  1. I am scared too. My belly button gets no air and sweats so I have to clean it out everyday and keep a paper towel in it to keep the moisture out. My tummy is starting to hang. I want it done, but plastic surgeons scare me.
  2. I don't have a goal. The Doctor said 180, and I said 160, but I also did not know I was 71 inches! I am going to land where I land. I would be fine where I am, just getting into better shape. I would be happy around 160, but I don't think I would be happy under 160 or maybe even under 170. I don't know. I still think I am chubby now.
  3. I had a nervous breakdown this weekend. It is so stupid, but I was deeply distraught, and I don't know what happened. I am 5'11" I went to get my body fat done and the woman measured me and she said you are 71 inches. I just said her height thing was wrong, and I am 70 inches. I have been 70 inches since I can remember. So I go to my grandmother's and my aunt measures me. I am 71 inches!!!!!!!!! When did this happen? I mean NOT ONE DOCTOR ever said 71 inches. I can't really recall when the last time I was actually measured. I am not 5'10" I am 5'11" I am a GIANT. And I lost 100 pounds as of TODAY!
  4. I had a small fever for a couple of days. Doctor said it was normal. It was about 99 to 100.
  5. I need a new mattress! That will be my skinny girl no more saggy mattress gift to me.
  6. Don't buy a lot. You will lose more and it is a BIG waste of Money. I literally am down to 3 dresses, two pairs of pants and one shirt that fit right now. I am getting rid of everything else. When those get too big I am going to go naked. Shopping at a thrift store sucks because sizes are all over the place. I have 14 stuff if anyone wants it!
  7. If anyone has anything or Large Dresses or anything or anything or anything. Pants, Jeans - I am just tall so TALLS would be great. I have some 14 stuff. Will ship right away!
  8. I have some 14 things available. Just pay shipping. Mostly Lane Bryant and some other things. Will ship them right away!
  9. I need size 10 and 12. I have some 14 stuff if anyone wants it. I also have some Vitamins and other protien stuff I am not using.
  10. I just want a root beer or birch beer or ginger ale. I don't believe it will do anything to you, but I am scared. I had a sip here and there, but that was it. I love a fountain soda!
  11. If someone is eating 1200 calories and losing it is because thier body is burning more calories than they are consuming. You have to find what calorie count works for YOU. The nutritionist says 1200, but I believe this is what normal women who do not have the sleeve and who are not fat should eat. Maybe this will be my maintenance place, but this is not my losing place. I have read MANY doctor's posts on MANY different websites and they say the reason why you lose so much in the beginning is because you should be around 500 calories a day. For the first six months I was between 500 and 600. I can eat up to 1000 now, but DO NOT EVEN TRY TO COME CLOSE TO THAT. The liquid diet I tried with this hospital before I thought about surgery had you consuming around 600 to 800 calories a day.
  12. Ok I do believe some days I can eat more - A LOT MORE - and I have learned why...I feel like there is more restriction in the AM or the First Meal so I do not push it AT ALL. I eat one to two pieces of string cheese in the morning. I can get hungry around 12, but I try to push it until 2 and drink a yummy lemonade crystal light with lotsa ice...if I do eat earlier I try not to eat lunch, but stick to a 100 calorie snack like a bananna. Then I eat lunch at two which makes it easier to have a later dinner and not be hungry at night. I get home around 7pm and eat and then if 11 rolls around and I am hungry I eat a cucumber. My two pieces of string cheese are 80 calories each, my bananna is about 100 calories. My lunch I stick between 250 to 350 calories...if it is 350 it better be a lot of food so I am not hungry when I get home, but most of the time it is 300. Then dinner is also 300. So if i eat a snack to stay under 1000 calores a cucumber and light dressing. Most of the time my meals don't equal 300 calories as if it is just meat I might only be at 200, and I honestly try to avoid the snack before a 2pm meal. So really 90% of the time I eat two pieces of string cheese, a lunch and dinner. Which may equal around 700 to 800 calories. I only stalled once, and I had a very bad cold. I have always lost. And this is with NOT working out. I wanted to get down a few more pounds before I unleash the beast. When I work out I GET HUNGRY! I eat whatever I want for a meal to meet the 250 to 350 calories...most of the time it is baked chicken, with mashed potatoes and gravy. I sometimes get ribs or chicken salad and always have full fat. Calories are not the same, but you do have to count and I feel you should be below 1000 in order to lose. But if you are not muscular you might have to be lower than 1000. You have to create a big defecit so your body eats your fat. I am going to get a DEXA body fat test next week to see what my true body fat % is. That should help me determine a realistic goal for me. I am feeling a little hungry...Time for Lemonade Crystal Light - OMG it is so good!
