@CarmenP as always - everyone is different with their healing/pain I always had a double chin/neck - i finally said to myself " i am worth it" (having the surgery) i didn't do as much research as i probably should have.i talked to my bariatric center, they recommended the dr. they only heard good things. I discussed surgery with him, done deal!! and PS told me that i would get a little face lift too, since the skin goes up with the neck. PO in recovery room was terrible - my face was realllly hurting!! I had 2 drains, low each side of my face (about 2 weeks) semi-pain lasted around one week. Very pleased with neck lift - ummmm - not much improvement with face, can only do so much with what they have to work with LOL😉 good luck kathy

@Healthy_life one year after surgery ??- nope, nothing different - i'm perfect🤣 (notttt!) pre-op - i wish i had done more research!! Lot's more newbies et al - do as i say, not as i do!! read, read, read KNOWLEDGE is POWER!!! kathy

@Yolie1977 sorry you are feeling sad many newbies are under the misconception that they will lose ie 50 lbs in one week doesn't work that way🙁 It's always easy to GAIN weight, not as easy to lose/maintain losing 6 lbs is nothing to sneeze over - good for you!!☺️ try not to get down on yourself, get upset, wonder if you should have had surgery (easier said than done) many OP temporarily feel upset post op - they don't feel well, get nauseous etc - have problems drinking water PO for awhile. good for you on realizing you must have liquids (can't afford to get dehydrated!) broth, protein shakes are good. continue to push those liquids, have popsicles too, they taste great (to me) you are and will continue to do great!! I can feel it in my bones!! keep on keeping on good luck kathy

@RosePollard hey bud sorry you are "jumping through" the hoops of insurance. continue to stay in touch with insurance et al - when "they" tell you nay or yea - (hopefully yea) have them send you a letter, so no misunderstanding -if they do so nay - you should/must appeal!! fingers & toes crossed☺️ good luck kathy

@TeeMillz welcome newbie i had my sleeve one month before i turned 58 years OLD I will Be 65 years YOUNG in January!! it wasn't harder for ME to accomplish my weight loss maybe a little slower - that is just me never compare your successes to others, whether they be a youngun, or an old fart like us?🤣 good luck Friday kathy

@Beachladee3 hi newbie😊 be consistent on which scale you listen to, doesn't matter what the weight says. if you want to go by the docs scale scale or yours , just only go by same scale - on other words don't compare each other good luck kathy

@Vagrant Violet welcome newbie at your early stage - you shouldn't be drinking fast!! but you learned not too, (the hard way) - but you are good to go now , sure no damage was done. about one month PO i chewed some meat too fast - i was so scared - "that was it" I totally screwed up. My life is over LOL. I knew that i had to chew better and slower, I knew what to do - but i needed/wanted some reassurance. (like you coming here to the boards) Called my NUT to talk - got the reassurance i needed, and life continued!! was i acting a little paranoid - yeh think LOL - A little paranoia is ok - just don't go crazy and worry too much!! 🤣 You are/and will continue to follow the rules -don't drink fast - i didn't gulp til my NUT gave me the ok!! good luck huggggs kathy

@Anna82808 hmmmm - many OP say they experience different types of mood/emotions - for a period of time PO. At 8 months, i don't think this new prob is associated with your surgery. Check what else is going on - we can't blame all our problems on WLS😉 - hope things, your feelings will improve - and you'll be good as new congrats on your weight loss good luck kathy

(they would have been younger) LOL I turned 58 years OLD when i had my WLS - In January I will be 65 years YOUNG Your screen name is perfect - you are never too old for WLS.
