Feeling Doubtful

So, I went to the doctors on Monday for pre op stuff. I get my band TOMORROW!! Anyway, I have been on these clears with protein drinks for 3 days and have not lost ANYTHING!! I am nervous now that the band won't even work because apparently eating less that 1,000 calories the last couple days has done nothing to my fat stores. Am I expecting too much?? I would love some feedback because I feel doubtful at this moment. :(

Thanks for saying that !!

Tell you what. Put away your scale right now. Take it out again when you're two weeks past surgery. You'll be thrilled at how much you've lost.

Don't worry about the weight loss right now and honestly don't worry about it to much until you start getting fills. The first 6 weeks is about healing. Don't focus on the scale just yet. Just get through the surgery and recovery. Focus on that first.

Thanks, you guys are the BEST!! I guess I am just getting anxious, excited and nervous! I have been working for this since last October and now my band is waiting for me tomorrow!!! I am so ready, prepared, informed... blah blah blah, but I have had such a hard time with weight loss thus far, I am afraid I will be THE ONE it just doesn't work on.

Also keep in mind that the majority of people with bands eat more than 1,000 calories per day. Not everyone can lose effectively on less calories.

Hope your surgery went well and you are feeling better today. I felt the same way. One day I lost two lbs and then I didn't for a few days and then I dropped 3 lbs. So I think some people take it off in different time frames.

I went to my pre-op education class on the 14th. I had been on a liquid diet (self imposed) for two weeks and had only lost 5 lbs since my last visit two weeks earlier! Some of us are just very slow losers, and I'm finally at an age (54) that I realize this and am willing to be patient this time. Don't give up! It will eventually come off!!!!!
