    This made me sad

i wrote the below paragraph now put in green earlier needed to make a correction therefore the repost "i can't think of any right answer that will help the world with obesity (just to mention getting rid of all fast institutions would be a good place to start) of course that could never happen" meant to have the word food there we all know how mcdonalds, burger king et al are frequently "visited" increasing now to LARGE sizes why not order large burger, large fries, large soda eventually LARGE COFFIN kathy
  3. @@Countrygrrl dear speedy gonzales LOL old habits die hard but they must die i used to eat fast, fast too my "tool" was a shovel i kept digging myself in a deeper hole eating too fast??? KNOCK IT OFF!! eating too fast - its like hurry, hurry keep eating otherwise someone is gonna grab your plate from underneath you!! I frequently use a baby utensil when i eat you can only go so fast when you are using a baby spoon when i eat my yummy yogurt i have a teeny spoonful then i take a break - move the plate - and restart its great or using regular silverware taking your fork/spoonful after you are done chewing put utensil down for a couple of secs it DOES work/help - but you have to keep practicing you know what they say about practice you can do this you must and you will 41 lbs total down pre and post op that's great keep up the good work kathy congrats

    This made me sad

@@*Lexie* i'm just sitting here kindof staring out into space this story is heartbreaking such a sad story that might be happening more and more i can't think of any right answer that will help the world with obesity (just to mention getting rid of all fast institutions would be a good place to start) of course that could never happen Hector didn't want to live i can only imagine how he must have felt he was successful at times in losing weight only to put it back on again i'm afraid most of us know that feeling he led such a sad life obesity starting from childhood bullying continuing to gain weight as an adult being stuck in a chair feeling no reason to live just ate and sat, watched tv ate and sat, and ate and sat etc............. if his story helps one obese person to lose and maintain their weight his death will not be in vain wherever he is now i hope he is in peace no more suffering kathy

  7. @@nprcowboy you are very welcome its interesting how people on a board like this get so involved with a "strangers" now we all feel like close friends you have through such times congrats on staying strong and getting through this i can't imagine going through what you had to do glad that nasty NG tube is finally gone how is your eating going?? or are you still only drinking? pureed? hope the worst is over and you continue to improve how is wifey?? cancer - what is the situation? what is going on with her sleeve? of course dealing with the cancer is the first concern don't know whats in store for her but best of luck to her good luck cowboy kathy
  8. @@JALUVIC i know i could have lost this weight without WLS I've done it MANY times before but i could NEVER keep it off!!! i would gain the weight i loss plus more back I have been at GOAL these past two years (fluctuating at times) the sleeve can't do all the work alone - i knew that I needed to work with the sleeve and "it" worked with/for me good luck monday 30 lbs down!!! kathy congrats kathy
  9. ProudGrammy

    did you tell people?

@ hubby was with me during the whole process before surgery and after came to "meetings" surgeon, NUT etc one month before WLS i told my entire big family we all live in different states, and we get together for thanksgiving thats where i decided to make the "bold" (for me) decision about telling them my "secret" of the WLS everyone - aunts, uncles, 4 siblings, cousins were happy for me they knew i had struggled most of my life with obesity i've mentioned i always have had "issues" with my mom (she was 81 at the time) like i said - everyone was happy for me!! but in my mothers case ---- she was TOO happy she was ALWAYS critical about my appearance/ "excess" weight her actions when she heard about surgery was more of a RELIEF that she would no longer have a daughter that was the F word (won't say that word) wouldn't feel embarrassed being seen with me NOT over reacting - making a true statement moms excitement had nothing to do with my health (diabetes, high blood pressure etc) never concerned about the act of surgery (possible complications) just happy i wouldn't look so F... kindof lost it for a sec thinking about my past i have talked to a therapist about my situation oh dear guys thanx for not interrupting my rant of course you had no choice LOL btw - don't worry about me seeing a therapits about my "mom" and food issue" issue that i need to deal with back to initial question.... the main reason i chose not to tell many people about WLS was that i didn't want people to keep looking at me to see how much (or how little) weight i was losing didn't want to go there mid way while i was losing i chose to tell a few friends that were supportive other people, what they don't know............. whether you decide to tell lots of people/a few people/no one your choice for you is just that - YOUR choice good luck with your decision and your pending surgery kathy

    Help!

@emk101009 wonderful weight loss how do you know hungry you "should" be???? "it" varies for all of us some of us might never have lost their hunger issues others maybe at 3 months others at.............. stalls happen to most all of us Get Over It must be patient - it will pass (like gas ) time periods/stalls will vary from 3 weeks to.............. God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It!!! We're all different we lose amount of weight in different time periods we lose inches at the beginning from different areas ie less boobs or less tushy!!! yogurt is not that filling but it is great, and has lots of Protein too you can never have too much protein during the day dense protein like chicken is wonderful - very filling you didn't chew thoroughly?? means you probably ate too fast too!!!! KNOCK IT OFF slow down with your eating and chew better that wouldn't cause you to stretch your sleeve after each bite, put your utensil down for a few seconds too use a baby spoon - that helps too i "think" many people at one time or another worry that they might have stretched their new little tummies as far as "stretching" your tummy eat wayyyy too much food, too fast all morning, noon, afternoon, evening & night in other words 24/7 grazing ALL day (like you/me did in the good 'ol days this will cause weight gain but as far as stretching the sleeve - don't "think"it happens follow all the rules and things should be good you'll get wrinkles if you worry toooo much good luck 43 lbs down!!! kathy congrats
