ProudGrammy replied to Ree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ree your success doesn't sound little to me!!!! you are doing terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrific 27 lbs lost since pre-op 24 lbs lost since surgery ! BMI down 10 30.5 inches gone too!!!! Holy Moly!!!! WooHoo party dance party dance keep up the good job (i know you will ) kathy congrats -
maybe you are not weird lol... or maybe we both are! nhaze101 and icoll i think you both are weird only kidding guys i have heard others on the board being "concerned, worried" surgeon didn't take out enough of tummy i doubt that happened to you or anyone but i do understand you being scared things will work out, and you'll realize you are "missing" 85% of your tummy when you are only drinking - you don't feel any restriction not having trouble drinking, - thats great!!!! many people do have problems holding liquids down many many many others (like me) never had an issue don't go looking for trouble by saying "hmmmm, why am i ok drinking lots"? be happy as far as not feeling restriction............. you will get that restricted feeling once you start eating solids continued luck to both of you kathy

bosslady14 i doubt you are doing anything wrong u look like a smart cookie i bet you are following all the rules watching your calories, carbs eating slowly, measuring protein first not drinking about 1/2 hr before meal not drinking w/meals not drinking for up to 1 hr after you eat drinking at least 64 oz the only thing we have in common is that we're all different!!!!! people lose different amounts of weight in all types of time periods weird things can happen when "we" get discouraged (eating) Knock it Off!! you are doing great 52 lbs - down, down, and down, FLUSH keep up the good job "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" kathy congrats

Yet another stall post :-(
ProudGrammy replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
11 weeks out - down 32 lbs Lynn Oh my goodness so many questions, so little time!!!! "they" say losing an average of 10 lbs per month is good so..........32 lbs in 11 weeks IS great!!!! the one thing "we" have in common is that we're all different!!! that being said, i hear mmmmmany others say their boobs are deflating don't worry about what the other guy loses, concentrate on yourself, ONLY I've heard that "your" hormones definitely can get affected - thus a change in your cycle some people stop having a period all together - others have it longer - others, shorter stalls happen to many/most people - don't worry, they too will pass you will get over this and other hurdles you are doing fine, really good luck keep up the good work kathy congrats -
Pre-Op Liver Diet. Dana, never heard of a pre-op diet called "pre-op liver diet" but what is in a name??? of course the pre-op is to lose weight, and make the liver smaller so the surgery is easier for the docs to perform as with many things, you'll find............. "the one thing we all have in common, is that we're all different"!!!! my surgeon didn't require pre-op diet i've heard others have it for a few days or a week - or maybe like you, 2 weeks!!!! "glucerna" shakes 5x a day that is alot to drink!!!! but you can do it!!!!! i know you can I "think" many/most people are told to have clear liquids for X amount of days prior to surgery liquids will/should become your "friend " after surgery, you will be only on liquids for awhile per your surgeon your tummy will be healing shortly after, you are supposed to "down"/drink 64 oz of Water a day march is the best month for sleeve surgery good luck speedy recovery kathy

Sarah hey girlfriend i'm saving a spot for you - keeping it nice and warm glad you are doing so well you "might" have a few ups and downs thats common, so don't worry hopefully/probably, any problems will improve daily and things will continue to get better and better see you at the Water fountain i'm buying kathy

Sleeve weight loss times?
ProudGrammy replied to Llunker's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
approximate times in months as to how much weight lost vs. Time in months it took you to get there Llunker since you are asking a general time period..concerning your possible weight loss....... i will say give the initial losing process of 6 months you will probably lose a substantial weight loss that is considered the "honeymoon" period where most people lose alot of weight immediately after the surgery everyone through these first 6 months, and the many months to follow lose weight at their own pace remember....the one thing we all have in common is that we're all different" this should be achieved as long as you follow all the eating and drinking et al rules i lost 94 lbs within the first 9 months - then at one year i was down 105 lbs and GOAL as everyone else correctly pointed out you must work very hard for the rest of your life living with the sleeve - doing things correctly "you work with the sleeve, and the sleeve will work with you" you might have a bumpy road, ups and downs, but mainly good wonderful things will happen hmmmmm, am i talking about your new life with the wonderful "sleeve" ??? or am i talking about your wonderful new life with your soon to be DH?? i think they are one in the same I see a great future for you enjoy the ride to a healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy congrats -

kate and heather welcome, welcome, welcome I can tell you are both smart Cookies you chose the sleeve didn't you?? always nice to have more smiling faces i know you guys are so excited to be enterring the wonderful world of sleeveland you might have different emotions as surgery approaches happiness, excitement, nervousness - but all is good, and most of us have been there done that too!!! you've taken "that" first step towards a healthier, happier, longer life!!!! good for you good luck kathy -
Jls93001 hi newbie welcome to sleeveland I've often said to myself..... "self." ..how do sleevers handle being around family/kids et al all those yummy smells in the kitchen some people even having to make food for their family!!! its just me and hubby - and hubby always "fends" for himself in the kitchen/eating (he needs to lose weight, but doesn't want to bother!) thats another issue, other day good for you tolerating the smells - even though your meals consist of popsicles and isopure, for now food will improve soon - but those nasty yummy food odors will always be their I know you will "rise above" it though enjoy your vogage towards a healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy

My Surgeon does not require 2 week pre op liquid diet?
ProudGrammy replied to VegasGuitarGuy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Vegas (baby ) you are off to a great start getting prepped up for WLS weining yourself off coffee, drinking if you want to continue with "DO's and Dont's" - practice important Water issues do not drink water for 15 - 30 minutes prior to eating never ever, ever drink with your meals!! (people have been shot for less ) wait 45-60 miutes after you eat before you drink again drink at least 64 oz of water a day like you mentioned all docs have different rules the one thing they all have in common, is that "they" are all different February 24th will be here before you know it you'll probably have many different emotions before surgery being happy, scared, excited, all that good stuff don't worry, this is all normal good luck on your journey to a healthier, happier, longer life speedy recovery kathy
