    *Gastric sleeve diet* (without surgery)

Maccurdyerica I really really don't think anyone meant to be mean/or rude they are just saying their experiences/situations that losing weight is very hard people ask me what is my plan i follow with the sleeve i tell them basically the plan is everything a "normal" person should be doing drinking lots of Water, exercising, eating much smaller amounts, be aware of what you are eating not a bad idea for all to keep track of their eating no real secret "diet" here but..........after you lose the weight Maccu - the sleeve continues to "help" you you need to continue all the "rules" for the rest of your life I "think" everyone is just trying to explain "nicely" to you that they/i have lost weight all our lives - just to regain it the maintenance part of the sleeve can be/is very hard but it can be just as hard reaching goal with a regular diet - hopefully not regaining after all my years of yo-yoing - the sleeve was my last resort because i couldn't keep it off again saying the sleeve is not magic in itself i will always have to work with the "assistance" of the sleeve to never, ever regain!!!! i feel since i had the sleeve/and i will continue to follow the rules, i won't regain for my healths and my sake, i can't afford to gain if/when you lose the 100 lbs you want to - good for you good luck with all happy holidays kathy

nesa83 newbie - welcome home from the hospital you are officially on the road to a heathier, happier, longer life!!! as OP, "broth IS just a liquid alternative" as long as you are getting in your liquids - you are good to go popsicles are considered a liquid too - and they are yummy take care (you too Teachamy) plenty of rest et al speedy recovery kathy
  9. laners777 oh no - who said something mean to you bud?? you didn't deserve it!!! you've done so well these past months!!! but.............when things get upsetting/problems et al your/my brain can go backwards trying to tell you eating those one or two cookies couldn't possibly hurt easier said than done, but if you give in to the jerk that was mean to you/or any problems - by eating poorly then "they" win!!!! ahhhh ha they can think woo hoo, got the best of her, now she's gonna eat - boy did i win!!! you have done so wonderful don't give in to whatever is going on (boyfriend situation?? or whatever) you've lost 82 lbs!!!!! thats terrific try not to let someone/something bring you down i know personally too that its easier said than done take care good luck kathy congrats

    Life post sleeve

"buy the sports bra" hunter OMG - I didn't realize/see i was in the guy's room didn't see your handsome face in the pic i'm sorry for my comment (#2 above) many women have your same "situation" i thought you were a Lisa/Mary or Joan!!!! not a tom, fred or bill still friends??? you have done amazing with your weight loss of 89 lbs keep up the good work happy holidays kathy congrats
  12. lost 64 lbs - still have major self esteem issues. had that problem my entire life Bella66 Ahhhhhh you look like the bell of the ball in your lovely pic Losing weight helps "us" with our health issues we always will look better while we are losing weight but. personal situations like self-esteem, confidence - these are things/problems you/others mght have to work on weight loss can't automatically "fix" all/some of our problems that we've had all our lives just like us having all that "excess" weight all our lives, it doesn't come off overnight - takes lots of work confidence issues you've/we've/some have always dealt with that have been around all our lives also won't improve immediately without some work speaking for myself - I never knew what a lack of self-esteem, confidence i had............ until time passed, feeling and looking so much better i was dong stuff i would never have ventured to do before WLS you've lost weight fantastically i hope you "gain" some confidence et al you look terrific be proud with your pretty head held high good luck happy holidays kathy congrats

    My 26th Bday

Part of me wants to have a few drinks, Celebrate, show off my new self (haha) but then I know I really shouldn't. Robert which side is winning??? you'll be pushing about 4.5 month po on your b'day - right??? few drinks???? IMO - I don't think you should you need to check with your doc to see when he even allows alcohol again if he approveds you for a drink, go for it!!!! how often do you have a b'day anyways but............be careful you are now 80 lbs less (by your b'day maybe a few more lbs down) your body can't handle as much alcohol without you possibly feeling a little 'tipsy' earlier than before cuz you are so much smaller now gotta be extra careful - cuz there are girls out there that might want to take advantage of your situation!!!! happy birthday guy have a wonderful day - enjoy the company/night out with your friends maybe allow yourself one drink then........... "maybe" settle for a glass of Water with a lemon in it people won't know what you are drinking good luck 80 lbs down great weight loss kathy congrats