  13. Does anyone have above average platelet volume. Got my blood work back. I am Vitamin D deficient, but so is everyone that doesn't live in Florida Everything else looked good... High Salt...and Large Platelet Volume. I have been looking on line and can't seem to find much. If there were something else wrong with me than it might be something...but because everything is normal with the exception of the MPV there is nothing it could stem from. Just thought I would throw this out there to see if anyone else ever had this.
  14. I am probably going to have my thighs and butt done. I don't care so much about a flat tummy I like it to be mushy, but a bathing suit for the first time ever is a must. I just wish there were more people talking about it on this site...As this kind of doctor is WAY more scary than finding a VSG doctors. A lot of these surgeries are outpatient and in the doctor's office...NOT A HOSPITAL. So I am getting worried about who to choose, but I will see where I am in June, make an appointment and find out the cost. I don't mind the scars so much. They fade over time. You can still see them, but you could have a scar from anything.
  15. Sleeved 6/13/2011 - Almost 9 months ago, and I am down 99 pounds!
  16. I don't believe anything is wrong with you, and I see myself there in a few more months. I have talked many times on this board about losing too much weight. I know my body very well. I am still in the losing phase and want to get ride of about 15 to 30 more pounds...Not sure where I want to stop, but I can see my patterns now, and I really think it has to do with eating more throughout the day. I can go hours and hours and hours without eating. I would take a week and eat more throughout the day. I don't even know how I would consume more, but i tried it yesterday as a dry run. I woke up eating, and I went to bed eating. I still didn't even get 1200 calories in, but a lot of what I ate was crap. I will be looking at avacados, potatoes and rice to build on. I already eat them now, but I will make sure I add them to all meals and snacks. I do not diet at all right now, but I just can not consume enough calories in the day because I am not really trying. Yesterday I felt stuffed all day, but I figure in a few more moths maybe I will be able to eat a bit more. I want to try to stay away from bad fats and sugar as we can still be unhealthy. Let me know what works for you!
  17. The staples stay in there right? That is what I thought. Your stomach just covers them up and bonds back together like two pieces of skin eventually bond back. I am not sure on this though...This is what I thought. This is so unknown and the answers vary from person to person. Even if they don't know everyone should just assume 6 weeks. On that report they did where all the surgeons got together they called a leak after 6 weeks a late leak so I figure a late leak means you should be healed by 6 weeks. I have heard from 3 to 6 weeks.
  18. I am not sure about the whole lightweight thing. I feel the same as I did pre surgery. I probably had my first drink 4 months out at a reunion. I don't drink very often. I don't drink carbonated beverages and even though so many people on here think that it is BS (and so do I) I still can't help wondering...What it the Doctor's are right! So I just don't drink them which eliminates my favorite drink - Champagne! I am drinking this weekend for a bachlorette party.
  19. From the calculations to be around 20% Body fat would be a weight of 167 given my current body fat % now. 160 might be too low for me. I think I am going to find a dunk tank to find my true body fat percentage. I only have 26 pounds to get to 167. That is so freakin close! I really hope I do not go below 160!
  20. I still want to lose 20 to 30 more pounds. I am still losing about two pounds per week, but I also do not restrict my food at all. I never did. I eat whatever I want, so I am slightly worried about stopping. From my posts over the last 8 months this has always been my fear. I did stall for 3 weeks over christmas, but I had a terrible cold and someone on the board said you can stall when you are sick. I guess I will just see where I am in a couple of months. I can only eat a little bit, especially that first meal of the day. Things tend to get looser towards the end of the day, and I can see I get the majority of my calories at night, but it still is under 1000...Most of the time around 800 or less. I guess I could try to up my calories, but I am not sure how I would do that. I just measured myself for Body Fat (based on the military test) and I am at 27%. Losing 33 pounds and getting to 160 might be unrealistic and borderline unhealthy. I haven't even started working out yet. I am slightly worried if I start to work out I will not be able to consume enough calories to maintain a proper body weight.
  21. Mine is still coming out...No new growth yet...I am at month 8 and am still losing!
  22. What month did you stop losing? If you went under your goal did you gain some back? I am at month 8. I have 33 pounds to go to 160. Totally doable, but just want to know when your body stopped FOR GOOD. Not a stall.
  23. I had my surgery on June 13th and have lost 98 pounds. I currently weigh 193 pounds and have 33 pounds left to reach my final goal of 160.
