  1. I'm three months out and haven't told anyone at work. Lots of people are noticing my weight loss, (60 pounds now, including pre-op) but also noticing the Protein and vegetable based meals I eat, my healthy Snacks, and they see me "checking in" at the gym several times a week via Facebook or Foursquare. When people have asked about my loss, I point to those things.

I'm not an easy loser and I'm working hard for every pound. I dont feel like im being "dishonest" about what im doing. I feel like I'm one of those people who could easily stay heavy despite the sleeve if I wasn't working so hard. I don't feel like its my job or my place to be an example or a poster child for wls to anyone.

I was back to work at 4 days post-op and had my surgery done over the Thanksgiving holiday, so i didnt miss more than a few days of work. I don't think anyone has a clue about my surgery. None of their business! :)

  2. I am a week out from surgery and I had my first "outing" tonight with my beloved. We went to a local restaurant for dinner. I ordered a cup of potato Soup, while he had a steak and salad and veg. I was as full and happy with the small amount of soup I was able to eat as I would previously have been with a big meal! I wasn't bothered by the sights or smells of any of the other foods either, which was a relief!

Tomorrow I am going in to work for a couple of hours. I have a desk job, so I'm hoping I can do a little bit of work before I need a nap! :)

  3. I'm using Protein shakes by CytoSport (the company that makes Muscle Milk)

The EvoPro Protein powder has 26g of protein per scoop and just 2 carbs and 2 fat. My nutritionist also okayed Muscle Milk Light powder. I also have CytoSport Complete Casein Protein Drink which is 25g protein. I was told to be sure and watch the protein vs carbs and fat. I like the cake batter and vanilla flavors. They are easy to doctor up with sugar free Torani and spices like cinnamon, etc, to keep things not as boring.

I am one week out today and cannot wait to CHEW something soon! :)

  4. Hi Babes!

I came home yesterday afternoon and got several hours of good sleep. What a blessing! I got a shower this morning and feel a lot better. The nausea is gone and I'm working on getting my liquids down. I dont have any sharp pain, just soreness. I'm feeling weak and tired but improving. I could not fathom having this procedure as outpatient surgery, as some people do! Yowza!

  5. Hi babes!

Well, I am sleeved, still in hospital and kind of miserable! Lots of nausea and vomiting. Ugh. Not getting a dang bit of sleep. My blood pressure is a bit out if wack too. I want nothing more than to go home!

Very little pain unless I vomit. I do not suggest that ever. boy I'm cranky! Lol

Say a little prayer for me if you would. I could use it! :)

  6. Good morning Babes! I am off to the hospital... Boy it's early! (4:30 am) and I am soo thirsty! Lol.

Just weighed myself and I am at 222. My beginning weight was 255. I'll update you all as soon as I can! Thank you for your support and good thoughts! -Ceecee

  7. I found out that I am the first of my doctor's three surgeries tomorrow morning. I need to be at the hospital at 6 am for surgery at 8. I'm as ready as I am going to be. I cannot wait until I wake up in the recovery room on the other side of surgery. Wish me luck! I'll post tomorrow when I can!

  8. Geno and Liliana... Best wishes and good thoughts today!

My surgery day is tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous and have NO idea how I'm going to be able to concentrate at work today!

I have to call in this afternoon to find out what time tomorrow my surgery will be. My doctor does three surgeries In one day and I know that one of the other patients is having a RNY bypass, so I'm hoping I will be the first or second surgery of the day.

Reading over this conversation thread has been so helpful. Thank you to all the banana Babes!

  9. Hi All!

I had my last pre-op class yesterday in South San Francisco. Just one week till surgery and I am getting SO nervous! Luckily I have plenty to get done at work before then, and an early Thanksgiving dinner for my family this weekend, as I will be in hospital on Thanksgiving (hopefully going home that night, I will be thankful indeed!)

I'm an emotional rollercoaster right now, and it looks like a LOT of us are enjoying that particular ride! :)

It's SO helpful to read about the rest of you, makes me feel like I am not alone!

  10. I am eight days out from surgery, and have had a few mini-meltdowns so far! I want this SO badly that I worry every step of the way that something is going to happen to postpone or somehow disqualify me from having surgery. I go in for my final pre-op consult and blood work today, and then I should be good to go. I can't wait to be past the point of worrying about having the surgery. The hard work to come will be a welcome respite from the "hurry up and wait"!

  11. I tol my sister and she pretty much cut off all contact with me. She definitely has a lot of her own issues to deal with, is morbidly obese and will find every excuse not to do anything about it, yet constantly and incessantly complains about her health. I hope this hasn't been an irreparable rift between us, but i refuse to live the rest of my life carrying this much weight.

I am scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks. I have told my fiancé and my kids. They are very

supportive, except my 14 year old som is very worried for me. We do a lot of talking through

    feelings these days!

I am telling my boss and a supervisor that I am having surgery but not what it's for. I've had kidney stones in the past and I know they will assume it has something to do with that. I'm just not going to spend much time correcting their notions.
