Looking for support
sweetie333 replied to fromheadtotoe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
my family is not supportive too but I am blessed by knowing such wonderful ladies in this site. they are angels and they support each other from the heart. but I think you should have some relative or neighbour with you during surgery. best wishes for a speedy and smooth recovery. my thoughts and prayers for you. -
my scars are visible but not that bad. I am afraid they will get darker but let us wait and see. my doctor prescribed Contractubex 20g gel. he advised using it for 3 months twice daily.

I can managa anything too and I am about 17 days out of surgery. but only little. it is just the burping sensation and gurgling which is annoying me. I hope this will vanish one day.

I know exactly what you are talking about. but I have an idea for the apple and pineapple juice. first they have to be sugar free. then I usually put 1/4 of a cup juice then continue with water, so it is diluted. what about soups? . my doctor put me on clear liquid diet for one month:(( I am losing but I am so fed up. anyway only 10 days to go. 20 days are over already. I know I don't want to mess with the staple line. but I will try JELLO tonight. I loved SF popsicles though. may be try a different flavor. I know everybody is different. my doctor also did not mention anything about Protein shakes in the first month and when I asked him, he said NO protein shakes at this phase. he said are you trying to gain weight??. He said after 30 days I can think of taking one Protein shake daily. -
I would like to know what is the 5 day pouch test and when should it be performed? thanks all

when to start protein shakes and when to stop?
sweetie333 posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
hi all, my doctor advised me to stay away from protein shakes first month. I can see all people here take protein shakes or isopure. when should I incorporate them in my diet. is it during the puree soft food stage. I think we have to take them temporarily until we are able to get our proteins from regular solid food. also I am lost in so many flavours? which one is the best? chocolate? banana? caramel? cappuccino? waiting for your replies love you all. -
Depression After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
sweetie333 replied to Bob_350lbs's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am depressed cuz I miss food so much. it provided so much comfort. now it is painful even to drink and disgusting to keep hearing this gurgling sound all the time. also my sexual drive is way increasing and I am still the same single girl which is not nice feeling by any means. I am sorry for mentioning this. I dont mean to sabotage anyone but after surgery is not that easy. -

Congratulations. it is normal to feel a bit nervous and excited. I wish you a speedy and smooth recovery. Take Care Plz. -
I urinate normally too. ofcourse less than before cuz I am struggling to get in my water. but if you don't, it can be a sign of inadequate water intake so drink more. I am afraid to get a gall stone so much.

I removed my stitches today too. they are healing nicely. the doctor prescribed for me an ointment called contractubex which will decrease scarring of the wounds. he said I have to take it for 3 months. I am doing better at drinking. I can almost drink normally. I drink sugar free stuff for sure. the thing is I have soups. I prefer water and juice. you know this clear liquid soup is very boring. I prefer cream chicken or cream mushroom soup but I am not allowed yet to move to full liquids so just patience. I went back to my work yesterday. my energy level is fine and I hardly feel any hunger which is strange. just a bit heart burn lately. I think this is expected..right? -
Dear all, I got finally sleeved on 29/10/2009. everything went fine so far and as expected. the worest part of it was in the recovery room and as soon as I get to my room, they got me under control with medication. I am very thankful to my dr. so far. I am trying to get in my fluids. I don't want to get dehydrated for sure. it is ok. I have headache every now and then but again controlled by medication. watery diarrhea which was expected from what I read from your valuable informative posts. I did gastrographin meal and they said it is fine and no leak could be detected thank god which is our major concern. my laparoscopy ports are fine except for some soreness felt over the drain port which is tolerable sure. I have no problems getting in my fluids. I feel this gurgling after I drink my water only. I LOVE SOUP. my doctor wants me to stay on liquid diet for one month and he did not insist on protein shakes at all at this stage. he told me our main goal is to keep u hydrated and make you lose the most. I still have head hunger. I still imagine myself ordering a Big Mac but no way I will sabotage my surgery as I already feel a bit guilty about my decision as regards having just to throw a part of you. they gave me my stomack in a jar. I kinda little grieve these days when I really really enjoyed my meals. I hope in the future I will be able to enjoy my small delicious meals without problem. I read many of you having this intolerance to solid foods when you get to this stage. is it true for everybody?? is it just a stage and it will get better by time?

I would not call that diarrhea too. we are only taking liquids so liquids in liquids out. I am definitely fine with that. totally expected. what I really hate is constipation.
