    @@jusstice being aware of your problems is 1/2 way to victory, success nothing you (or anyone) can do about the past its done and over with being honest, taking responsibility for your bad choices this can/is hard to do but you did it!!!! you have mmmmany new, great days/weeks/years ahead of you you are working on your future continue to follow all the rules in the WLS "bible" you know what to do you did it before you have a great attitude and determination in your voice hold on to that it is helpful (couldn't hurt ) you gained a bit of weight but you lost 109 lbs don't cry over spilled Protein shakes (couldn't resist) starting over again....... 9 lbs down!!! 15 inches!! party dance party dance keep up the great job for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy congrats

    @@amz85 hmmmmm you want a joke? i'm full of it/them there was this newbie that went into VSG pizza shop he was asked .......... "how many slices do you want the pizza to be cut into, 6 or 12??? the newbie thought for a minute and replied............ "please cut into 6 slices, i don't think i should/could eat 12!! sorry you haven't had the best recovery anesthesia - vomiting - yeach yeach I can not relate to your "body pain" doesn't sound fun 3 days PO?? feeling any types of aches and pains do happen to many others too normal/typical feelings of course that doesn't help you any 15 hour drive from Mexico my sympathies do you have a pillow with you?? put it behind your back against the window and try and rest or maybe it would help to hold it over your new tummy?? you might be able to lay down in the back seat and rest/sleep??? hope you have Water bottles with you you must stay hydrated!!!!! if its uncomfortable drinking..... try and PUSH/force yourself to take small sips many sips in short periods of time VERY important you can't afford to get dehydrated stop periodically (gas station etc) to stretch your legs, WALK traveling 15 hours can/is hard enough you must take care of yourself today, tomorrow and always you are the important one on the front burner think positively that you will be home sooner than later hopefully able to lay down and rest/sleep in your own bed but.........once you are home you "might" still be sore,aches and pains bathroom situations, gas??? VERY tired few problems, here and there again........this is normal again, that doesn't help you any take everything slowly saving you room on the recently remodeled losers bench next to me of course!!! good luck kathy

    @@lclemur WARNING WARNING WARNING extra long post, even for me no, no, no!!! pleeease don't run away mad you are the best thing that has happened here (in the past 2 minutes anyways ) when you are reading a thread if you are really interested read all the posts - top to bottom otherwise you might be missing some doozies that i wrote!! this is a wonderful journey you have embarked on hope your thoughts/feelings have been gradually improving the prob with computer boards, texting stuff like that.................. you can't see the other side of the coin/monitor most people hopefully/probably are trying to be helpful their sentences comments unfortunately could be misinterpreted we ARE all wonderful people (especially me ) ask your questions, we love to help all give support especially you'll hear many good comments, suggestion, opinions, experiences but at the end of the day always only listen to your NUT (nutritionist) or your doc or me of course LOL read alllll over the boards you might/probably will find questions/comments that are similar to your situations there is also a SEARCH area on top too hope your spirits have gone upwards, along with your smile some people do get depressed for awhile that they can't eat as much getting used to having to change their eating habits or just sad in general it can be hard finding a place that you can eat properly (family friendly) but many places are out there wendy's is great they have a small chili i love their chicken salad (1/2 size) with pecans (don't have to eat them) vinegerette (msp ) dressing other fast food places too Red Robin sounds like it was a reat choice broccoli, grilled chicken sound great lemonade too yum yum only problem................... why didn't you call me?? sure its true you will not/should not eat toooo much some people do mourn their old eating ways but all that eating you/me/we did in the past got us in the same obesity boat i don't want to sink anymore, how about you?? eating less, drinking more, upping your Protein, and lessening your carbs to name a few we need to live by these rules never killed anyone yet (i don't think) LOL these are things that "normal" people should do too choosing WLS (the sleeve in our case) most people say is the best thing they have done for themselves i totally agree with that statement hope you gradually feel better about stuff (not depressed) might take a while, but what else are you doing?? LOL we're all supposed to be concentrating on ourselves!!! we've got all the time in the world to be successful no hurry - we'll get their in our own time 34 lbs down!!!! party dance, party dance!!! keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy congrats

