    Should I have high expectations?

I think yes . you can do it definitely. I lost 57 pounds in 3 monthes and half. I don't really exercise. if you exercise, you will get less stalls than I do.

Nexium, Hunger and my 2 cents

I need to ask for how long should we take this nexium or prilosec? any side effects on the long run? I am ready to take anything which will not make me hungry. Thanks all.

Nexium, Hunger and my 2 cents

do u take nexium everyday or only when you are not feeling ok?
  6. sweetie333

    did you know....

I am very concerned since I heard about gastric stump carcinoma there is no enough studies about VSG specifically and development of gastric stump carcinoma.
  7. Dear my friends, I am 3 months and one week out, being sleeved on 29 October 2009. I lost so far 50.4 pounds. I am feeling great. But I still have to lose 42 pounds to have a NORMAL BMI which is my dream? Do u think this is possible? and from your experience what do u suggest to make my dream come true? I Love you all. I eat almost everything by the time being but little. I do cheat sometimes unfortunately but nothing to be compared with pre-surgery era. I can take a chocolate snack once a week:thumbdown:.

Congratulationssssssss! When I reach a BMI of 25, I will make a big party.
  11. thanks a lot for sharing this
  12. ya, I noticed that too!! and I am happy about it. cuz at those busy days, I eat little to compensate for some bad days when I do nothing but obsessing about food. I love it when my sleeve tell me to stop! I wish that last forever.
  13. sweetie333

    Food obsession?

yes it will leave. I experienced the same that early post operative. actually, I would call that curiosity. I was CURIOUS about testing my sleeve with all possible kind of food stuff. but when I was done, I no longer obsess at all.

    I can't take it.....

I had the same problem too although I was not taking any antacids or nexium. it is an early sign of dehydration. just try to sip sip and sip. it will subside so soon. I remember I had a very bad breath odour and was always embarrased and brushing my teeth. it disappeared thank god.
  15. definitely,I gained 6-7 pounds back when I was only 3 weeks out of surgery which seemed impossible. but dont worry, you will lose them soon. they are not fat!
  16. I lost 48 pounds. I am not exercising. Just little daily walks. If I exercise, I will lose more. some people I am sure lost more than me. if you include an exercise daily program, YOU WILL LOSE MORE. pray for me to fall in love with exercising daily.

    feeling down and doubtful...

I highly doubt that being sleeved can make me die from malnutrition. actually I eat very good:) I have no problems with almost all food. I can eat anything but little. it is definitely impossible to die from malnutrition. actually I feel I need to be sleeved again to gain more restriction..lol.
  18. How long were you in surgery? 1-2 hours Did you have a private room post op? yes How many days did you stay? 2 days At the worst point, how would you rate your pain? (o-10 with 0 being the least amt of pain) I don't remember being in pain. the drain port was a little sore. I needed to vomit once or twice and I felt I was going to explode the sleeve then the doctor gave me Zofran and it was great relief. I took it only once. What kind of pain killers did they use? Did they work? I took in hospital Lumetacin IM injection but when I came back home, I did not take any. I was feeling very good. I did not need to take any. What did you do to pass the time? (I don't like to sit for long and I will walk the hospital all day long if they let me) walking, watching TV, talking to the great nurses. What did you take for entertainment? Anything? I missed that. I would have taken my laptop.
  19. the same exactly happened with me. I was frustrated cuz I was barely eating anything well, the good news, after this stall the weight start coming off and I am losing inches. I still wish I can lose faster but thank god so far.
  20. I am two months out and I am starting to cheat..not much but I do. I take little pieces of bread, french fries, little piece of cake. I hate myself for this. I should stop doing this. they pass really normal like anything else. i don't cheat everyday but I do every now and then. also I ate mixed nuts last two days. they are healthy but I am afraid they will sabotage my weight loss efforts. I will not take them again.
  21. can u share with me old sleevers how much lbs you lost in your first month? thanks. can't wait to see myself size12-14!!! I am 22 at the moment.
  22. sweetie333

    Question for women

yes I experienced that! I was just finished with my menses before surgery then after surgery I was menstruating again then there was spotting for almost one month. after one month and half, it is regular again, so I guess this is normal some hormonal imbalance. now at two months out, everything is perfect so don't worry.
  23. well, i noticed when I overfill my sleeve, it is more difficult to burp so you must leave a little empty place. also my sister helps me by hitting me on my back:) really she is doing it all the time and I love it:)

    snacking

Thanks all for your reply. it really helped. you are all doing so great and you are inspiring. you all lost 40 plus something pounds. I am so proud of all of you. Keep the good work up.

    snacking

ya I know that! cakes are easy! I also take one fruit a day usually apple is my favorite. I can eat one small banana but I don't know I don't like it like before surgery. apple dont make me constipate and go down very easily and are filling me up. apple has always been my favorite fruit:). mixed nuts are wonderful. they are useful but I know I should slow down and take only a handful of those. lots of best wishes and luck.
