  1. I'm the same way. I don't go as often as I use too, and when I do go, its not as much. I'm drinking all my water. When I mentioned this to my doc, she said as long as its clear liquids coming out...I'm fine and getting enough fluids. But my question is...where is all that water going that I'm drinking?

    Polar FT4 HRM

Ok, I just got my HRM I've been wanting for months. Got it all set up and just did a test run...well bike ride. LOL So since I'm not a fitness guru....what should my heart rate be when riding my bike or exercising? It only got up to 108. Resting mine is usually 68. Now I'm 46 yrs old and weigh 194 right now. What HR should I be shooting for or does it matter? Thanks,

    FED UP WITH THESE ADDS

I hate them too and one reason I'm not on here as much as I use to be. It's hard to keep focused on what I'm reading with something flashing all around me.
  4. When I had my pre-op class the nutritionist told us to use cow'smilk and not almond milk. That's fine unless your watching your carbs. Just wondering what everyone else using and why? Has anyone told you not to use Almond milk? Let's discuss this.

    Cow's Milk or Almond Milk?

Well I was thinking we get our calcium from the pills/liquid we all take. And I know I get plenty of protein per day, so I don't really need the protein in the milk for my shakes. So was thinking of using Almond milk instead to save calories and carbs.

    Nausea & multivitamin

I'm 6 weeks out and I'm the same way. My NUT finally said to use the gummies if I could, because its better than nothing. So I take One A day Gummies for adults. Instead of 2 per day I take 3. In a few weeks I'm going to try my Celebrate chewables again. But just like you, they make m vomit....its not pretty. Calcium chewable do me the same way. So I found a liquid that I can tolerate. But last week bought the Citrical Citrate pettits. They are great. Good luck. Hope you find something you can tolerate.

    Out to eat

I can understand your frustration, but also see your mothers side. We have a favorite resturant here in town and know all the waiters and owners. The first time we went in, everyone was concern why I didn't order much...and why I didn't eat much. Same thing the next time...over and over..so I finally told them. ONe of our favorite waitresses already knew, but it seemed we always got our other favorite waiters...LOL Now things are much better each time I go in. But like your mother, I don't mind telling anyone...I don't say anyting unless prompted or asked. But I want to tell the world how the sleeve has changed my life. I'm not ashamed of it at all. Without it, I would still be over 200 lbs and not losing. Good luck. Just do what you feel is right for you.

    What was your Bougie Size?

Mine used a 36 and I've had no problems.
  9. I went for my first consult last week for the Gastric sleeve. My insurance is with BCBS of Texas TRS. Starting September they have a $5000 copay for any weight loss surgery. That is crazy. Anyone else have this insurance? Robin

    someone help too much tmi

I was like that a couple of days this past week. I bought some Fiber choice powder and Miralax. I'm drinking some right now. I put both in a glass of Water and added crystal light to flavor it. About 16 oz. of water. I drank some last night and it really helped me today. So going to take every night for awhile. The Fiber Choice powder, they say to take 3 times per day. I've taken twice. Hope that helps.
  11. Ok, I recently tired the Skinny Latte at Starbucks and loved it. I'm not a super coffee drinker....other than your normal coffee with creamer. So since basically giving up coffee since surgery, would like a Protein drink that taste like the skinny latte to enjoy in the mornings. I prefer warm drinks over the cold ones. Is that possible with the protein powders? I tried a recipe on here that was suppose to be like a frap....I didn't care for it. Maybe I put to much instant coffee in it...not sure. So hit me guys with some recipes.....remember, I prefer warm drinks. Thanks, Robin Note: I put this in the recipe section too....but I know alot of more people come here.

    OMG almost ONE year out!!

YOu look great. WTG. Susan, great question. I wonder the same thing. In the past couple of days, I'm thinking....wow I'm still dieting and obsessing over food. I didn't want to do that. I know I have to watch what I eat and get in Protein.....but I don't want to log my food and worry about it forever. I've done that for most of my life.

    Pills vs Chewables

Viactive is not calcium citrate. It's calcium carbonate. My NUT and doc say only to take the Citrate. Our bodies don't absorb the carbonate. Bryn, I'm just like you. I did find a liquid Calcium I can take. It's made by Bluebonnett and I get mine at Whole Foods. It's a berry flavor. It was only $9.99 for a large bottle. I have not problem, throwing up with it. The chewables are nasty. Still having a problem finding a Vitamin. For now taking the gummies, still make me nausea a tiny bit....only for min. or so....but not vomiting. My Nut said to try that, its better than nothing. I'm going to look for a vitamin I can swallow too. But I think its the vitmans itself that make me sick...they are so strong. Good Luck.
  15. Well I've been experimenting....so this is what I came up with: 8 oz of FF milk 1 scoop of vanilla Protein powder 1 tsp of decaf instant coffee 1 cap full of Vanilla Torani SF syrup spinkle of splenda. I blend well. Then put in microwave for about a minute to warm...and yum yum yum. Calories 212 (protein powder has 130) and total protein 35 gms. Yum... Now that is coffee working for you. With the milk I get added protein. I could try with Water or 1/2 water and 1/2 milk to cut down the calories, but if that is all I do for Breakfast, didn't think it was bad.
  16. Thank you for the comment. I like knowing I help someone. So many other youtube video's help me out. So I try to put out as much of what is going on with myself as I can. Sounds like you are doing well. Good LUck.

  17. Awesome!! I "wishes" you the BEST !
  18. I totally agree with you. I have been on a 7 day stall so far. But I do my measurements every Monday. And I've lost 1 1/4 inches since last Monday even though the scale did not move down. In fact I gained a 1 lb. WTG on your losing. The scale will drop soon. But damn, why do you get so hung up on it? LOL

    I've got my surgery date!

    That is awesome news. Congrats.
  20. Thanks everyone. Going to be testing a few and also checking out the Amaretto one.
  21. Thanks, I have some of the click. It's not bad, but a little strong for me. It's nothing like the Skinny latte at Star Bucks. Thanks everyone.

    Breakfast Meatballs

Sounds like the famous sausage balls...that you put bisquick in. I'm going to try this....I love me some sausage and cheese. YUMMMM!!
  24. I'm only 4 weeks out and I would not dare drink at this point. I would be scared of the new staple line, ulcers and possible bleeding. Not to mention all of the above from other posters. If you do drink, please make sure someone you trust is with you and knows about your surgery, in case something happens. Since you will be away from home, be careful. There have been stories on here of people passing out after a couple of drinks. Because if you are not getting in much food/protein at this point, it would be risky.
