  1. I was sleeved June 7,2011. I am down almost 65 lbs with pre-op loss. I am logging my food on MyFitnessPal. I average about 1500 calories a day, with about 100 grams of crabs. The crabs are much easier going down than the dense Proteins. I had been exercising about 3 days a week until I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago – got to get back to the gym. The last couple of weeks I have been experiencing almost like a “dumping” type response when I eat chocolate or anything with really high sugar content. I didn’t have these reactions early on in my journey. Did any of you develop “dumping”or have you had it since day one? This is still the best thing I ever did for myself. The first couple of weeks are rough, but life is good. Now I am talking to me more than you, This is just a tool to control your intake of food, it still comes down to diet and exercise…sorry for all of us looking for the easy way out, it ain’t gonna happen! Goodlick to all the Jewels of June! If you haven’t been sleeved, stop messing around. Monday ain’t coming – JUST DO IT!
  2. Ijust got over the stomach virus. My wife just had diarrhea and nausea forthree days. I had both plus server stomach cramps for 4 days. They would takeyour breath away. Went to my surgeon (scheduled appointment), they said thiswas normal. All better now, I hope you get to feeling better.

    CPAP Issues

Irecently got a new CPAP machine after 8 years with the old one. The firstcouple of night I did not sleep well at all. I compared the airflow of my new machine to my old one and itseemed kid of low. I goggled how to adjust the airflow and found it prettyquick. It was easy and simple. I would recommend you adjust it yourself. Itwould take another sleep study, follow up appointment, $$$$$$$$$ for the MDworld to figure out what you need…….Good luck

    A spiritual friends thoughts

Hi, I too am a Christian. I prayed and prayed for years for the Lords help with my weight loss. 70 lbs higher and 8 years later, I had my VSG. I tried several different diets and weight loss programs during the last eight years and gained 70 lbs. We I started the journey to surgery and pray about this also, I asked God to stop the path at any time. But most important, it is written: Proverbs 3:6 New Living Translation (NLT) 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. The promise is: if we seek, he will! it is also written: Proverbs 23:2 New International Version (NIV) 2 and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony. A knife to your throat means do something serious, like five holes in your belly. Acknowledge him and he will direct your path.............believe in the WORD!
  5. Day 6 myself, the first few days are ROUGH. I consider myself a pretty tough guy, by that was not an easy couple of days. Like everyone said, it will get better. That was the only thing I had to hold onto the first couple of days. I am still not to the stage that I wish I had done this sooner, but I get closer every day! Once I followed everyones advice, things got better-----crystal light, warm drinks, don't worry to much about the 64 oz the first couple of days, gas-x, pain meds, walk, sip, nap, more gas-x, did I mention pain meds........ Hang in there lady, you will make it. I will be praying for you, I promise!
  6. Thank goodness I am not alone! It is getting better day by day. I find it much easier to drink standing up,can still be funky, but better.
  7. I am pot op day 3 (sleeved 6.7.10), when does the swallowingdiscomfort/resistance stop? I am getting about 60 – 70 oz of liquid with about60 to 80 grams of protein. When can I swallow normal? Other than that, feelingbetter everyday. Sipping/walking/napping/sipping/walking/resting…….
  8. Hey, I am new here too. I got sleeved on Tues 6.7.11. I find it hard to swallow also. Not sore, just like it will not go down. I find it a little easier to swallow if I am standing up. I have read and watched several youtube videos about how rough these first few days really can be. I will have to agree. We have to remember, we are a couple of days into our journey and it was major surgery.
