    @@champagne301 glad doc is working on the appeal insurance will do their thing so this will take a little while i know nothing about the patch when you tell someone you've been on the patch for 4 weeks does that show insurance you were smoke free ???? or are people still able to smoke while being on the patch?? i don't know the answer to that many/most docs require a blood test shortly before surgery this verifies that you have been smoke free i can only imagine that it must be very hard to quit smoking you will do this!!!! continue to be live smoke free hopefully appeal will be taken care of sooner than later before you know it, you will be on your way to a............ healthier, happier, longer, smoke free life who deserves it more good luck kathy

    @@sleevedmanda i see you are a newbie welcome to the group no surgery ever??? i can only imagine how scary the thought of surgery must be for you its good not to have your head in the sand your eyes are wide opened i "think" the success with WLS is 99.9% you don't remember those the bad stories stick out in your mind and memory any/all surgeries do have their "possible" problems its ok to be a little scared the next 3 weeks you might feel happy, excited, nervous, anxious, overwhelmed etc etc normal feelings you are going to be changing a big part of your life (food) you made the wise decision to have the sleeve its ok to 2nd guess yourself a "little" but not enough that you change your mind about having WLS read these boards thoroughly you'll see many questions and answers you might be thinking of post your questions too also use the search button in the top right hand corner you will be seeing your doc again pre-op write down list of questions to ask him and NUT good luck for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life who deserves it more?!!! speedy recovery kathy

(really) love it when i find/see YOUR words, experiences and support on posts YOU are great yes it is amazing to look back at where we where 3 years ago and where we are now, and where we are headed in my wildest dreams - after too many years finally losing my weight being so healthy and happy i am glad we walked through this adventure together many ups and down, but we kept moving forward take care bud kathy

    @@GnomeRN glad you are joining us great to have another nice newbie amongst us i can see you are a smart cookie by having surgery to improve your life awful when people tease you as a kid saying you are fat etc sure doesn't help your situation everyone else you knew was super thin - so any comparison to them is crazy surgery on monday the 22nd!!!! (can't believe how the holidays have crept up on us ) happy, excited, scared, nervous all common feelings pre-op your life does change after surgery!!!! hopefully everything will go well walk around the hospital corridors a lot but.,....please don't get lost walking helps you get rid of the gas take very slow sips of Water have a nice calm weekend take care good luck speedy recovery kathy

    @@lejlavj 2 weeks PO you are still around to talk about it!! the word "ONLY" regarding weight loss people have been shot for less no such thing as ONLY losing 1, 2, 3 etc lbs 4 lbs in second week is great you are in the pureed phase verify with your NUT or surgeon how much you "should" be having if you are eating too little, they will tell you good luck kathy
  14. @@sweetie716 @@sweetie716 you are lucky that you have no problems drinking many people do have getting in all their fluids (sometimes me ) your NUT told you (me too) that you should only take a few sips at a time their is a reason for that but i'm not sure what it is i think it "might" have something to do with your poor new tummy tummy is still healing you just had major surgery!!! since its still healing - take it slow tumm tumm is still sore i was told not to gulp for awhile (maybe a month??don't really remember ) if NUT says no prob drinking that much 6 days after WLS - go for it final word always come from NUT you won't feel any restriction til you start to eat when you eat solids - the restriction will take effect interesting feeling not be able to eat any more take care continued good recovery kathy

  17. @@1babyjane i have heard/seen some people eat baby food not for me!!! don't want to even say those words enjoy your Christmas dinner "try" not to overdue toooo much remember, thats all the more weight you have to lose before/after surgery congrats on getting all your ducks in a row what, no chickens (sorry bud, the devil made me say that ) good for youbeing all prepared don't buy too much of one specific Protein shake taste buds frequently chanage you might not like that same Protein powder in a couple of weeks hope you have someone to support or help you at home for a bit not always necessary - just nice to have but.....you can do it on your own remember, we're here good luck with pre-op sleeve surgery next month take care bud speedy recovery kathy

    @@iamblessed1225 sorry bud DEAL WITH IT!!!! you can't tell the weight to come off here or there ie you can't say "no no - i don't want THAT much weight off my asssss" but........... you can leave more of the "girls" to "hang" around doesn't work that way on the positive side your skin does firm up a little after a while the younger you are the more it probably will tighten up a "bit" once again sorry about no more bottom to twist and turn congrats on losing 91 lbs!!! kathy

    @@alyssa9409 1-2 YEARS gotcha LOL :D btw i think that's a pretty personal question ms. nosey pants many docs will suggest to wait couple of weeks definitely wait til you feel ok you did just have major surgery some docs might tell you its ok to have sex but.......try not to do any crazy tricks, certain leg movements, or some things yet!!!! good luck bud kathy

  22. @@mns112182 don't have the answer to that I do know that the more someone weighs he/she will initially lose weight quicker if your hubby weighs 350-400 lbs he will start off losing more weight (ie 125 lbs) 125 lb weight loss surpasses your 112 lbs you want/need to lose your starting weight is 252 lbs you'll never be able to catch up with # of his weight loss its like getting on a bicycle 15 minutes after your husband you can pedal as fast as he does but you'll never catch up with how much he has to lose but you still can pass the finish goal line first (did i say that right?? ) i am sure you and hubby are proud of his success 125 lbs down!!! average 41 lbs per month!!!! he is doing great!! congrats to hubby good luck to you your surgery is 1 week from monday good luck speedy recovery kathy
