ProudGrammy replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@LilMissDiva Irene this should be a must read /requirement for all newbies(et al) thanx for taking time away from your busy exercise routine to write, start this thread i read this for the first time a few months pre-op 3+ years later (goal, 2 years maintenance) "it" has the same great advice/comments/meanings kathy -
@@fit4life123 this is a very sore subject for me the issues behind health insurance/cost etc bother/anger me my mom is 85 years OLD on many meds has to go to different docs alot she pays alotttt, even after insurance pays their part they just don't cover enough i have 4 siblings luckily between the 5 of us - we are able to supplement her income considerably that way we don't have to worry she is not medically being helped i am very lucky to have wonderful health insurance primary is medicare secondary is BCBS is from my office no health insurance for anyone!!! that's so sad especially when little kids et al are unable to get proper healthcare since they don't have insurance any/all medical issues/problems/costs are terrible dealing with/worry about your health issues are bad enough but when people don't have the money to take care of their medical situations/meds etc - that is horrible meds for helping to avoid gallstones $300.00, is that monthly??? hope you are able to deal with the finances thoughts that most/many of you guys have insurance wish the whole world was properly covered ok, discussions about insurance - the above is continually my vent very glad that you had surgery while you still had your moms' insurance terrible your mom lost her job hope she gets another job sooner than later 59 lbs down that is great keep up the good work kathy

@@laurenella82 glad surgery is done i remember watching you doing a constant countdown toward surgery date did start to get annoying after a while boring too "they" always have problems getting my blood because i have small veins i thought when i lost weight, it would be easier for them to get my blood -nope an IV is supposedly harder to put in than a regular needle to draw blood my mother said something similar to your dad inquiring how much weight i lost immediately after surgery she seriously asked me "did my underpants fall down?" i've been meaning to talk to you about your shower situation ummmm, please take that shower ASAP you really need to!!! as far as kind of being upset about not getting enough Protein in.............. for now getting as much water/liquids in is more important than protein eventually/ASAP you will need to get in 60+ gr of protein for now concentrate on drinking glad recovery is moving along, going well normal small problems PO will continue to get better take care my friend kathy

Is surgical clearance appointment approval?
ProudGrammy replied to jerseygrl6289's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@jerseygrl6289 you should/need to make a phone call back to docs office office must OFFICIALLY/should tell you that you''ve been approved i wanted "them" to send me my approval in a letter i think its good to have a piece of paper showing your approval from ins instead of a phone call that you can't prove (even if you take that persons name, they could have made a mistake) "surgical clearance" sounds like lab work, sleep, psych exams etc THEN the paperwork would be submitted to insurance you need/should wait to hear from insurance i had a prob with ins - i was told i was approved, yet i really wasnt post op, after many "discussions" i was approved buttttt.......this is just my opinion you need to get more info good luck kathy -
Pet Peeve (Celebrations centered around food)
ProudGrammy replied to Dolores33778's topic in Rants & Raves
Why, does everything have to be centered around food? @@Dolores33778 you are right "it's not just us" "normal" people too celebrating with food for whatever reason was "taught" to me at an early age my parents would take the family out on special occasions always related to food/eating/dinner etc its just something i grew up with then i continued, and continued and continued etc before i knew it i was always eating for ANY reason heck i would celebrate when it was a tuesday and i saw a bird!! any excuse to eat eating goes hand with society terrible habit, tradition you want to meet and talk with a friend go out to dinner and eat!!! thats the way "it" is kathy -
Should I send the hubs home, or have him stay and wait?
