Need to be Supported
ProudGrammy replied to Kimpicc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Kimpicc "Do or Do Not, There is no Try" Yoda where can you get support??? what are we, chopped liver support is the name of the game on this board no cheating and you will be the winner!!!! you are having a few problems now - Knock it Off you can and must do this it must be very hard for you/others when you have a family to feed but.........Get Over It you must not let temptation get the better of you easier said than done clean/empty your pantry of junk chips, Cookies etc aren't good for you or the family get rid of them (sorry bud, no excuses about kids/family wanting to eat "bad" stuff) family "could/maybe/should" start eating healthier too with your preparation of meals I've seen other family members here lose weight or if they are of "normal" size, eating healthy won't kill them your new life has started with being told you must lose some weight pre-op this will be an indication that you will eat and drink etc after surgery you must drink 64 oz post surgery get a jump start and drink that much now its good for you then PO - you must continue to eat and drink, and follow many rules to lose your weight til you reach goal thennnn the hard work continues with maintenance you must always eat and drink etc properly for the rest of your life to be the success i know you are you are starting a new lifestyle as @@woo woo said - drink Protein shakes for the next few days that will give you a boost in losing some weight quickly good luck my friend i have faith in you speedy recovery kathy -

@@Inner Surfer Girl i just saw that too Pauline wouldn't do anything for herself post op wouldn't even walk after surgery in the hospital!! fooled herself by saying she thought she was doing well annoyed with docs expectations eating terribly refused to go to PT denied they even called her her son is doing whatever he is told caretaker - has to wash his mom!!! i don't think he can take a normal job because he has to stay with his mom being trapped in the house for her he is 21, but this is a form of child abuse "might sound crazy" but maybe if he just leave her she would have to "get it together" call for assistance etc maybe she needs to take the consequences of her chosen life maybe then she will get more serious about her life have no alternative she even admits she feels bad for her son she is unintentionally killing him he's also heavy who knows, maybe he is just constantly gaining weight too following his mothers foot steps because he doesn't how how else to live just sitting around because he can't have a normal ife, doesn't see any people most of the time bingo?? he can't even leave his mothers side to talk to anyone he must have mental issues/problems that should be released but who can he talk to?? very sad, very sad her food addiction is slowly but surely killing her i can't imagine being at her weight she knows she must lose weight, but......... oh well maybe i'm being too harsh about her son leaving but presently there are 2 lives being destroyed maybe he can still save himself kathy -

Not really sure I'm happy with my gastric sleeve surgery choice
ProudGrammy replied to pinklady08619's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@pinkylady08619 sorry your NUT won't be around for a bit she will be a great help write down your questions its easy to forget certain things you want to talk/ask about read the boards go to the search button in the top right hand corner you'll see that many other people have asked similar questions that you might have too ask your questions here too we're here to give support give our experiences too all comments you have been given are great/helpful but at the end of the day listen to YOUR doc or nut its said frequently on the board that the one thing we all have in common, is that we're all different" all docs and NUTS (nutritionalist ) have different rules my doc had me on Clear liquids for 10 days i "think" its safe to say that most of us are on clear liquids for more than a day having the sleeve or bypass or lapband - i think the early stages are similar please don't regret having the sleeve because you are on liquids longer than you thought personally speaking the sleeve has been my best friend for the past 3 years as long as i continue to follow all the rules i will do great you work with the sleeve/and it will work with/for you good luck kathy -

@@jjmcrash218 welcome welcome welcome welcome i can see you are a smart cookie since you realized having the sleeve is great!! we're all here to support each other give advise/suggestions,expertise share are experiences to help people good for you on using small plates try baby silverware too i used my baby spoon for a long time clothes fitting better meds being decreased down 33 lbs buttttt a few comments /suggestions nicely spoken to help you "kindof" sounds like you get that full feeling at one point rest a bit then continue to eat no no no before you are full stop eating not when you are already stuffed when you are approaching that full feeling you should (must) stop good for you that you are working on eating slower that is very important you will get that full feeling quicker you should/must measure your food my surgeon told me to eat until i'm "almost" full then stop 2 bites earlier!!!! the sleeve is here to help you (me/us) when it tells you to stop - listen to it!!! please ??? you work with the sleeve and it will work for/with you!! do you have a NUT (nutritionist)you can talk to for help? can you find a support group around you? many people (me) go their for help, discussions about food/program IMO the Water rules are the most important to follow being told not to drink while you eat is very hard to follow but we must follow you are waiting 45-60 minutes before you drink after your meal right?? you stop drinking about 1/2 an hour before you eat?? you drink at least 64 oz of water/liquids i'm sure you already knew these things and are following lots of rules we must ALL follow to be successful these new habits do not stop once you reach goal you have "signed" up for this new lifestyle with eating/drinking for the rest of your life it really is doable i know you will be a success good luck kathy -