  16. SandeeD good for you not going crazy on your vitiamins/gummies et al i would have no problems with gummies - cuz i don't like them but............... many years ago on one of my weight loss attempts i took some sort of chocolate "chewy" was suppose to suppress your/my appetite as you might have figured out, since they were chocolate - i loved them, and ate too many all the time!!!! suppress your eating/cravings?? I don'ttttttttttt think so good luck kathy

cubbies76 hmmmmm 27 lb weight loss - thats great - what more could you ask for??? maybe having a 98 lb weight loss good for you holding the door for you to enter the century club always room for one more smiling face yep keep those profiles and tickers coming/updated hint hint to others seeing the movie Mr. Banks with Tom Hanks et al my 83 year old mom has told "us" no more sad movies sometimes hard to find a good comedy (not a stupid crazy one) this looks good - not total comedy, which works for me - "little" more serious side too??? keep up your ggggggrrrrrrrrrreat job (i know you will ) good luck kathy congrats

I ate a piece of pizza last night..... And I liked it!

hmmmmm below is a condensed version of what i said in post #7 l "great comments from the above "wiseWOMEN" (appropriate with the holidays )" above posts shows that things can be said nicely, (referring toposts #1-6) with tough love, but gently spoken, without harsh "reference" some of you know what i mean (hope its ok that i brought this up good luck kathy new comments for what its worth......... i believe in all my fellow sleevers et al, think you say things in a helpful/supportive way i go along/believe in tough love too but, i can't help but find my above post (#7) posted a little humerous after reading some of the other posts hope i said that right no one jump on me ok, you know i love you all and you are my BFF's!!! just a comment kathy
  21. gg wish my sleeve didn't tolerate foods like bread, potatoes, sweets et al but it doesn't mind any food i was having a whole scrambled egg within a month i hear sooooo many people say they could only eat about 1/2 an egg - or couldn't tolerate it at all i had a few bites of a sweet potatoes maybe twice when we went out delicious, no problems but I don't miss potatoes - so i don't buy them i will have an Arnold Sandwich Thins (bread) a couple times a week for lunch the sandwich thin is yummy looks like a bagel - pre-cut i pop it in toaster, put my tuna or egg salad on, ummmmm ummmm good my tummy loves chicken, thats a good thing cuz i love it back in my whole 2 years being PO, i can count on one hand on how many times i vomitted might sound like a weird comment glad i don't have to deal with the excessive vomitting many go through i can only imagine how horrible/difficult that must be but......a little puke once in a while would be accceptable to remind me not to do eat this or that again i feel like i have to frequently work harder not to eat something because my tummy allows me to eat it, but i'd rather/shouldn't eat as expression goes just because you can, doesn't mean you should kathy

    Coffee?

#hashTag# as "we" on the board always/should say - all docs are different check/ask your doc or NUT - they will tell you if/when you can have coffee - maybe decaf for me, i was allowed coffee at 2 months there have been other threads discussing issues of coffee not trying to get rid of you but go to the search area on top of your screen, and put in the word coffee when i am out and about i enjoy going through the drive through and grabbing a refill and my small NSV i never ask for a donut, and i'm ok with that no profile/ticker hint, hint so i can't tell what stage you are in "sounds" like you are still pre-op...........or maybe very early PO??? so,,, either good luck with WLS - speedy recovery, or keep up the good work!!! or i'll just say - continued good luck with life kathy
  23. ProudGrammy

    NSV!

cnb can totally relate - yes it is a great feeling pretty safe to say that most - all of us here had that common new years resolution that this WILL be the year i lose the weight you've done great with your weight loss/accomplishments/goal!!!!! 175 lbs down, gone, gone, gone down the toilet - FLUSH how terrific are you maintaining goal these past few months - and for the rest of your life i am looking into the future - and i see many/most of us losing lots and lots of weight approaching goal et al but mainly and wonderfully, people feeling so much healthier and happier keep up the good work kathy congrats
  24. meamo woo hoo!!!! surgery went well!!!! start drinking that Water and walk around get to work!!!!! "focussed" anxious to work out too?? you sound and look so happy look at you on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life continued wonderful recovery good luck kathy

    hiccups and burping

lady OMG was that you last night making that sound??? i am sorry your tummy hurts - luckily i didn't have that issue hiccuping et al is verrrrrry common post op the first few weeks i was shocked/loud about my hiccups it slowed down considerably within a couple of months but at 2 years it does happen if a eat a teeeeeeny bite more than i should you might hear that some other people get runny noses i never understood that one, but it happens, just like the hiccupping this too shall pass!!!! I just realized you are a newbie at 4 days PO not being able to drink that much Water happens it can be hard to drink but you gotta push the fluids to stay hydrated fluids at this early stage is even more important than protein (Protein will come later, soon) take slow sips, sip and sip some more warm/room temperature water works for many things do get better one day at a time!!!! "god grant me patience, just hurry up about it " continue to feel better while you enjoy the wonderful ride to a healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy
