  1. The only thing she will let me do is swim. Staring at tiles makes me crazy ... It has to do with the whole hip rotation thing. The muscles right along the lower spine at this point have just begun to start firing. At this point, part of my PT is to lay on my back with my legs bent slowly swaying side to side. 10 minutes of that kicks my butt. It's ridiculous, but I just keep doing what I can to get back at it. I'll get there, but just like eating post-VSG, I have to progress slowly.
  2. Yay! I talked to my physical therapist yesterday when she thought I would be able to get back in the game. She said end of April ... oye I curse at every runner out there when I drive to work. I know ... I'm terrible.
  3. Why? Corn syrup isn't bad ... From what I understand, people just don't understand this is another "sugar", so, when they look at ingredient lables, they don't realize the true amount of sugar in something. Corn syrup is just as natural occuring as sugar. No better or worse than sugar. Just like everything, know what you are taking in and everything in moderation.
  4. I absoutely love your response. I just recently posted on another thread the importance of just being honest and forthright with what you are feeling. With what is going on inbetween your ears. Now, you don't have to guess where they are coming from and they don't have to guess either. You have set expectations and everyone know what they are. As I posted before, it amazes me how we can't share come of the biggest things that occupy space in our brains and expect our partners to know what is going on. Keep this attitude all through your relationships and (one day) marriage.
  5. I don't want a closed forum, either. All should be able to read, but posting is another thing ...
  6. And Miss Laura is sporting a new avatar ... nice. But no pics in the gallery ... time to join the site, Laura.
  7. Love your attitude, Frank. Congrats!
  8. I have been under 3 times since my VSG. Not a problem. As Amazon points out, having a smaller stomach is completely unrelated. If anything, it actually helps the anesthesiologist know that you have been put under before. That is the biggest factor they worry about. Putting someone under who has never been under before.
  9. I don't think anybody is upset ... are you picking that up somewhere?
  10. Yeah, that was my story, too. I went to Las Vegas (baby!) for $10,400. 2 years ago, I was quoted $35K for Emma Patterson ... crazy ...
  11. It sounds like you are doing everything right, for sure. Your body may need some more liquids, though, if you are working out hard, expending liquids, yet are consistently having constipation issues. Perhaps add some chia seeds to the diet? I have heard wonderful things from folks who use them about keeping them regular.
  12. Pick up one of these
  13. Sounds to me like you know exactly what you need to do ... try the Nike approach ...
  14. I'm just thinking about the swimming thing. I was told 6 - 8 weeks ... unless you're OK with not swimming the ENTIRE time you are in the Caribbean ...
  15. Stop comparing yourself. You are not like others. Listen to your NUT and your body. Eat a well balanced meal.
  16. Indeed! Or lighten up the picture a bit ... a little closer ... Looks like a cigar laying in a dark velvet case or something ...
  17. You are from the Portland Metro area as well? Let me extend a warm welcome to a fellow soggy NWesterner. Where and when are you having your VSG? Let me know if you have any other questions. I am a west-side dweller and work in downtown if you ever want to get together for a coffee and chat.
  18. Pre-op, don't worry about the timing of drinking water with anything else. Just follow your Drs nutritional guidelines. Don't worry about timing. That is for when you have restricted capacity, not before.
  19. I was given liquid loritab. The pharmacy was able to flavor it with a green apple flavoring to make it palatable. You are also given a plastic syringe kind of thing which you pull the meds out with and then squirt into your mouth. Second day post-op, it would take me about 15 minutes to take the full dose. I was sleeved on Friday, on loritab until Tuesday and back to work Wednesday. Desk job.
  20. I'm guessing you are young, since you are asking this question. You have never physically met this person, yet you are talking about sex, what, at one time as I understand it for most women, was one of the most intimate exchanges. How many partners have you had? How do you regard sex? Is it the icing on the cake or the appetizer to be enjoyed whether you are even served the main dish? Again, without knowing your age, dating history, the value you put on sex and where you are at in your life, this is a difficult question to answer. Just to let you know, when I was in my 20s, there wasn't much I wouldn't do or say to get into your pants. Just being honest here. So, it's up to you whether you want to get to know this person before you share this with him.
  21. This has been my exact philosphy the last 20 months. I dropped 120 pounds in 8 months (I exercised like crazy, though, too) and have had no problems maintaining at my goal weight, which is actually lower than my original goal weight, but my body had other plans. I just went with it.
  22. I'm like 20 months out. Couldn't be more normal in this area. When you get through this tough initial phase, you will be "regular" again. SarSar, how much Protein are you consuming each day? As I recently posted on another thread, the purpose for me getting sleeved was so I didn't HAVE to be on any specialized diets anymore. Throughout the day I ensure I get a balance of nutrients and liquids. Well balanced meals are our goal ... not another diet ... Right?
  23. I'll even post again.
