I understand you are trying to be funny however my hisband is a lung cancer survivor so that to me is not a joke sorry if I am being rude but we Celebrate hissurvival as well as our freinds as well as anyone who has survived cancer -
So, whenever I see people I haven't seen in a while, they always ask how I lost my weight... I usually do the E Coli joke. Sometimes it's "Cancer does wonders with weight loss!" Sometimes it's Montezuma's Revenge.
Anyone else mess with people? I'm tired of using the same jokes.

I drank very little prior to surgery so I probably have not a drink in about 4-5 months - I am going on vacation in Aug so will prbably partake then

Couldn't have said it better myself
I'm seriously gonna break from my ladylike ways and say SCREW the haters! I had this conversation with my 9 year-old daughter yesterday. People who are happy and happy with themselves do not spend their time tearing down others. Haters are insecure and unhappy folks who cannot cope with their own problems. You go on, fellow banders, and enjoy your success.

Always check with your doctor - I was allowed to ride my stationary bike- walk- treadmill at 5 days - After my 7 day check up I was advised I can do anthing I want except swim (was allowed pool after 2 weeks) no beach, lake or ocean for 6 weeks due to possible bacteria.
If I "bounced" too much I could feel the area where the port is starting to be uncomfortable so I would slow down the bouncing

I was eating 300-400 a day till around week 4 - since then I average 650 a day and feel satisfied- Are you taking Vitamins every day? And do your vitamins include D and B?

I work in the Medical Field and NO he cannot say anything including seeing you at the hospital UNLESS you give him written permission. HIPPA is a federal law so youa re safe unless he wants to lose his job
Went today for my ekg. Turns out the man who did it is very good friends with my mom. My mom does not know about me getting lapband. I asked that he not tell her i was there and he said he wouldnt, then said he couldn't due to hippa. Is this true? Seems like he could say he saw me at the hospital but not say why an still be in compliance. Does anyone know?

I would do the same thing
Well, I'm pretty stubborn sometimes.....so I'd probably tell him No.....I can manage on my own. I am stubborn enough to show him that I don't NEED him or anything he has to offer.

I agree 100% with you - I was self pay and would do it again in a heartbeat---
Wow, this is scary! I was banded 8 days ago! I want a refund! Haha, just kidding... I too read a lot about the stats and understood and understand the risks of this surgery. It is not created to make you lose all you excess weight and then you look like Pam Anderson! Going into this, I knew that I had to diet and exercise along with the band to guarantee weighloss.
In addition, I did a lot of research on erosion and slippage, etc. There are precautions you can take to decrease these risks. Like the doctor said, "You have to take care of your band." And that's true. I am not relying on the band to just suck all the fat out. I hope people feel the same way.

So sorry to hear about your husband issues- without going into detail (long story) I had the same issues with my first husband - never shared anything with me - where he went - who he was with- blah blah out all night but NEVER with a woman -- he went so far as to tell me I needed to see a psychiatrist because my mind was playing tricks on me etc etc.....Every once in a while he would make me feel important to him and then back to same okd self...After 15years I told him I was leaving -- till the day I moved out he did not beleive me ..........I went to counsleing myself to assure myself I was not psychotic~ After I left him he decided marriage counseling would work for him......When we went to marriage counseling I realized I no longer LIKED this man I married and I was worth more than he was making me feel.....
My point being you love him but he is not being honest and that means something I would have to agree witht he above there is definitly someone else and it is more than walking a few nights a week .....
Take care of yourself right now and let hom know he cannot keep coming around and calling you UNLESS he is ready to work on your committment
Glad you ahve an appointment with the counselor hope all works out for you
