  1. @hap314ness KNOWLEDGE is POWER!! knowing the problem is half the solution!! you know the issues/prob - take the ball and run with it!! cliches' but true. you are definitely on the right track!!! i don't believe in the "food police" - but if you want, pretend i'm watching you like a fly on a wall.!! (pllllease don't swat me!!) Watch those portions carefully - i know you can. Put the desired/correct portion on your plate - no more, and forget about 2nd portions (remember, i'm peaking!!) keep up the good work good luck kathy

    Here we go

hey dude your long wait is over - congrats - surgery is done - forever journey ahead drinking plenty of water, watching proteins etc always But i KNOW you will be yet one more success in our "small" group, getting smaller and smaller by the minute😉 healthy, good recovery let the games begin!! kathy
  3. hey bud wow - look at those NSV's!!! I'm sure you have many more too!! Make a special icon on your desktop to keep records of all your NSV's. ( ie the 1rst time you wore a smaller clothes size) you will see all your accomplishments and should be proud!!!🤗 Many OP go through different rough spots on their journey. Might gain a little too - but try not to upset yourself - causing you to possibly eat like the "good ol' days" (conflict in terms)!! Sounds like you still need to weigh your food - that way you can't / shouldn't overeat. Or keep a tally of how a much a portion/calories for foods you eat a lot. IE a certain chicken dinner. it is hard when you don't see that bloody scale move - but you know the drill about stalls - their a bummer, but we must deal with them. Don't weigh yourself daily for awhile. then you won't see any possible fluctuations. I get that that you are scared and frustrated now!! But you know where you were - where you are now, and where you want to go. I know you can get back on that horse - might be a little hard at this point - but you can, you can!! btw - i'm almost 7 years sleeve PO - going strong weighing in this morning .9 of a lb over goal. Also i'm still cute as a button LOL good luck bud kathy

Yummm Yummm - i fluctuate at maintenance - if i gained 5-10 lbs - i couldn't stop myself - it would be so easy to for me to go back to old ways. lbs. WOULD add on and on immediately!! Can't go there!! So, i also fight the good fight, and i'm winning. but i have to work hard!! good luck bud - you always do great!! Who luvs ya baby??? 😉 kathy

Alex, New Santa Letter For This Year

@Elce all the above sad problems - need to be addressed/dealt with, FIXED. Poverty tops my list! too! The horrible/constant shootings/murders- are unfortunately the new norm for the younger generation. ( ie my grand-kids and yours) They don't know any different world😧 kathy

    I want to go home!

@Swanton_Bomb hi newbie i understand how awful/bad/lonely it must be in the hospital. Missing hubby/dog. You've been there a long time!! IV's, blood pressure cuffs, getting woken up to check vitals!! How rude is that!! LOL You must be having extra problems that you are in hospital so long😫 You will/do always have to drink, drink and then drink some more forever and a day! 64 oz.+ You must stay hydrated. There are other rules you must follow too, maybe not always enjoy them - but you are starting a new lifestyle towards better health and a new lighter you!! Feel better, go home - and enjoy your journey of a life time!! You'll have ups and downs, but in the long run - things will be worth it. btw - after you are home for awhile - sneak back into the hospital one night and wake up the staff a few times - as if they are patients - see how they like it🤣 good luck - best wishes kathy

    Surgery in 4 days

@Sheleybeth Welcome to our group!! Wow, how exciting. Great news. Head spinning?!!You were not prepared for early WLS. You feeling excited, scared are very understandable. two common feelings by many OP Make some food ahead of time for family - DH or children. Plans to take are of children - or if none above apply - make plans for someone to check in on you. Don't over buy protein shakes, any food etc. Your taste buds might change. What you like today you might not like PO. Best of luck☺️ kathy

    Neck/facelift, Anyone?

@Screwballski i had a neck/face lift two years ago. i'm very pleased/happy with my neck. Not so happy about my face.☹️ left side is nice and firm/toned - right side has excess skin, not firm/toned doc said i look eight years younger - that response to me is terrible couldn't even say 10 yrs younger because he knew it wasn't true - thus saying eight years he felt "safer" anyway you look at it, i don't think facelift was successful i still feel/look as cute as a button!!😉 kathy

    Where Is Everyone From?

i was born in Budapest, Hungary my parents, sister and i escaped during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution i was two (2) years young, sister was four (4) Sadly i don't remember/know anything from Hungary, or the language. I've learned things over these year, but parents didn't want to talk about the hard times in Hungary, or the dangerous "travels" to America. kathy

    "The Good Doctor"

@FluffyChix I know, i couldn't believe it!!! "we" are all shocked, upset when we hear from our friends/family saying "WLS is the easy way out" - but a Dr.?!! I know this is just a tv show - but many other "real" docs might feel the same way. Kathy
  23. ProudGrammy

    "The Good Doctor"

@elcee The surgeons (on TV) working around patient in OR referred to WLS as the "easy way out"😠 I cringed loudly to myself - "i don't believe he just said that, a doctor"" Kathy

    Emergency Surgery

@Redmaxx What a mess!!☹️ glad surgery went well!! That's the important part!!! having to wait for test results/info is unfortunately the norm at many hospitals. too many pts - not enough staff (dr, nurse, aides etc.) butttt, that's not staffs fault, or ours!! searching through charts, for notes - finding out your possible "might haves" - its good you were proactive. Having to wait until November 13th for important dr appointment - i can only imagine your thoughts, worries! my fingers & toes are crossed - sending good wishes☺️ kathy

    They called my work!!!! D:

@Medowsweet Oh no!! Of all people that did this - coming from HR - whole situation is terrible If HR person asked who is calling? Bariatric Center should have said that a doctors office was calling. Or take their phone # and you will call back. If Bariatric center volunteered who they were - that was not right!! obviously this was not handled well good luck w/surgery kathy
