Nervous...hosting a Xmas Party Tonight
ProudGrammy replied to Memily's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
worried of all of the temptations that will be brought into our house. I already told my husband any left over pretzels need to find a way home with a friend or in the trash tonight Memily holiday parties, et al they are/can be hard for some/many/ME!!! you are so early in the game, so it/situation "might" be easier for you reason i say that is at 3 weeks out, i know i wouldn't/shouldn't eat most anything you are serving in any quantities People have been shot for less you are on pureed/softs???? sounds like you are already planning ahead by getting rid of excess food throwing pretzels in the trash???? ummmm - i threw cheese danish in the trash before, and it somehow they "jumped out" don't you hate it when that happens next time i through stuff out, i put dish washing detergent on it - not even i would eat that!!!! be the great hostess i know you are you have family and friends for a party!!!! pass out/serve food to others - make pleasant conversation, you know what to do easier, said than done, but TRY not to be tempted/or even think too much about how yummy that cookie will taste make a plan to have something in your hands at all times if possible (glass of Water with lemon)??? not a great substitute for other stuff, but oh well raising my glass of water to your strength & willpower, determination!!!! i have confidence in you you DID make one mistake already you forgot to invite me good luck kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to xmarycontraryx's topic in Food and Nutrition
xamry luckily you caught yourself on that step i don't think you slipped enough to regret WLS you made the wise decision to have the surgery, don't second guess yourself now get back to work - show your strength and determination i know you have!!! great comments from the above "wiseWOMEN" (appropriate with the holidays ) i agree with all - can't add anything different so i won't "little" hijack to say............. trying to say this right....... above posts shows that things can be said nicely, with tough love, but gently spoken, without harsh "reference" some of you know what i mean (hope its ok that i brought this up pizza is a common joke on the board - cuz some/many of us want to eat it and months done the line you can have that slice, buttttttttttttt for now i'm slapping your hand good luck kathy -
full feeling after 3 or 4 bites. I'll stop for a few minutes and have another bite or two and I'm full again this will continue for 35 to 45 minutes. Is this to long? Joe I'm a "sleevie" myself all us (lapband et al) have the common bond of having to eat slowly and chew thoroughly Yes, i do think you are taking too long too eat my NUT also told me to eat my meals within 30 minutes eat as your tummy allows, take breaks, but be done within that time period, or so talk to your NUT about your eating thoughts/situation - he/she should be able to advice you terrific on your weight loss i was opening the door to the century club, and you "sneaked" through!!!! keep up the great job (i know you will ) good luck kathy congrats

I'm such a waste of money eater now...
ProudGrammy replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
waste of money going out to eat marfar7 don't have a list of places - cuz DH and i are/were pretty boring "going out to eat" people we would go to friendly's, outback, red lobster, stuff like that last year was my 1rst t'day at goal i decided going to a brunch, where you get your own food would be a good idea for me i am a picky eater, and theres a bunch of junk i don't like i paid $21.95 for that meal!!!!! eating as little as i did, sure wasn't worth the money but.............. got special "permission" to get a container to go and even get more from the 'food table" i filled up the container with llllllots of roast beef, turkey - lasted so long i finally had to toss it dh says i am now a cheap date - he's right!!!! able to feed a 3rd world nation emptying fridge..... gotcha, know exactly what you mean, and its so sad - there are starving people in my own backyard and all around the world "they" never told me/us the money we save on going out to eat, we spend on new clothes kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to Robert Angel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Robert Angel nice to see you glad you dropped in for some help/support many (me) have slipped off the wagon on a "rare" occasion there are several "pizza" jokes here that are "seriously" asked ie - 4 day poster will say I just had 2 slices of pizza was that ok, do you think i hurt my sleeve?? 4 months PO you have done terrific being down 80 lbs its good that you realize you shouldn't have had those 3 slices of pizza - in 20 minutes too!!! OMG little shaken up, feeling little guilty - go with those feelings, really!!!! that will help you/me/us to stay focused and on plan - drink our Water, all that good stuff we must follow you are aware and know that you must get back on that wagon "eyeopeners" can be good - sounds like it helped you whenever you think of doing 3 slices of pieces - KNOCK IT OFF!!!! GET OVER IT!!! for me and possibly others, weekends can be harder than during the week no good help on that, except trying to stay busy maybe tie your hands behind your back!!! its good you are tracking et al now hear me loud and clear!!!!! no more large silly amounts of any food, or you'll have to face me!!!! btw come around the neighborhood more often on a sunny/rainy/cloudy/and day kathy -
