  1. DITTO

I probably won't make any friends with this reply but we're talking major surgery and I can't imagine not having my best friend and soul mate right there with me every step of the way. Not to mention that there is not a single part of my body that he does not know about.

My husband went to my consult and asked some great questions. In my marriage we do things together and not because we have to but because that's why we're married. This is the man that helped make it possible financially to have this procedure and will be wiping my butt when I get home, dressing me, and wiping my tears when I'm in pain.

Someone mentioned something about husbands not wanting to be apart of this stuff and just let them hold on to your purse...All I can say is WOW!

Good luck with your consult and I truly hope you let your husband be apart of this big day.

  2. Congrats

    :bananajump:

I've reached Onderland!!! I didn't want to say anything for a few days because I was hovering at round the 197 198 marks, but I went in for my second fill today and was officially 196!!! i'm so happy! I can't wait to start fitting into smaller clothes and to start doing more active sports. I've lost 19 lbs since I was banded on May 24th - quite an achievement for me. Im so happy!

  3. Thanks for sharing they do indeed look good

I stumbled upon this website the other night when I was looking for smoothie recipes and I'm in love with it! I haven't cooked anything yet but everything looks SO, SO good!!!! I'm not a veggie eater but I'm going to have to start incorporating them into a healthier diet so some of these recipes have lots of veggies but look so good and so flavorful!!

Also I don't make any money off the site & I'm not affiliated or anything. I am a visual person so it's one of the best sites I've found that have good, healthy recipes and lots of pictures and OMG they look amazing and almost every single recipe has great reviews!

  4. The 25lbs may be easier since your husband is having the surgery go on the Protein Shakes with him since that will be pretty much all he will have for the next couple of weeks or so - I lost 10 lbs on the Protein Shake diet PRIOR TO SURGERY -which I was on for 9 days- Maybe if you do Protein shakes only (I drank them 3-4 xs a day) for a couple of weeks this will jump start your system and you could possibly have the surgery within the next month or so

    Good luck keep us posted

  5. I make just about the same thing love it~ I cannot live without my coffee iced and hot! Fortunately I am not a frappacino kinda gal just coffee

I love coffee and while on my pre op protien shake phase I came up with using my chocolate shake mix, Water, 1 starbucks Via instant coffee, 2 spenda. Blended with ice. Its my lapband frappichino! I love it and still have it for Breakfast most mornings. I use chike protien powder, which was reccomened by my dr. I loved the taste of the chocolate and banana powders. 190 cals, 28 grams of protien.

  6. I purchased mine from my doctor (40.00 a jar) I bought 3 jars for 10 day preop diet (5 shakes a day) and 2 week post op diet (avg 3 a day) and still drink them at least 3-4 Xs a week and have some left - I could get the Protein Shake anywhere but tried theirs and I really like them

85 a week seems high - check Walmart- Cosco and GSN

I am not aware of any insurance that will pay for it only the surgery and after care -

  7. WOW great weight loss! Congrats to you - When you say excercise 5-6 days a week a minimum of 90minutes are you saying 90 minutes each day you excercise or total in the 5-6days??

    * Weigh & measure all meals eaten at home (3oz Protein, 1/2 cup veggies).

    * wait 20 minutes after eating.. if still hungry, I can have another serving veggies.. provided no sauce, cheese, etc.

    * Only 3 meals a day...unless awake an extended period of time, then may have a 4th meal.

    * High Protein, low cal Snacks only if truly hungry between meals. Drink Water first to see if thirst is masquerading as hunger.

    * drink 20 oz of Water immediately before meals, and nothing during or after meals.. at least for 30 min., preferably for an hour.

    * exercise 5 or 6 days a week, minimum of 90 minutes. (when I started it was only walking..as I get more in shape, I increase the intensity of the exercise).

    * As little processed foods as possible.

    * no rice, no bread, no Pasta, no potatoes, very little corn.

    * Lean meats (I strive for 90/10.. 85/15 is the highest fat I will buy). Not all ground turkey is lean.. surprise!

    * Avoid HFCS like the plague (high fructose corn syrup).. read labels, it's in everything!

    * No fried foods. Oven fried is allowed though.

    * minimum of 64 oz of water a day. Most days I'm at 80 or above.

    *journal my food intake

*attend support group (online or in person or both)

*try to keep trigger foods out of the house, or at least out of sight (have a cabinet for my DS's and DH's treats).

There might be more, but this is all I can think of right now.
