    Lack of protein

@@mommyjamie drinking at your early stage is more important than protein if you/anyone doesn't get enough liquids - you might/probably will get dehydrated some/many have had to go to the ER and get fluids through an IV (no fun) as others have said - yes your protein shakes count as liquids drink up - protein will happen as time passes (when your doc gives the ok) you can say goodbye to shakes and you will get your protein in from food different stages you can/will add soft/solids ie cheese, meat et al good luck kathy

    So Nervous

@@Julie904 some, many, most people are nervous prior to surgery scared, excited, worried, many different emotions all very normal that being said - be sure you are mentally ready for surgery sure there are things that can/might happen things, pain et al usually/should improve daily but complications can happen with any surgery some normal side effects like gas, tiredness, weakness, vomittings can/might happen but these issues do pass again, being scared et al is perfectly normal reading about complications is always good its true leaks CAN happen all/any complications that MIGHT happen but......reading problems people have had, don't let those scare you away "usually" there aren't problems with the sleeve 99.999% of people have no issues with surgery (that # might not be exact) missing a couple of initial appts to get the sleeve procedure started / continued...... be sure surgery is right for you if you want to try and continue with surgery don't miss your next appointment talk with your doc about your concerns he will/should be thorough with answers to all your questions write a list of questions before you go see doc maybe take a friend for support the posts that tell about their problems stick out in your brain when you read them its not that often that people only write how things went smoothly - no problems there are posts/threads that are for people that do say how wonderfully things have gone you reallllly want to do this - but you must/should try and be more prepared mentally IMO you will have a lot of rules to follow after you are sleeved you should/must go in with the attitude that you WILL be successful good luck with your decision if right now is the proper time - go for it if you still aren't ready/positive about surgery, thats ok - take your time good luck kathy

    Scared mom

@@britt1511 welcome newbie always nice to have a nice smiley face to add to the group its one of the many "rules" that ALL moms are scared/nervous for their kids you and i should know that!!!! the lapband does have many complications their is a separate thread regarding lapband to sleeve in other words people that had the lapband chose to have another operation (the sleeve) to fix the problem that the lapband gave them (any banders here, just voiceing things i have heard) i guess the lapband can/does work for many, but many others do have problems (erosion, slippage ie) my doc told me that lapbands aren't done that often anymore (he didn't/wouldn't do them) so he suggested the sleeve - which i 2+ years ago had i lost 105 lbs at a years time - and have been at GOAL this past year one satisfied customer here!!!!! there is a pregnancy thread also that you could check out i know that many people have gotten pregnant post op some/many people with their weight loss, helped them conceive take your mom to a seminar - have her write a list of questions for the speaker or take her to your docs office and discuss pro's and cons lapband vs sleeve or any other WLS ANY surgery has risks, possible complications................ there is an area on the board where people have written about their complications its good to read them to become totally informed these situations are NOT the norm - don't let them scare you off!!! but the success rate I "believe" is 99.99999% coming here to the board is great read, read, read you must./should be mentally ready for surgery the sleeve will assist/help you lose the weight "you work with the sleeve, and the sleeve will work with you" but its no magic pill you must continue to work hard for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kiss those 2 adoreable little boys losing weight, getting healthier, is one of the top reasons people have surgery they will be more able/capable to play with their kids/kids will be so appreciative of that take care good luck kathy

@@brandkrissy you aren't doing anything wrong that is probably why you are so frustrated!!! maybe you have seen other people lose more weight in the time period you are dealing with??? two important rules i've learned from this board 1. Never Ever, Ever compare yourself with anyone else (progress, lbs etc) people have been shot for less 2. the one thing we have in common, is that we're all different!!!!! you haven't lost weight in 4 day??? get over it thats ok - there might/will be other times when its more than 4 days things will work out, really keep doing exactly what you are doing you didn't mention Water - but i'm sure you are drinking well too take care, calm down take a chill pill good luckk for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life (who deserves it more?? ) kathy
