    Tattoos

missybean so your body is a canvas huh my daughter had the "little mermaid" tattooed on her butttt 10 years ago she gained some weight - and the mermaid spppread when you lose weight, since your body is all of a sudden smaller - i would think the tattoo must look smaller proportional to the area (i think thats right) they will still look great i treated myself to my 1rst and last tattoo when i reached goal promised DH I wouldn't get another tattoo for the next 58 years M A E    The 3 above letters are the first initial of my precious 3 grand-kids (Morgan 13, Andrew 10, Ethan 6) small red heart under each letter on my right wrist happy tattooing good luck with WLS speedy recovery kathy

    Not doing so well

efeezell sorry you've been having problems having/doing this process can/is difficult sometimes some/many/most (me too) OP have also strayed on occassion i have an old picture of myself i will look at i never want to be that person again i don't keep any chips, Cookies, et al in the house if you want a jump start on a couple of pounds - do liquids/protein shakes for a couple of days then as others have said - do Protein, dense protein like chicken that will fill you up easier/quicker push the fluids remind yourself of how successful you've been so far you went through a lot to have WLS - you don't want to have done it in vain gotta work hard the ends justify the means!!!! get back on that horse, and ride em' cowboy i can see in your eyes the strength and determination you have you are on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life!!!! good luck kathy

How can I get her to tell me?

Ree i have been the "surpriser" - and the "surprisee" - didn't always work well things can backfire with the all of a sudden you hear - "here i am, surprise"" A couple of years ago i was a 57 year old retired fart that sat around the house all day nobody better pop at up 3:00 pm while i'm in my bath robe on the couch "with" Dr. Phil and my potatoe chips and dip (wouldn't be a good surprise) i really never had to worry about unexpected company (nobody really came over) now i'm a 59 year YOUNG fart!!! - tape doc phil for later if i have time to watch - and don't buy chips and dip!!!! if someone popped over now - i would be running around here and there and probably wouldn't be home - SURPRISE sis tell your sister you are excited to see her and your niece.. but you would appreciate/need/want/REQUEST a heads up concerning her arrival et al it would be nice if you could share your excitement/nerves about your upcoming WLS - or maybe when she comes you are already recuperating as OP correctly stated "you know your sister" if she has no intentions of listening to you, she sure isn't gonna listen to me either best wishes with your pending surgery have a nice visit with family good luck with that kathy

    Im sorry

Tbird49 i understand your very sad but true thoughts you/me/many/most us have had similar thoughts one time or another I/others have frequently felt sorry for their sad "situations" above being said.............. i'm so grateful and happy that i decided to forge ahead with major surgery to assist me in gaining my health and happiness back It took me awhile - but i realized i can't live in the past as many/most others on the board have said - "they wish they had done this surgery years ago" but..........we can't/shouldn't stay in the past - regretting our "old self" we can't change what has happened in years past i/we must live today - look forward for tomorrow - and be excited for the future i am sending you many, many, good thoughts, with a couple of nice huggs too I see a terrific new life knocking at your door good luck with your pending WLS, and your new wonderful healthier, happier, longer life kathy

    Post op excess skin.

sleeveforkayla it is NOT a must that you have plastics after you lose your weight you won't get arrested if you don't have cosmetic surgery i lost 105 lbs - reaching my goal i do have plenty of extra skin i "lost" my rear end so the skin is just kindof hangin' around same is true with my inner thighs and below my arms i had a tummy tuck about 15 years ago i "think" thats why my tummy didn't get big, rolls i also didn't/couldn't deal with the price "looks" like your still pre-op??? don't know for sure cuz you don't have a ticker or profile (hint, hint ) good luck bud kathy
  21. ProudGrammy

    smiles

Black Diamond was that you i saw doing cart wheels in the mall yesterday??? wonderful weight loss 3 cheers for you the doc did a test on your throat saying all is well but...............it it persists for quite a while go to the doc again!!! you/everyone needs to be aggressive about their health just because the doc says all is ok - it has happened that finally "they" say, "oh yes, i do see a prob" something like that i'm sure/hopefully all will be well sooner than later keep up the good work kathy congrats
  22. ProudGrammy

    discuraged

jamiewilli how could i ever "yell" at someone as nice as you???? also - "we" never use the word "only" you didn't only lose 35 lbs YOU LOST 35 lbs!!!! thats terrific you are right on target with your weight loss some people might have lost more than you, others less the one thing we all have in common is that we're all different you are sooooo early post op - your tummy is still healing please only eat soft food, maybe some solids too per doc/NUT you know you shouldn't be eating pizza, wings or stuff like that so i won't mention it the expression is............. just because you can, doesn't mean you should talk to your NUT/surgeon go to a support group where you'll meet other sleevers you know what to do and what NOT to do this surgery will/does work, as long as you follow the rules please don't sabatoge yourself now thinking, you've never had success before, so why now???? the reason now, is you have a helper in the sleeve your tummy is so little - its "supposed" to hold only a small amount of food you don't vomit if you eat too much????? many people don't don't push yourself to get sick i know you can do this - got to mentally tell yourself that "this time you will do it" you can and will do it!!!!! take care good luck kathy
  23. ProudGrammy

    New to site..

mzluv welcome most of us have been there, done that this is a wonderful experience follow all the rules that go along with the sleeve drinking, eating et al concentrate, focus on what you are supposed to do with info you get from your NUT/surgeon i see lots of determination in them those eyes lots of success is coming your way too you are in for the ride of a lifetime a few bumps here and there, but you'll do great take care good luck kathy
  24. ProudGrammy

    My stomach talks to me!

krislaw33 ahhhhhh man - was that you making that noise me/many/most sleevers have issues with burping after they eat you are perfectly "normal" (well, maybe ) it can be embarrassing when you burp or whatever or from the "other end too" (TMI?) i would be watching tv in the living room and DH did hear me down the hall!!!!! we would both laugh!!!! good luck kathy
  25. ProudGrammy
