    SURGERY TOMORROW!

Morticia so sorry hubby is unable to be with you do you have other family/friends that can be attentive to your needs??? it would great if you had someone to lean on as @@Mary_B and @@McButterpants said above.............. being nervous - having 2nd thoughts, different "concerned" emotions are totally normal that doesn't mean they are easy to deal with you made the wise decision to have surgery, don't second guess yourself now I am sure that your docs took your medical problems/situations into consideration before you were approved to have the surgery i don't think he would have approved you for WLS if he even THOUGH there was a potentional problems but as OP have said - its understandable to have real fears The "second" you wake up - you might/will feel a little pain, gas et al you'll probably be getting pain meds through your IV many/most (but not all) have gas post surgery best thing to do is walk, then walk some more, and continue to walk your co-morbities helped/allowed you to get the surgery now, (like me) they should/will start to improve - maybe eventually disappear altogether (like me) start drinking as much liquids in the hospital when you are home - its essential that you push the fluids sip, sip very slowly throughout the day important to stay hydrated Water will be your new BFF for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life don't drink 15-30 minutes before you eat never drink while you are eating don't drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat drink 64 oz a day if you have trouble drinking - many people like room temperature water to drink if you are tired, rest, rest if you don't feel like jumping up and down, thats ok let your body tell you what to do you've got a whole wonderful life in front of you if you are feeling well, you can gradually go walking (even up and down the house) is a start good luck tomorrow speedy recovery kathy

Specific friend advice needed! Pic included

dreamscometrue if i were you, I also would be going a little/lot crazy with this "situation" sounds like all your frustration/anger?? is coming to a boil please DON'T blow up on her you are "bigger" then that best friends of over 20 years - come far and few apart I hope you two can work out this situation and get back to a good relationship as OP suggested - have a sit down for coffee don't be offensive saying something like "why haven't you said anything about my weight loss??" maybe say something like "over these past 6 months that I've lost 60 lbs........... I've had a bunch of of cool/funny happen to me" example...... comment that it is amazing that after wearing a size 22 - the first time you tried on a size 12 - your jaw dropped!!! clothes shopping is so much fun now - maybe we can go out together???? tell her how much healthier and happier you feel being so much more active, exercising - loving life one of my favorites was when i realized i had no problem going into a "regular" toilet!!!! instead of the handi-capped!!!! or "having" to pull the front seat up in your car - cuz your tummy is no longer in the way!!! totally cool once you start the conversation - see what happens she might jump in right away with her "dumb" explanation being apologetic (even though theres no good reason) when she's all done - everything is on the table - gotta let it go gotta "forgive" and try and move on I don't "think" you want to throw this friendship out the window (no matter how inconsiderate, stupid she is/was) 60 lbs weight loss!!!!! you are going to stand out beautifully in your size "8"? bridesmaid dress!!!! OP will only have eyes for/on you!!!! wellllll......maybe sometimes looking at the bride too keep up the good work great pic good luck "with all " kathy congrats

    "Sharting"

msfitn2014, @@JoyAnn44 not laughing at you, really but you are in for some possible fun some/many people have issues with gas post op!!! the help/answer to that "situation" (gas) is to walk, and walk, and walk - immediately in the hospital it will help get rid of the gas as far as "never trust a fart??" yep, thats true tooooo "butttttt", if these are the two worse problems you'll experience .............. oh well it could be worse!!! many of us "lucky' people never experience gas or "sharting" i was/am one of those people ladies, good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy

  20. @@Ariella "Try drinking through a straw" check with your doc about that some/many/most (my) docs says "no" to drinking with a straw carbonation situation - no soda either "food" for thought all docs are different about many things the one thing we have in common is that we're all different @@Seela "pee twice, once in the morning and before bed." hmmmmm - after drinking so much liquid, that is weird to me also maybe as OP said "some people need MORE Water??" my urine is also yellow and i drink plenty Vitamins can help make urine yellow??? if thats true, that kindof makes me feel better you are losing weight , so thats good you said you can't drink anymore??? maybe you just gotta give it the ol' college try do your best sounds like everything else is going well you don't have any health insurance for a couple of months sorry about that keep up the good job with the food plan/rules not sure i answered your question, but i tried (DH has told me i'm "very trying" (he's only kidding, I think ) good luck best wishes kathy

birdmadgirl "little" tough love you know you are not doing everything right get all your protein first try and watch your carb intake little exercise is good too helps you mentally feel good you gotta get back on the program!!!! drink your 64 oz of water - push it!!!! don't drink with your meals don't drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat as "they" always say "the sleeve is just a tool" you work with your sleeve and the sleeve will work for/with you you can/will be successful all the wrong things you are/were doing........ knock it offffff 50 lbs is terrific!!!! everyone loses at different rates, but...... get back on the wagon, ok?? its written all over your face that you want to do this and i know you can!!!! good luck kathy
  24. pam1965 doubt its me i'm only 5'3 LONG I'm 2+ years PO GOAL!!!! enjoying my new wonderful life in sleeveland someone on the boards just reminded "us" that the sleeve has been around for a lllllllong time the sleeve was initially/and still is used as a successful treatment for cancer so people/family et al who are concerned with the "new" sleeve - need to realize its been around for years i chose the sleeve over the bypass because the bypass "messes" around with your intestines malabsorption is a huge problem that many/most many people (me)don't want to deal with but the bypass is considered the "gold standard" i'm sure whatever your niece chooses will be great looks like you have been sleeved down 78 lbs!!!! party dance party dance keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy
