Shirley, I'm always the last to know! Where or how do you get the cute little annimated smiley faces?- Fustrated with lack of weight loss
More2Love, Do you realize you have lost one pound everyday since surgery! Wow, that is unreal! Don't worry....be HAPPY!- Fustrated with lack of weight loss
Do you realize you have lost a pound a day!!!!! Oh my gosh that is unreal. Don't worry...be happy! = )- Lap Band Surgery Day Stories
Ahab, Glad to hear you had a good experience. My surgery is Monday....I am soooo ready. My sister, who's an RN, flies in tomorrow so she'll take care of my dressings as my hubby is a little squimish! As for what to tell your co-workers...I would just say you had your doctor put you on a very low calorie, low carb, high protein diet so you could see REAL RESULTS QUICKLY. No lies involved- just a little detail left out! ha- Looking for June 2011 Bandits!
5 days Tina! Are you excited? I noticed your username IDteacher03..Do you teach 3rd grade? The reason I ask is because I teach 3rd grade! What a coincidence that would be!- Muscle Milk light
What's the carb count?- How much weight did you lose on the pre-op diet
I know what you mean. I've been on my pre op diet for three weeks and the scales show a loss of between 4 and 8 pounds, depending on the day. It's very discouraging hearing other people's weight loss. My biggest fear is that I still won't lose after being banded on the 27th. I know the mega doses of insulin I'm taking don't help matters any, so maybe when that's reduced I'll get better results.- What Pre-Op Diet Are You On?
Two Weeks of liquids.- Looking for June 2011 Bandits!
'My surgery is one week away - 6/27. I have so much nervous energy. I didn't go to bed until 5 this morning. I'm just so excited to get on with this. As for post op stories.......I think there are lots of people out there like Roziecakes that do really well because they DO EXACTLY what their doctors ask them to do. Keep a positive attitude and you'll do just fine. My surgeon said I should have less pain than when I had my gallbladder removed, and truthfully that was no biggie.- What do you eat each day?
Yes, because I HATE to puke!- not hungry
Anesthesia is what makes me loose my appetite-everytime. It usually lasts about a week. I love it! LOL- Feeling Doubtful
I went to my pre-op education class on the 14th. I had been on a liquid diet (self imposed) for two weeks and had only lost 5 lbs since my last visit two weeks earlier! Some of us are just very slow losers, and I'm finally at an age (54) that I realize this and am willing to be patient this time. Don't give up! It will eventually come off!!!!!- What do you eat each day?
I'm impressed so many of you eat bread products. I have. een led to believe I'll never be able to eat another piece of bread! This gives me some hope!!- 2wk or Long Pre-Op Diet
I did liquids for two weeks on my own-just to make sure I could do it before I paid for this sirgery! I was able to do it and have gone straight into the two weeks before surgwry. My surgery will be in ten days so I've been on liquids for 18 days. It really hasn't been that bad, just a little depressing that I've only lost 8 lbs. If you think about it you will then be on liquids for another 2-3 weeks after surgery....so get ready. Yikes! Good luck to you.- Discouraged with the band.
Dear TanksMama, I really hope you can make this work even if it means switching to the sleeve. I am 53 and scheduled for surgery in 10 days. Yea!!! I have spent every single day of the last 45 worrying and fretting about every bite of food I put in my mouth. I swam on a swim team when I wa young - still overweight, I ran track in high school - still overweight, I did swim workouts with my college swim team - still o er weight, I ran 4 miles a day in my young married years - still overweight, Gym membership that I used religously in my 30's - overweight, lots of wLmi g the dogs, race walking class, water aerobics etc. in my 40's - overweight, and FINALLY gave up in my fifties!!!!! I have gone through so much emotional trauma over being fat I can't begin to tell you. I will never be able to change the quality of my life up until this time. Very, very sad. I am willing to do ANYTHING to make this work. After doing a great deal of reading on this forum I M shocked at all the work it will take but am totally ready for the challenge. I even practiced a. 2 week liquid diet to make sure 8 could do it!! I could!!!!!!! In closing.... to all of you banders out there.....make this work while you are young!! Don't waste the great quality of life you deserve because you want a double cheeseburger!!!!!! Love and Good luck to all of you.- tube came apart from port
My doc told me that a sharp pain near my port definately means the port has become detached! I'd insist on seeing your surgeon, not the PA!- Any june 2011 Banders???
I'm happy to hear you're doing soooo well!- Any june 2011 Banders???
Speaking of eating and staying on the pre-op diet.........The highlight of my day is taking (eating) my chewable Multivitamin and my chocolate Viactiv supplement!!!!! lol = )- So this is Bandster Hell?????
What does your doctor say? I can't imagine what's going on.- Protein Shake Suggestions?
I really like the Designer Whey chocolate. I like the taste and that it only has 2 g of carb.- Any june 2011 Banders???
