    Gained weight!

I'm with you Nancy....I gain 1 lb. since Monday. No losing at all this week. I'm very frustrated. I know to expect it, but it doesn't make it easier to handle. And to make it worse I'm having a freakin period. I'm post menopause....haven't had one in over 1 1/2 years. My surgeon said it happens, that our hormones are all messed up for about 2 months post surgery. I just want to see the scale move again. It's so depressing.
  2. Surgery date: 7-11-11 Weight was 212.5 Today I'm 196. Total loss of 16.5 lbs. Last night I went shopping and put on a size XL top and size 16 pant. OMG....I have not been able to wear a 16 since 1998. :cheer2:

  4. Maybe try lowering your calories to 800-1000 per day while you are still trying to lose. Good luck.
  5. Whew, glad I'm not the only one.
  6. I've never had that problem either that is why its freaking me out sorta. Doesn't matter how much I wash, or wash with, its the same every day. Thank you so much Tiff.....yes I also have that taste/feeling in my mouth. Urgh!! Glad to know it will finally go away one day. No break outs....yet....thank goodness.

I had a drain and they removed the day after surgery before I went home. You look great....glad you are feeling good as well.
  10. I'm post menopause. March 2010 was my last period. But a few days after surgery I started spotting. Then it got to where it was a light period. It just stoped a few days ago. And I"m 3 weeks out. I asked my doc about it last week when I went in for my check up and they said that for a 2 month period after surgery it is common. If it continues after 2 months to see my GYN. The surgery does throw our bodies and hormones for a loop. Never thought about losing the weight causing it. Good luck, hopfully it will stop soon. Oh and I"m only 46 yrs old.

THE MORE I TRY TO EAT RIGHT

I know the feeling, although my husband is super bad. He knows he needs to lose about 50 lbs. And he does get some exercise. He plays hockey once a week. And he will go on my bike rides with me sometimes too. If I ask him to walk with me, he will do that too.....just to have our alone time. But he loves fast foods. I use to not cook alot, because we ate out most of the time....BEFORE I joined WW in March. I then started cooking more. Sure we ate out about twice a week, but not 5 or 6 times. It was a slow process. Find some simple healthy recipes that are along the lines of things he enjoys and start cooking more. Even if its just dinner he eats right and still eats out at lunch...its a start. Or you can suggest he takes leftovers for lunch a few days a week if he liked the dinner. My husband loves Mexican foods, so I tend to do more recipes like that. Not all...but most. Try www.skinnytaste.com she has some great slow cooker recipes. The Carnitas are wonderful. My husband and son eat them like brisket taco's. And love to take for lunch the next day. My son is 7 and would take to school, thought it was special. I would take a flour tortilla (low carb) place a piece of butterkause cheese on it then the meat....they loved it. Of course now I just eat some of the meat, not tortilla for me. I would also cook a veggie or make a salad to go with it. Both my son and hubby likes salad, so thats a good thing. If its Italian he likes, try some of the meatball recipes. You can eat yours on veggies and let him eat his on low carb Pasta. No garlic bread if you can get away from it. The point is, not to let him know its healthy.....just that you are making changes and want to try new foods. If its steak he loves....great, do that and salad and a good veggie. Or cauliflower mashed taters....LOL with cheese. My husband loves the leftovers, everyone at work envys him and his steak. Now he does eat out at work still, but its not 5 days a week like he use too. He is slowly coming down in weight and now that he sees it...he likes it. But I don't make a big deal about it. Its a slow process. Good Luck.

    Ladies, I need your help

I agree with all the above. July 7th was our 4th anniversary. I had my surgery on the 11th. So since I was on my pre op diet and all the extra money had went to the hospital, we just got each other cards. But my husband gave me a special gift. A spending spree for some new clothes at the store of my choice ( No Lane Bryant) in a few months. His hope is by then money will be better....but its the thought that counts. NOw I know your rolls are reverse, but you could tell her that next year, you two will have an extra special vacation.....go pick up travel brochures to some cool places, like Canada, Ireland, Paris.....just a huge variety and let her choose one. Then you both will have a goal to save up for your "Super Skinny vacation"....with the New Sexy You. Maybe toss in a nice piece of lingerie for her.....and a much smaller pair of sexy boxers for you to wear next year. A goal for you to get into. Good LUck

    Sharp pains

Your not even a week out. How you feel is normal. I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and I still get tired easily. I feel a nap coming on soon....LOL The pains are normal too. It could be from gas or your incisions. Take the pain meds that will help you sleep. Take it easy and take care of yourself.

I am so mad at myself

Hope today was better for you. Just take it slow and sip your Water and Protein shakes for a few more days. I wouldn't worry about the Vitamin right now. Maybe try it again next week. I still have not found one that doesn't make me vomit. So my NUT said to wait a few more days and try a different one. Just take it slow and take care of your new tiny tummy. Hugs to you.

    FIRST NSV

    That is Awesome.
  23. I just started eating soft foods, and my NUT suggested that you take a small bite and put your fork down and sing Twinkle Twinkle little star in your head....then take another bite. It gives time for the food in your tummy to signal to your brain its getting full. Overwise its too late and it hurts. I have not made myself miserable yet, but I can certainly tell, that maybe I shouldn't have taken that last bite. Good Luck. This is going to be hard. Because I'm just like you. It looks good, taste good and you just want to take big bites like you use too. But we have this new tool that will not let us do that anymore... THANK GOODNESS!!
  24. Just wondering if there are more blogs/websites out there for people like us. I know alot of people talk about http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ and I love her site. What others are out there you enjoy? Thanks in advance.
  25. Thanks for the heads up.
