E2013 phewwwww what a story insurance/doctors/waiting et al - what a pain you finally made it to the other side and all looks great bummer about having to take a 2 hour trip for WLS, and follow ups i can tell you realize that its all worth the extra "mile" doing great on prep for your eating and drinking... sounds like you have everything under control especially your mindset - which is 1/2 the battle!!! glad you've enjoyed reading all the posts these 7 months can't to see how you tell US things too December 19th WLS!!! thats just one day after December 18th here before you know it!!! remember PO drink slowly, sips, sips - as much as you can concentrate totally on drinking so you don't get dehydrated (which does happen) don't worry that much about getting in all your Protein that will come soon enough drink your protein shakes, that will do it!!! good luck speedy recovery kathy

    Sleep Study Requirement?

sandi i "respectively "disagree that making you have a sleep study test is a waste of time I also don't think your primary makes money from you taking the test my main thought/comment - is doc shouldn't have waited til last minute to tell you "all of a sudden" you need the test - thus delaying surgery DH sleeps like a "baby" too but.....he has sleep apnea - would never have known unless he was tested for your health it is better to know and "treat" the situation some people put their head in the sand, don't want to be bothered by the equipment, but it is beneficial to wear it, and as OP (nurse said - you can have heart issues crop up et al) sounds like you were approved by insurance without having sleep apnea but.....Sleep Apnea is considered a co-morbitity that helps insurance decide iif they will pay for WLS that comment/info is for others sorry for the delay of surgery btw i HAD sleep apnea as with many others - losing 105 lbs GOAL - i no longer have sleep apnea good luck with that and surgery speedy recovery sweet dreams kathy

    Depression Setting In.

doctor told me that I am going to fail i can't get over that your doc said those discouraging/nasty words!!! what a jerk you can't change him - but you will continue to change!!!! 58 lbs in six months!!!! you are doing great, really!!!! i always "heard" that losing about 10 lbs per month is average/terrific some people lose more - some lose less Never, ever compare your weight loss to anyone elses people have been shot for less i know you will be another success story i know it!!!!! I see the determination in your eyes you are definitely NOT a failure!!!! you made the wise decision to comit yourself to having major stomach surgery i know you are continueing to eat and drink properly old habits die hard don't defeat the weight loss, by being sad - and then eating to comfort yourself!!!! stalls are a bitchhh - but many/most/all of us have them take care hun I will succeed, I will succeed, i will succeed keep saying that whenever you have any doubts congrats on your 58 lb weight loss woohoo good luck huggggggs kathy

    Need Some Encourgement

Ashley WooHoo 2 days down you are sounding great yes pre-op liquids can be hard - but it will be over before you know it I've got my eyes on you!!! doc likes to see you can follow rules now - to prove that you can be successful and complient FOREVER!!! then comes the wonderful surgery remember, a "few" aches and pains frequently occur - but...........things usually turn out well you are on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life good luck speedy recovery kathy
  25. ProudGrammy

    Need Some Encourgement

Ashley "they" say the pre op liquid diet can be extremely hard, taxing my doc didn't require it, so i was "lucky"??? you "probably" know the reason doc wants you to lose weight pre WLS, it helps shrink the liver, making the procedure easier losing a few lbs now means you don't have to lose them after the fact anxious, scared, nervous???? all very common emotions many/most/all pre sleevers et al experience long term effects are wonderful - no more diabetes, high blood pressure, cpap all gone!!!! how great is that!!!! anything that made me calmer pre op??? NO!!!! LOL calmer - just the excitement that i know i'm beginning my new healthier, happier, longer life 99.9999% I believe that #is close, have minor/no complication - hopefully, like myself, you will have no problems it is good your head is not in the sand, and you are aware that things can go wrong don't second guess your wise decision on having the WLS - you sound very happy about having the procedure Failure???? not an option!!! follow alllll the rules no drinking with meals drink at least 64 oz of Water don't drink for about an hour after you eat eat and chew slowly and thorougly!!!! eat dense Protein first veggies always measure your food good idea to keep track of each bite you put in your mouth by using MyFitnessPal or something else that you can count calories/protein/carbs et al sticking to the above plus more you will lose the weight!!!!! i have complete confidence in you i can see you are a smart "cookie" take care good luck speedy recovery kathy