    Weaning off CPAP

    @@ready2B i started using a CPAP about 5 years ago 2+ years ago i was approaching goal down 100 lbs doc wanted another sleep study test couldn't tell you how it went cuz i was asleep at the time everything went fine doc shortly took me off the machine "cold turkey" good luck with the sleep study test hopefully you'll get an A lost 75 lbs keep up the good job kathy @@joatsaint awwww man that was you?? thank you for correcting the situation 170 lbs down show off!     @ Welcome Welcome Welcome to the board I can only imagine your frustration but the sleeve is working for you, really just at its own rate losing over 10 lbs pre-op is terrific i can only imagine your present frustration you are following plan, doing everything right, saw your NUT too does your NUT have you on Clear liquids, full liquids you are consuming so few calories the weight WILL come off keep doing what you are doing kindof lame expression, but "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" "try" not to be upset (easier said than done ) doesn't help youcan't help will maybe/probably depress you things should get better hopefully sooner than later good luck bud kathy

    @@juliarg this proudgrammy got my first tattoo first letter of my grand-kids names top right wrist (didn't hurt, really!!!!) M organ (14) A ndrew (11) E than(7) one red small heart under each letter letters & hearts each in small italics look amazing hubby (or rest of family) weren't thrilled i PROMISED hubby i wouldn't have another tattoo for the next 58 years 6 months later i got another tattoo above my right ankle SURVIVOR (which i have proudly been for 15 years and counting ) side note - i have a vanity license plate that has the letters CA SURVIVOR the word survivor is also my password in email my mom is 85 years old she loves butterflies, has pictures, items of butterflies throughout her apartment last year i got a beautiful small tattoo of a butterfly above the word survivor looks beautiful recap there will be a test!! MAE survivor butterfly all on my right side again i promised hubby i would not ever have another tattoo hmmmm, probably really no more @@juliarg didn't forget about you you have and will continue to do terrific 69 lbs down Onderland Century Club what more could you ask for wellll, i guess that last 49 lbs that will happen in time "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It" keep up the great job good luck kathy congrats

    @@deb1327 so happy for that you will be covered by medicare i went on early retirement disability in 2011 too many orthopedic issues i was only 53 i had worked for the state of ny for 30 years this made medicare my primary secondary was BCBS sleeve was not covered then by medicare you are such a smart cookie you already knew that was considered "experimental" after many "discussions" with BCBS, they approved me they didn't at first since my primary (medicare didn't approve me) they felt they shouldn't cover it either i know medicare finally accepted the sleeve a couple of years ago that makes it much easier for you wish they had accepted back when............. i was a little late, and a dollar short But BCBS ins covered all, no co-pay even so all finally was successfully done good luck with sleeve surgery i love my sleeve (it loves me back ) Good Luck kathy

    @@jayhawk1965 when i reached goal this "cool" grammy got her first tattoo On my right wrist i had the first letter of my grand-kids put on in small italic under each letter i had a small red he M (organ A (ndrew) E (than) i don't have a heart emoticon DH wasn't too thrilled promised him i wouldn't have another tattoo for the next 58 years 6 months later i got a small tattoo of a butterfly on my right ankle mom is 85 and loves butterflies so i will always have a momento of her few weeks later i had the word survivor tattooed in small italic letters above the butterflly this word celebrates my life for the past 15 years and counting promised hubby no more tattoos (probably/maybe ) kathy

    Am I drinking too fast?

    @@liannatx 6 day post op i think you should slow down with your drinking take small sips this is possibly the only time we say don't drink too much at a time or too much for the day since you are drinking slowly i am pretty sure that post op "for a while, few weeks" i was told to take sips of Water very slowly NUT told me i could gradually drink more at a time til i could gulp when time has past drink so much water up to your eyeballs the more the better @@Elode and others are able to drinks 128 oz of water a day that's a lot of water i envy her i can't drink that much i get my 64 - 96 oz, usually at leaat 64 you'll hear good answers to many questions we're all very smart at the end of the day always listen to your NUT good luck bud continued good recovery kathy

