    Medicare?

@@Need4Change welcome, welcome, welcome to the Bariatric Pal Boards you just made your first post too!! ask many questions from the board people will give you good suggestions/thought/experiences but at the end of the day .................. always only listen to your doc and NUT (nutritionist) and me of course doctors office told you BCBS won't cover WLS??? i would double check on that statement even though they (office) have total/much experience working with insurance co. they shouldn't tell you automatically you won't be accepted the same way they shouldn't tell you were approved they are not the official final word talking for the insurance company i think is irresponsible 5 years ago Medicare wasn't accepting the sleeve (i was denied) no ifs, and, or buts!!! "they" considered the sleeve to be experimental!! (side note, my secondary BCBS finally approved after many long "discussions" Medicare now does accept the sleeve don't think it is different state to state medicare is federal? so it should be accepted, "i think" as long you have many physical problems needed to be accepted by surgery ie diabetes, high blood pressure etc MEDICARE "probably/should" accept you "should" be approved if you do have a problem with approval. (medicare or BCBS) going to another country ie Mexico is always a good option many, many people have gone that route with great success i didn't go to Mexico since insurance finally accepted me prices vary Four Thousand Dollars to................ when (if) you hopefully get approved - write down a list of questions to ask surgeon listen carefully, write down his responses/ facts do lots of research about the different surgeries i'm biased since i had the sleeve - i think its best you can now make an informed decision and chose whichever surgery is best for you good luck kathy

@@BeautifullyCreated1982 i am sorry, but.... happy that your surgery is being delaying for an additional 3 weeks good for you on telling surgeon your concerns/problems pre-op honesty is always good he realized you needed to be more prepared for the surgery (mentally) IMO surgeon was "correctly" hard on you (postponing WLS) surgeon sounds like a keeper to me you realized you must work hard and follow all the rules if you can't do it in pre-op - PO will be quite an issue there are people that don't do well pre-op and are successful - but that doesn't mean its right you must continue this new lifestyle for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life you work with the sleeve - and it will work with/for you 14 lbs down pre-op more pre-op to come starting process again!! that'll show you!! actually it will!!! i'm sure you'll be more committed to following plan than when you were 1rst wrote this February 15th got confidence in you kiddoo good, good, good luck these next 3 weeks happy surgery speedy recovery kathy

(Countdown update: Surgery in just 15 days!) @Okiebon similar question wayyyy back 3+ years ago when i was a newbie i had to hold my hand on my "big" tumm i was laughing so hard how silly to think your shoes might get smaller Then i realized shoe sizes definitely do to happen to many, many people unfortunately i was not one of them now i hold my hand on my "little" tummy still laughing (because i was soooo wrong) now when this subject comes up i hang my head in shame couple of weeks til gastric bypass surgery good luck speedy recovery kathy

Fage greek has 20 gr of protein (luv it) one sweet'n low, few fresh blueberries, top with teeny, teeny bit of granola mix it all together, what does it taste like?????? delicious!!!! quest double chocolate chunk Quest Protein Bars are yummy to my tummy getting back on MFP is terrific accounting for everything you eat, way to go!!! in my opinion, 4 lbs a month is definitely doable one month it might be a little less, another month more following all the rules is key!!! you might hit a stall, but of course don't let that discourage/upset you take you measurements too you have plenty time to show off how good you look at your reunion nice to see you back in the neighborhood don't buy anything that will fit your present weight look forward to the day you will be able to wear those sexy jeans again welcome back you are a site for sore eyes!!! good luck bud your friend kathy

" physical problems presently preventing you from going to the gym sorry about your back/spine/degenerate disc can you go swimming at the Y?? don't think membership would cost too much?? there are DVD "chair" exercises they are initially made for older people (seniors) people might have problems standing and other things tapes work just as well for younguns'! tapes are good (i used for awhile prior to weight loss ) embarrassed about using a tape for seniors ??? get over it! i promise i won't tell anyone exercising is definitely recommended good for you mentally and physically many, many people love exercising et al it is wonderful that being said....... many people don't exercise, and they still are successful confession is good for the sole i never got big time into exercising i turned out okl in other words you can still lose weight without exercise if i promoted not exercising i would surely be tarred and feathered!! LOL parents paid for surgery they love you and wanted to help wonderful gift but that doesn't mean your parents "own" and can/should watch you like a hawk that must be a lot of pressure on you if your parents don't know your physical issues tell them!!! they need to understand you are following what you are supposed to do as long as you are doing your best - that is all that can be expected of you i'm "sure" you are continuing to eat, drink, follow allll the rules, righttttt? drinking at least 64 oz of water a day stop drinking 30 minutes or so before you eat never drink while you are eating don't eat for 45-60 minutes after you eat chew thoroughly, slowly protein first measuring your foods etc keep track of everything you eat you "probably" knew all this thought i''d remind you if you "might" have needed a kick in the butttt do you have a NUT you can talk to?? could you pay someone for a couple of times for good information/help for you look into support groups you can be 1 on 1 with others talking about problems/getting answers to questions general discussion about surgery you had it is hard at times not to get upset about things/stalls/life don't eat badly because you are upset/disappointed/discouraged (i know easier said than done ) must continue eating healthy, properly its a forever new lifestyle you did terrific with your weight loss the first 6 months or so be proud stay strong i have confidence you can do this welcome back to the neighborhood good luck kathy
