Surgery & New JOB offer
ProudGrammy replied to butterfly2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Butterfly2014 glad you did the smart thing and told your new office you were scheduled for surgery one month after you start the new job sounds good that you have a sign from the recruiter that hopefully/probably all will go fine with time off they "shouldn't" ask you what kindof surgery you are having, butttttttttttt if you feel the need to simply say "personal" issues, something like that, should satisfy them about a question they really don't have a right to ask good luck with the job fingers and toes are crossed boy do i look funny dream job, followed by a dream WLS - what more could one ask for?? best luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy Surgery & New JOB offer -
oh ohhhhhhhhhh sorry men i guess i took a wrong turn and accidently ended up in the guy's room go back to whatever you were talking about don't mind me waving goodbye have a good day kathy

ProudGrammy replied to mrslosing2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
mrslosing2014 first off............ i see this is your first post!!!! you took the official "brave" step to show yourself to us see - wasn't hard, was it some insurance companies do take their "sweet" time in replying if your insurance/work covers WLS and you fortunately/unfortunately have many co-morbities you will "probably" be approved thats just my opinion you "could" call the insurance company they might tell you something is in the mail maybe even tell you if you've been approved don't take my word for it i made a mistake once i thought i was wrong hope you hear good news sooner than later fingers and toes crossed kathy -

MoonShun some/most/all of "us" sleevers are nervous/scared/excited/anxious all these emotions are normal hopefully /probably you will wake up !!!! 99.99999% of people have no/minimal problems but you should feel better daily most people do have some pain immediately after surgery gas issues are very common - but walking helps that issue "try" and calm down/and get some sleep tonight sweet dreams thinking about your new, healthier, happier, longer good luck speedy recovery kathy

Anyone due in a couple of days?
ProudGrammy replied to manaia84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
manaia84 I was "due" 38 years ago with my baby!!! all went well oooooops - thats probably not what you meant!!!! "almost immediately" after surgery you should be up and around walking slowly in the "halls" of the hospital many/most people have gas - walking will help that as soon as you feel up to it, a little more walking is good i don't know about walking 3 miles right away start off slowly, always listen to your body, how "it" feels if you are getting tired/weak - don't push it you just had major surgery tummy is going to be healing for awhile so watch it!!! if you are feeling fine/good/no problem - walking is always a great excercise some people feel well enough to go back to work within a day or two your doc will tell you when you can do more "official" activity good luck speedy recovery kathy -
hey tex, your success doesn't sound silly at all shopping/new sizes is one of the greatest NSV's you/me/we all have nothing like going into a store (ie JC Penny's) and buying "normal" size clothes not having to buy plus sizes (where i used to live ) you're soooooooo close to onderland i'm getting goose bumps for you keep up the good job kathy congrats

Lap Band or Gastric Sleeve?
ProudGrammy replied to EnergyTank's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
lap band or gastric sleeve EnergyTank I am biased because i have the sleeve i have happily been in "sleeveland" for 2+ years i have heard that the lapband is becoming extinct my dr and many other docs don't/won't even perform the lapband there is a thread called band to gastric sleeve revision what does that tell you?? many people have had problems with their lapband erosion with the lapband et al lapband had to be removed "lappers" please don't be mad at me, just stating my thoughts"" then people usually/frequently will get the sleeve me/many/most sleevers here never had any complications there can ALWAYS be complications with any surgery but.....i think 99.999999% of people (like me) had no major issues post surgery i can see you are a smart cookie, and will hopefully make the correct decision to have the sleeve good luck guy kathy -
frustrated and upset
ProudGrammy replied to caracream's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
caracream hold the phone don't give up so quickly i've seen many people appeal their decision successfully or at least have insurance pick up some of the cost the above co-morbitie suggestions that Miss Mac gave "above" are great!! get your doc to sign off on as many as you might have (sadly in this case for approval, the more issues/problems you have, the better chances you will be approved by insurance) good luck kathy -

Feel great but not losing
ProudGrammy replied to kcipriano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
kcipriano you/me/we are NOT allowed to say the word "ONLY" as in i "only" lost X amount of weight people have been shot for less each lb is a victory glad you are healing nicely - feeling good down 12 lbs after 3 days thats great!!!! i don't think you should call "your situation" a stall!!!! continue to follow all the rules (I know you will ) eating so few calories - it isn't possible not to lose weight never compare your weight loss to others the thing we all have in common is "that we're all different!!!" good luck kathy "God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It!!! " -
So scared, someone calm me down
ProudGrammy replied to AuntieLala83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Splatt83 glad you were healing so nicely to me that says when you are over this cold you hopefully will go back to your "normal" recovery process when you have to cough - hold your side that will/should give you some support coughing and sneezing Knock it off!! drink plenty of liquids rest up, take it easy!!! no cleaning!!!! call me - i'll scrub the toilets!!!!! remember you just had major surgery probably/maybe walking around the mall isn't a good idea for now doesn't help your situation not to mention i don't want your germs!!!! hypochondriac - "morbid concern for ones health" - don't think thats you you have valid pain/concerns my side/incisions hurt for about 3 weeks i had to change my position at night, sleeping on my other side think your side pains will then be alleviated per your request........... i'm assuring you that you and your cold will be better in a week or so gotta give things time to heal it gets better everyday as the used car salesmen would say.......... "would i lie to you??" feel better kathy -
Lindsayloo if you are reading this and haven't had surgery yet - raise your right hand if you are reading this and have had surgery - raise your left hand if you are reading this and you don't know the right answer - raise both hands hope all is going well post surgery remember to walk as much as possible to get rid of that nasty gas sip, sip your Water you are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life speedy recovery kathy
