch everyday LOL ) -exercise do weights first and then cardio-or other way around. add different exercise too. main fixer upper to stalls are PATIENCE (easier said than done!!) but at the end of the day - 2 things you can be sure of - stalls and shitttttttt - these two shall pass kathy

10 days out and feel no restriction
ProudGrammy replied to Teresa Bernard's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
welcome newbie congrats on loosing 20 lbs, great start no one feels restriction with liquids only. once you start eating mush, purees', soft and the ever popular solids, you will feel the restriction that we love. all WLS will "assist" you in loosing the weight. you work with the sleeve, and it will work for/with you don't obsess over the scale. give yourself a break away from the "numbers" good luck kathy -

Loose jiggly skin -- what do I have to look "forward" to?
ProudGrammy replied to Born in Missouri's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@Missouri-Lee's Summit my tushie and thighs, all wrinkled, terrible as others have said, hubby said he could feel the difference at about 30 lbs!! rather have loose loose skin than fat any day of the week, and twice on Sunday!! kathy -

@Dr-Patient- hi there - remember me?? being honest with yourself, realizing you messed up - but now wanting to get back on track. you'll do it. Maybe go to basics again to push the weight loss. You know what to do, you did it before!! Success will be in your vocabulary again. I can feel it!! i fluctuate a little - but not bad - i try and eat slower than i did in my previous life!! drink and drink - i love water, never really exercised butttt,,, i eat "pretty" well, but screw up too, eat some stuff i should not eat., eat a little more than i should, but honesty is the best policy for me! All newbies, don't do my bad stuff. " Do as i say, not what i do" all and all, do well/maintain and a very happy camper 6+ years plus with my sleeve! that is my story and i'm stickin' to it!! good luck kathy

No pre-op diet... anyone else??
ProudGrammy replied to Dee_Rose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Dee_Rose my doc told me NO to pre-op liquid diet. Wish i did do liquids pre-op, would have given me a leg up on lbs before surgery. I vote, " get your head in the game" and start eating better immediately. Couple of weeks before WLS - do liquids only. good luck kathy -

I was suprised with sleeve surgery a week ago.
ProudGrammy replied to mmckimmey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@mmckimmey @Tealael speaks the truth!! Ding, ding, dong - @Tealael wins the blue ribbon the sleeve was initially designed for ulcer/stomach cancer. it worked very well. doctors noted that OP were loosing weight. Thus. the "invention" of the sleeve for WLS - sorry you had the WLS surprise. hopefully your rib, back pain have been alleviated. good luck kathy -
