    Confused about Before/After Photos area

🤣🤣🤣 We all have our moments!!! kathy
  3. @fun_freckles i also saw most/many OP on board were/or did have pre-op liquids/diet. Supposed to loose X amount of weight. i asked my surgeon and he said he didn't believe in the above. in hindsight i wish he had "made" me do something so i would have lost weight pre-op. Of course i could have/should have taken it upon myself to do shakes etc. Even though i did not do special pre-op shakes/diet - I have been successfully/maintaining GOAL. these past 7+ years (slight fluctuations) happy as a clam!! my suggestion to you is do some shakes, or a "diet" of some sort. The more you loose pre-op, the less you need to loose PO. You will give yourself a jump start on your weight loss. Do as i say, not as i do!!😉 good luck next week with sleeve speedy recovery kathy

You are approaching weight loss finish line then you start all over w/maintenance for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life. reaching GOAL is wonderful - then hard work continues - following the rules forever and ever and ever keeping the lbs off - i know you can/will do this keep up the great job!! kathy congrats

@Heather E Wow, too many NSV's to count!!! the clothes NSV is the one that is most talked about. Wonderful feeling for all. 116 lbs gone, gone, and gone - don't look at me, i didn't take them!! keep doing what you are doing 😊 kathy congrats
  6. @mousecat88 A lot has happened to you, and you came out the other side healthier, and happier. Hernia repair, gallbladder , ulcer too- ouch that's a lot to deal with. Not a mini-success. You went all the way with a great, huge/ success !!! glad you are feeling like a "normal" person again!! LOL 63 lbs pre and post op gone - WTG!! keep up the great job kathy congrats

    Onederland!!!!!!

@CarmenP you continue to be strong and persistent!! Good for you! - I'm sorry you went through a long stretch of not losing weight. You didn't give in to temptation/frustration and possibly gain lots of weight. As you wisely said "stick to the program, it will work" awwwww, onederland - welcome to the neighborhood - i knew you'd arrive keep UP the good work, while your weight goes DOWN. kathy congrats
  8. @elcee OMG you went through the wringer and back!! feeling those awful thoughts, hurting so much. i am so sorry you experienced this situation, being understandably scared of what was going on!! take care at home, heal slowly - don't rush - this was very serious - do only what your body is allowing you to. I don't think you should walk and walk as you would a "normal" bariatric surgery. Do whatever the doc allows. This is no time to be a hero - you must totally recover at your own pace. Take care my friend🤗 kathy

    nutrition labels: an observation

i agree, it would be soooo much easier if everything was in one serving pkg like the starkist tuna. it tastes great, so easy "to make" -

    I buried my 15 year old grand-son

once again thank you all for your nice sentiments "choking game" crazy - what these kids do!! they see stuff on the internet, copy, joke, hold their breath peer pressure, see who can do what, for the longest time.!! terrible. update about the tragedy police officially ruled this an accident. we didn't know this, but apparently policed saw his phone on the floor. "they" are thinking he dropped the phone, bent down to reach it and that's when the problem with the rope happened. January 3rd the world got a little darker with the passing of my poor grand-son, andrew. thanx for listening Such a tragedy we will never forger

    Any Sleevers from 2011?

@KGreene13 welcome back I am also a proud card holder from the class of 2011 !! 7 years PO - past 6 years in maintenance, holding my own with slight fluctuations.☺️ I never heard of a dr saying "we didn't do your surgery so we don't want to responsibility for your care." Wow, its not like you are asking them for "physical" care, i get that. But not giving you support/help/advice etc??? crazy. - wow!! maybe you can find a NUT in a practice that will helps. Or if you afford it, go to a NUT office for reminders/help about proper eating. i could be wrong, but it sounds like you might need help getting back on track, eating properly etc. Right?? That's what this board is all about. As far as the advice about where to go for a dr, @RickM gave you good info. I don't think that anything has changed with the sleeve - (drinking, protein, carbs, etc) there are more instructions/booklets/info that people are now given. (i was given very poor aftercare) Someone reading this can hopefully send a link to such info. stick around - read the boards and you probably will learn something new, interesting that you can relate to - ask more questions. good luck kathy where did you live, and where did you move 1,000 miles later?? (inquiry minds want to know)

    I buried my 15 year old grand-son

To all my bariatric friends/pals thank you all so much for your nice thoughts to me and my family. Andrew is (i don't like the words was) a wonderful, wonderful grand-son. i will always love him forever and forever. Life sadly must/will go on without him - but my memories will always be in my heart. kathy

Anyone else's surgeon say no preop diet?

@2Bsmaller18 no pre-op for me. Double edged sword. Good or bad? i read on the board about the "horrible" pre-op, i was happy my doc said he didn't require pre-op diet. Woo Hoo! But.... this gave me "permission" not to try and lose wt before surgery. Instead, I went the funeral route and gained 5 lbs.!! Even though i/you didn't have a pre-op diet, i would drink protein shakes, low cal - deal with your new water situation. try and loose some weight pre-op . Do as i say, not as i do!! good luck kathy

I"m Back, But new to here.

@Daliaha Welcome back, nice to see you again☺️ Sorry you had problems with the band (regain, erosion etc) glad you fought with insurance and won!! Hopefully, things will go smoothly with the sleeve. You probably had similar rules with the band as you will have with the sleeve - ways to eat, etc follow all rules. I always think water is the most important. drink at least 64 oz - don't drink 1/2 hr before you eat -never drink while you eat - WAIT an hour after you eat before you drink again I lost 105 lbs 7 years ago, and continue to maintain (little fluctuations) follow all the rules, listen to your NUT (and me! lol) You will be a success too!! good luck kathy
  21. @Queenbee34 as @sillykitty said "we're all different" no one can predict how they will feel after any surgery. if you can ask work 1-2 weeks off,+ depending on how you feel, that would be great. Take your time, rest, - don't push yourself. When you go back to work, take full and half days. In my case, I returned to work immediately, when i came home. I am happily retired☺️ good luck kathy
