Please Tell Me It Gets Better
ProudGrammy replied to LaurieC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@LaurieC awwwww hun sorry you feel so rotten!!!! as others have said - things should/do get better everybody recuperates differently it takes some people longer than others to feel better try and get plenty of rest you need to drink so you don't get dehydrated don't worry about Protein - if you can't hold the Protein shakes down now, oh wellllll Water is much more important at this point (and later too) some/many newbies think warm/room temp water goes down easier sugar free popsicles are terrific too i hope you have some sort of support system (hubby, family, friends) if it makes you feel better - call your doc maybe he can give you something while you are nauseous you will NOT live this way forever your life will/should improve - sooner than later you made the wise decision to have WLS don't second guess yourself now!!!! might be hard to believe now - but you have started on the path to a healthier, happier, longer life with your new best friend the sleeve good luck improved recovery to you kathy -
Question on timeline
ProudGrammy replied to Sbagdan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Sbagdan some/many/all of us have many different emotions prior to surgery very normal you might be scared, concerned, nervous, than elated, excited, happy, anxious, impatient et al these feelings will periodically change - you'll have your ups and downs but in the end - you will have your surgery, and most likely everything will go great you MIGHT have some minor normal issues of gas/being extremely tired et al but this too will pass and hopefully things will continue to go better PO day after day my insurance condensed story - i was told Medicare would approve me had surgery and 2 months late received a bill for 22,000.00!!!! medicare didn't cover the sleeve (now it does) after 3 months of "discussions" with my secondary insurance (Blue Cross) i was finally approved!!!! good luck with pre-op getting all your T's crossed and your I's dotted!!! you are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life with the sleeve (or whatever you are having done) good luck kathy -

How much of ur long term success is from developing healthy habits or actual restriction?
ProudGrammy replied to marfar7's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
longer I go, will the restriction still be my main goal or if the healthier habits @@marfar7 when i was early early PO and could feel total restriction........i thought cool this is gonna be great MAYBE as long as 10 months i did feel that great restriction unfortunately - ,2.5 years PO - i don't feel that restriction as much can not rely on my tummy telling me when to stop i know the portion i should put on my plate eating too much feeling my tummy really hurts i have eaten too much (really only a few times) and my tummy is not happy, but thats way after I should have stopped eating at the very beginning my surgeon jokingly, but true - said to me to eat until i'm full, but stop two bites earlier as we always say - we're all different i have heard on the forum from some people - after a long time they still have that marvelous restriction i wish i did too but my sleeve is still wonderful, helping me - and makes my life much better my lifestyle/eating habits i've learned - remain in tact as with some/many/most i will indulge in a couple (or three or four) bites of something that is not really Kosher but..........we sometimes/always tell OP that we will be able to eat anything PO shouldn't deprive ourselves i will eat much smalllller quanities bottom line, you should/must continue to eat, healthy continue with the good habits you've learned and watch how little you eat 97 lbs lost holding the door open for you to enter the century club keep up your great job!!!!! kathy
