    Scared please help

    @@wittti this is a medical issue that you must discuss with your family doc, and then surgeon if you are told by docs its ok to proceed with surgery thats great but i can only imagine that the enlarged heart issue is scary talk to your doc in length about this very important decision yay, or nay if your doc says no, i would listen to him but if he says its ok, take a long time to think the surgery over health issues improved/disapper frequently for many no more diabetes, high blood pressure, CPAP for me having weight loss surgery (sleeve) is the best thing i ever did lost 105 lbs 1 year PO for the past 2.5 years i've been at goal fluctuate at times, but all is well good luck with your decision kathy

  4. @@lynneanne IMO Water rules are very important to follow my nut told me to stop drinking 15-30 minutes before i eat do not drink for 45-60 minutes after i eat do not drink while i eat always drink at least 64 oz H20 a day analogy concerning gumbo Soup..... i asked NUT if i could have Cereal nut said i could with a teeeeeny bit of milk on top having cereal w/milk is like having soup with gumbo or like drinking while you are eating my first week post-op my husband had found a bunch of "sweetheart" pills he would "serve" me Mrs. Grass chicken Soup (broth) it has a pkg of noodles in a small bag which he omitted one time by accident he put the noodles in i ate it with out thinking not a good idea!!! being a newbie it is essential you follow all the rules after that you must continue to follow the rules, and continue and.......... i am 3.5 years PO (2.5 years GOAL) i wait 30-45 minutes after i eat before i drink i don't eat for 15 minutes after i drink i "might" have a couple of sips of water while i am eating i do have cereal w/milk once a week i'm not perfect...welllll actually That is my story and i'm sticking to it!!! good luck in sleeveland kathy

    @@msash06 glad he is supportive no frying pan required smells are bothering you?? what about using clothes pins?? probably wouldn't work your nose would look funny if the cooking "situation" won't change guess you are stuck with the wonderful smells deal with it??!!! just my "attempt" at a silly joke no offense intended good luck kathy

    anyone else still cook for their family @@msash06 congrats on your first post you are cooking for S.O. ?? are his hands broken?? i would take a frying pan and hit him over his head is it possible that he could join you in eating better, healthier foods?? glad you have support from others i hope your S.O. can get on the band wagon too with support explain to better half you cooking for him and yummy smells are hard to deal with making meals for him is torture just to mention............my hubby fends for himself otherwise i would use that frying pan too good luck kathy

    @@Aiynjel i am sorry this happened to you the doc/hospital handled the situation terribly have you talked to doc about your future with surgery he understands you will always be around other smokers will he still agree to perform surgery eventually? if doc doesn't want to do surgery, fine if his mind is made up, so be it don't "beg" him to do surgery you don't want someone performing surgery if his heart is not "in" it dry your eyes you must go forward don't cry over spilled Protein shake you must seek out another dr don't throw in the towel call your insurance office immediately ask how the delay will effect your time period/approval exceptions be made due to cancellation ? quick research find another doc ASap unfortunately this will take time hopefully labs, approvals of psych etc could be transferred to new doc don't give up!!!! it will take longer to have surgery in the end it will be worth it stay strong i have never been a smoker but this situation doesn't sound fair GOOD LUCK kathy

    @@Band07 its been quite an adventure for you glad hospital "people" were good to you i do understand the roller coaster ride tired, little weak etc sorry you are dealing with this emotionally draining, sure you just had surgery remember you and poor little tummy are adjusting you "probably" didn't have enough sick time, or boss said you must come back to work??? even though you are at work, try and take it slow you might not have any choice drink - you must stay hydrated you don't want to faint from not enough Water is there any chance you can ask your boss if you can work 1/2 days for a week??? does she know you had surgery??? the 3rd time is often the charm hope this mini gastric bypass works to your liking "check" on you later good luck kathy

    @@JenniferZacharie06 welcome, welcome and welcome pre-op/post op down 139 lbs that is great!! holy moly what a wonderful accomplishment glad you had such a wonderful experience in the hospital after surgery great help/support/attention in the hospital (were you in Mexico?) pants, shoes, blouses, and the "girls" all gone down in size good luck on your road to a healthier, happier, longer life who deserves it more see you around the neighborhood kathy congrats

    @@Felicia Corrales Gonzales i can only imagine the strength/decication it took to care for your mom these past 4 years condolences on your loss you realize you want/need to change the history of obesity in your family good for you on wanting to get healthier, and happier for YOU hubby and kids et al will "feel" your success not loosing any more weight??? not "sneaking" pizza, or ice cream et al?? sorry bud i had to ask if you are drinking the above, not eating you must/will loose weight i have confidence in you fingers & toes crossed May 4th, VSG keep drinking shakes and water might flow up to your eyes!!!! do what you gotta do the necessary weight should come off good luck with surgery speedy recovery kathy
  19. @@CheleLynn45 your above statement says so much you "probably"/might have celebrated with food in the past a bicycle ride?? are you kidding me? look at you now 25 happy comments (NSV's) get a new sheet of paper to write the next 25+++ another NSV for you keeping great records of weight/measurements/accomplishments 91 lbs down!!! your glow is shining through my monitor (just put my sunglasses on!! ) past 6 months have been amazing, it can/will only get better keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life kathy congrats

    @@ShrinkingPeach in WLS and throughout life you joined in April 2 posts under your belt WELCOME, WELCOME always room for one more great hubby to help straighten the insurance issues approval!!! woo hoo!! he'll be in your corner helping/supporting you PO (and forever) he's a keeper my advice - in 10 words or less READ, READ, READ - then read some more go to U-Yube knowledge is power!! come to these boards often with your questions go to the SEARCH area in the top right hand corner people are very nice, helpful, informative, and supportive you'll hear different experiences from people at the end of the day, listen to your doc/NUT (or me) Look, Learn, Listen (mom told me that when i was 4 years old LOL) some rules to follow practice makes perfect drink Water all day (at least 64 oz) stop drinking 30 minutes before you eat don't drink throughout your meal don't drink for 45-60 minutes after you finish eating chew your food very slowly eat your Protein first (ie chicken, fish) limit carbs, sugar controversy concerning drinking soda and coffee soda - yes or no coffee concerns too i can safely say all docs tell you that you MUST stop smoking check and listen to your doc/NUT phew, i'm tired this is the end of your first lesson there will be a test in one week don't want to overwhelm you with too many rules you'll eventually learn more 28 lbs down!!!! 4 lbs from twoderville!!! hope your surgery date is sooner than later good luck on your never ending journey kathy

    @@Big Opie almost 3 years ago i reached goal down 105 lbs i was 58 years YOUNG i noticed that my rear end+ had a lot of sagging skin definitely firmed up a "bit" within a few months age does matter in this case being a youngun - your skin "should" tighten up for the better you'll probably still have some hanging skin "DEAL WITH IT" a little hanging skin won't kill you being overweight can good luck with your decision about having surgery decision, decisions, decisions kathy