    @@donald0717 no one should go into any surgery with their head in the sand you should be aware of the possibilities of problems no surgeries come with 100% guarentees only guarantees in life death and taxes i think when people read 2 different stories about anything (ie the sleeve) they hear a great story then a bad story the bad story seems to stick out in your their mind/memory you've probably seen many other posts from pre-oppers that are also extremely scared the smaller % of people having bad problems are far and few between one person in particular has been going through a very rough time here being scared is normal/comman I give you "permission" to be nervous/scared that being said - most stories, experiences are good you've hopefully read/seen many, many, many posts from people that are very happy with their results their journey is wonderful i think some times people don't speak of their great experience, success, happiness etc PO maybe they think their situation is boring do we really want to hear more good things that are you betcha IMO there is soooo much more good than bad that will happen post op you were very excited/ "confident" about saving your life with weight loss surgery health and happiness are all what they are cracked up to be don't second guess yourself now, plllease good luck kathy

It's good to read nutrition labels @proudgrammy again (this is fun) my comment about not eating ANY/or low fats was incorrect/spoke too quickly I DO read labels "usually"/always/sometimes mainly always, really main food that comes to mind no fat Fage 0% plain fat free greek yogurt i eat this frequently my go to food Other side of the coin I eat regular hellmanns mayo (only take a teeny bit) the low fat has lots more sugar in it don't have a btl so can't list contents i'm smiling all the way to the grocery store wanna join me? still friends bud?? kathy

    It Literally Pays to Know Your Insurance

    insurance paid $1,600.00 - my portion to... ZERO! @@Sharon1964 take a bow bud you questioned the insurance company moved ahead with your phone calls discussions about the procedures talking to a rep waited for a written response........ mail finally arrived..... you didn't owe a penny!!! how great is that - and you too!! I always hand the phone to hubby he doesn't mind dealing with the ins co while i deal with my frustrations hubby is willing to put up with the insurance company and with me too!!!! hubby is VERY smart he married me didn't he!! congrats on starting your new healthier, happier, longer life who deserves it more good luck with surgery kathy

    I got hair today!

    @@Elode my hair was always thin and straight i was one of the lucky ones that really didn't loose any hair PO it did get a little thinner though i have always wondered about hair extensions would they work with short hair?? or do you need more length to be able to put them in?? might sound like a silly but.............. as long as you take care of the extensions do you need to wash after awhile do these extensions last forever?? or do you have to replace after a period of time?? you always looked like a cutie now even more sorry you couldn't get your weight under your profile pic corrected (hint hint for any any one who can help with that??) @@Alex Brecher are you around??? @@Elode 61 lbs down!!! keep up the good job i know you will kathy

    What did your family say?

    @@KF2007 your sister "might" surprise you she knows you've been unhappy etc from what you've said about her she "might" comment about losing in different ways than surgery whatever she says - you've probably already done it in the long run you've made your wise decision to have WLS what a smart cookie you are!! so if she is not happy/maybe even mean oh well you don't need her approval try not to be scared of telling her the sooner you have your talk, the better when i told my 4 siblings they were very happy for me supportive beginning to end and now through maintenance oh no............ i almost forgot hubby and daughter were great and always supportive too my now 85 year old mom was also thrilled about me having surgery she was screaming in her happiness jumping so high, almost hitting our 9 ft ceiling!! but............... her happiness was for different reason (I think) she was always my biggest critic always "reminding" me about my weight situation (like i didn't know) her excitement stemmed from her being disappointed/upset in me appearance speaking she took me shopping one day many years ago in the middle of an area, she yelled to a sales person asking where the clothes are for overweight people i could have died!! of course i'm speaking for her thoughts who knows maybe i'm wrong but i'm not wrong don't worry my friends, she is a big topic in my therapy sessions its ok, that i complain/bitchhh but, after all is said and done she will always be my mom, through good and bad and i stilll love her (usually LOL) maybe i said too much about my personal issues but if i can't tell my wonderful fellow sleevers, who can i tell? thanx for listening i feel so much better now LOL kathy @@KF2007 I didn't forget you were the subject LOL good luck with sis stand tall and firm kathy
