  1. I'm here at the hospital all checked in. Waiting now to be called back. I'm still doing good. But I'm afraid when I go back that is when I will freak out. LOL Hubby will update here after surgery. Thanks everyone for your support.
  2. Tamz, that sounds like solids to me. Just soft solids. LOL At least your not drinking your meals. Good luck with it.
  3. Congrats. Can't wait to hear your story.
  4. Good Luck everyone ! We are on our way to "thin".
  5. Dawn sounds like you are doing well. Good luck on your journey. Marilynn....I'm soooo excited. I can't wait. Sweetdreams, it will be here before you know it. This week is going to change all our lives. Hehehehe
  6. Congrats on your surgery date.
  7. Thanks for the well wishes everyone. And I will also be praying for my fellow sleevers this week. We are on our way. Now if the anesthesiologist would just hurry up and call me. Dang I'm more nervous about that. LOL I want to get that last thing done tonight. Still need to pack my bag. OH well, it won't take long, I just need a few things. I can't believe in less than 24 hrs I will be on my way to "thin". FOREVER ! :cheer2: Hugs to everyone!
  8. I don't have to worry to much about meals for my family. My hubby will go back to work on Wednesday, so just dinner is all he will have here at home. He can take care of himself pretty good...LOL I told him he can stop and get something on the way home. But knowing him he will not do that much. We have Soups and sandwich stuff and he loves making Breakfast for dinner. My son will be with family the first week or so. In fact I would not be surprised if hubby didn't do the Protein shakes with me in the evening a few times. He needs to lose a little bit of weight, so he keeps telling people this is going to be good for him too. LOL Hopefully more people can give you some ideas. Good luck on Wednesday.
  9. Thank you Dawn. How are you doing? Getting in your liquids?
  10. Well today is the last day of my old life. Although I'm allowed a meal today (lunch only), I'm doing liquids all day long. My husband and son are going to do Protein shakes with me today. They are so sweet. I go in at 9:30 tomorrow morning. So in a little more than 24 hrs, I'll be on the other side. I don't even have my bag packed yet....LOL I figure that will give me something to do today to focus on. Also going to get my fridge organized and all my stuff in one area, so it's easier for my hubby to find for me if needed. I have all my other things in one area on the counter. I ordered my chewable Vitamins, Calcium and B-12 last night, so it should be here by Wednesday. Doing the last bit of laundry today, clean sheets on the bed and spending time with my son. Will make phone calls to my parents, my daughter and older son as well. (I have 3 kids, son 26, daughter 25,and son 7). My husband has his list of people to call for me after surgery.....so I think I'm about ready. How about you?
  11. Butterfly, glad you are back home and ok. I can't wait to see the weight start falling off of you...
  12. Wow, that is pretty far just being a few days out from surgery. But good for you. I hope I can do that after my surgery next week. How is everything else going?
  13. Good luck. Since its so low, sounds like it wouldn't be anything with your tummy. Maybe its a muscle and not something serious.
  14. When I went to my pre-op class, the nut said we could also have veggies during the day. Like raw carrots, broccoli, etc. But no dressings or anything. So I made a zucchini Soup. Just zucchini, baby carrots, onion with Water and chicken broth. Maybe you can try something like that in between your shakes. As she told us, no one every got fat from eating veggies.
  15. Glad you made it. Wow, already a 1/4 mile walk...you go girl. Take care of yourself. Can't wait to hear more.
  16. Just wondering if anyone was able to get off their depression meds after surgery and losing alot of weight. When I had my psyc eval, the doc mentioned that after I lose weight I can probably get off of the meds. I've been on meds on and off for about 15 years. The longest time off was after my third child was born in 2003. I didn't get back on them until 2006 when I was going through a divorce. Then I got off them again in 2008 and back on them in early 2010 because I started menopause. I would love to be off them. Just wondering if weight loss would help that part of my life. BTW...I don't take a really strong med either, never have. I just need that little bit.
  17. No advice really on how to calm down. But I keep telling myself, this time next year I will be at goal, I will be thin and I will never have to worry about being overweight again. I've thought about buying a goal outfit.......maybe a yoga/exercise one. Maybe a size Large. No XXL for me anymore. I might do that tomorrow and hang it up on my bedroom door and see how long it takes me to fit into it. Maybe try something like that. Hugs to all the July 11th losers! We are almost there.
  18. Mine will be using a 36 bougie. I didn't know they were as big as 46. Can you talk to your surgeon about it and see why he is using a bigger one?
  19. You could wear something like those men's boxer pants (lounge pants) and a t-shirt. But make sure they are loose. I just plan on using the hospital gowns while I'm there. But wearing a sun dress there and will put it back on to leave for home. I don't want anything on my tummy. Good luck sweetie.
  20. I tried to check it out and it won't open. So does it work sometimes and not other...LOL
  21. Most insurances use your starting weight, when you see your surgeon as the weight they go by when its sent in for approval.
  22. I'm happy to hear your hubby will be there for you. My daughter lives far away from us, because her hubby is in the Navy. But when he was away, I was there for her when she had two of her babies. There is no way I would not be there for my daughter and grandchildren. Shame on your Mom. I know your husband is going to be there for you, but you might want to try and get involved with a church or Mommy's group to make friends. My daughter does this whenever they move to a new place so she meets people she trust if she needs them to watch the kids for an emergency. And she has had to use them in the past too on short notice. She has been lucky and blessed to find some great friends. I know its hard when your away from family. How about your husbands family, can any of them come visit you? Good luck on Monday. I'm having mine the same day too.
  23. Sounds like you are doing great Biggriz. Hopefully the pain was better today.
