4 days post op, trouble keeping fluids down..
ProudGrammy replied to nprcowboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@nprcowboy OMG!!! even worse than i thought it was definitely talk to your surgeon i would reallllly complain to the hospital write a letter telling what happened your bad experience find out an OFFICIAL name/person at the hospital to send it to this probably won't do much or any good good for the sole to put it all out there!!! more importantly really complain to doc say how awful it was if wifey can't have surgery at diff hospital it is more possible that with the docs input - the staff will work better for you two hope good happens from your bad situation "maybe" things will improve for people to follow hope you start to feel better soon Water et al good luck kathy -

battle to get few sips down. @@nprcowboy what a bummer it is terrible that that you had such poor treatment since you didn't say otherwise you were satisfied with the docs performance?? tell your doc your bad experince at the hospital maybe he can do WLS at a different hospital?? docs frequently have privileges at other hospitals too i was supposed to have WLS at one hospital my epilepsy is totally controlled with meds but a couple of weeks prior to surgery doc decided to perform surgery at a "more equipped/better/newer" hospital "just" in case a problem occurred no probs for me doc figured better safe than sorry - thats ok with me staff and doc were great ask doc about changing hospitals you were so uncomfortable at your hospital staff and all you want better care for your wife hope your wifey has a better experience at the hospital good for you that you are walking, walking a bit will help get rid of any gas you might have PO this is good, keeps your strength up etc at 4 days PO, your problems with drinking/nausea are common these problems should gradually get better hopefully sooner than later hope wifey has a better hospital experience speedy recovery good luck kathy -

Really discouraged
ProudGrammy replied to mezzomaybe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@mezzomaybe the word ONLY should be taken out of the dictionary!! you lost 10 lbs, that is a good start 10 lbs IMO is not enough to be "seen" on your body "they" say loosing 10 lbs a month is average/good we all loose amounts of weight in different time periods never, ever, ever compare your weight loss to others it took me too about 40 lbs too for people to notice my weight loss i agree that compliments are great but you are doing this to get heathier, happier in your longer life the complimenta will come soon, but for right now, enjoy how you are starting to feel since you didn't say otherwise sounds like recovery is going smoothly you are 3 weeks PO give the sleeve a chance follolw all the "rules", and your weight will start to come off you are eating/drinking so few calories, it MUST come off eventually please don't feel/be discouraged you obviously are smart cookie since you chose the sleeve "God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry About it" take care good luck kathy -
@@amper02 i envy your problem good for you realizing that cola is not an option looks like you have tried many good things thirst is a symptom of diabetes is that possible??? being sleeved would/should improve the diabetes, so thats confusing "maybe" go to the old standard of calling NUT/dr explain how you are sooo thirsty always, but you are still thirsty he might have a suggestion - or he might tell you to "get over it"!! there is no such thing as drinking too much water but not being able to get satisfaction from drinking lots of water, and still be thirsty that isn't good for you hopefully you'll get good suggestions i would just suggest calling the good ol' doc drinking to your health good luck kathy

messing up pretty bad. eating what ever I want. @@APURNELL welcome back - we missed you!!!! i think being on the board reinforces our new life in sleeveland "reminds" us of what we should be doing eating whatever you want??? KNOCK IT OFF!!! i can't imagine how hard it is to keep such a busy lifestyle/schedule while watching your eating habits too!! not that this helps you much - but i know other people like you somehow manage to do "everything" my hat is off to everyone with a family/kids/work/school etc. etc it must be very hard to do, but you can do it as far as your surgeon goes............ keep bugging his office i think its terrible they haven't returned your calls next time you call, emphasize that their are problems and you must speak to doc ASAP !!!! "remind" the office that you have tried to call doc on several occassions never returns your calls Do you have an "official" NUT?? if not will insurance help pay to see one even a couple times would help you "tomorrow" go back to basics with Protein shakes only that will give you a head start on weight loss whenever you "might" think of eating something you shouldn't DON'T DO IT!!! remember i'm watching you!! good for you that you know what to eat, portions etc but your situation/weight loss won't happen as long as you graze, eat whatever you want put a lid on it choosing the sleeve, doing your research i can tell you are a smart cookie Its easier said than done but you must stop eating all that crappp -NOW force yourself to start to follow the rules again do you remember them all? these are the basic rules i can think of drink 64 oz of Water a day stop drinking about 30 minutes before you eat never, ever, ever drink with your meals people have been shot for less don't drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat small bites eat very slowly chew thoroughly protein first chicken, fish, cheese, egg cottage cheese - yogurt watch your carb intake measure ALL your food keep track of EVERYTHING you eat be honest!! maybe use MFP since you are returning to eating properly my opinion only....(covering my small assss ) after you stop doing the Protein Shakes maybe daily eat 700-800 calories a day for awhile to help you loose more weight choosing to have WLS/sleeved shows you are a smart cookie remember - when you least expect it, i will peak in on you take care bud you can do this, i know you can good luck kathy
