  1. So I'm doing the 2wk pre op diet .. that is not the "only liquid" diet... but rather just low in fat and no meats. .,. this is what my Dr said.

    My typical day is:

    Breakfast - Cheerios w/skim milk, 1 apple

    Mid-morning - Protein Shake

lunch - salad loaded with veggies and fat-free Thousand Island dressing, some kinda fruit

    Mid-Day - Protein shake

dinner - same as lunch, or sometimes I'll do steamed veggies.

Evening snack - reduced fat Rtiz Crackers, with Fat free cream cheese

I am also drinking about about 72oz of Water a day.

The problem - i am getting sick of salad :( What else can I eat... HELP!

  2. Its a mix from GNC called Pro Performance AMP Amplified Weybolic Extreme 60. 1 servicing is 3 scoops, and equal to 60grams of Protein. Of course you cant digest 60 grams in one sitting, so i split it --- twice a day 1.5 scoops each

It is SO GOOD. I have the chocolate and the Cookies and Cream.. they also have strawberry, and vanilla.. and I think coffee flavored too.

Best part ........ each of my servings (half of what the back of the bag states since im splitting their serving in 2) is 140 calories and of that, only 5 calories and .5 grams of fat. and 1 gram of sugar.

It was 28.99.. the servings per package say 7 however since your splitting in 2 -- there are 14 servings. If you catch GNC on a sale.. they are buy 1 get 1 half off :)

I LOVE IT... i really encourage everyone to try it. Its the leanest and tastiest I have found yet :)

  3. Thank you for the advice and support! I'm a ball of nerves! :)

Tamz- Please share your shake recipe. :)

  4. I'm hoping for some advice... My surgery is scheduled for June 2. I started the liver shrink diet on 5/19 but did not follow it for 2 days. I feel so guilty and almost cancelled my surgery. I think most of all I am nervous about complications that could happen during surgery. Help!

I started my 2 week post op (liver shrink) diet on Thursday May 26 and it has been utter HELL. I will tell you ......... that the first 2 days were ridiculously hard, but if you stick too it, it will be much better. Today is my 3rd day and im not really even hungry. I drink lots of Water and have really really good low calorie/low fat/low sugar Protein shakes that literally taste like chocolate milk and a Cookies and cream shake lol

I think slipping up for 2 days isnt such a big deal... just hit it hard the rest of the way!!! You can do it!! Drink lots of Water, and eating cucumbers, and carrots are great fillers I've noticed :)

    Good luck! Almost there!!! :)

  5. Good Afternoon from Texas!!

I have been a member of this site for a little while but recently decided to start posting rather than watching... I just wanted to say that it is absolutely amazing, and comforting to know how wonderful people on this site are. I am scheduled for my surgery on June 9th, and it is just now hitting me that its happening. I have been dealing with my weight for such a long time ... I never thought that this time would actually come. I wasnt always this overweight.. but started gaining when my parents passed away about 6 years ago. Its been a rough road since then. I have always been very shy about talking about my weight, and even going to the dr. When I found this site and started reading all your posts and discussions.... it really really touched me. Its so refreshing to know that I can come here and talk to anyone of you .. and get the answers I'm looking for :)

12 more days till surgery and I am freakin counting down lol .. I am so excited to get used to the new me!!!

I hope to talk to lots of you, and maybe make some friends along the way :)

Thanks again for being so great.

  6. Do you work on the computer at home? It will be much easier if that is what you do. I don't think it will take long for you to get back to work at home but you won't know until you have surgery. Each person reacts differently.

I was fine after surgery and up and walking right away. I even posted on here from my hospital room and felt fine. Others don't have it so easy so you will have to wait and see how you feel.

I had my surgery on Tuesday and came home on Friday. The only "issue" I have is that I get worn out easy but I just had major surgery so that is to be expected.

    Hi Sarsar :)

Yes I work from home on the computer .. so Im hoping that I can work from home after a week!

  7. I still can't believe I'm so close to having my surgery. I will be the first to have surgery that day. The Dr. should be well rested after the day after the 3 day Memorial day weekend (unless he is on call). I am so excited and nervous at the same time.

GOOD LUCK!!! Mine is scheduled for June 9th, check is at 130pm.. which i am not too crazy about.. and I find it odd that its in the afternoon. Id prefer morning so I dont have to be nervous all day long!

  8. Hey all :) So I know it depends on each individual .. but approx how long should I expect to be in the hospital for my surgery? And how long should I expect to be out of work once i get home?

I am really trying to avoid filing a Leave of Absence at work .. and I will have to if i miss more than 7 consecutive calendar days :(

I do work from home though.... so Im thinking that maybe after a few days I could just work at home.

    Any thoughts? THanks much!!!

June 9th is my surgery date!! I am really really nervous.. but excited at the same time. A little worried about making sure i eat the right things after :( it seems like soooooo much to remember. Helppp lol

  9. Hey Everyone :) I have been reading this forum for a while now... finally decided to join :)

My sleeve surgery is on June 9, and i am nothing short of terrified! I guess i wasnt expecting it to happen so soon after just being approved 2 days ago. Its all finally hittng me, that its actually happening. I have dreamed of this for years... but never thought id be this scared!

I am nervous about the pre op testing procedures.. what do they actually test??

I am also scared of surgery in general.... I have never been admitted to the hospital for ANYTHING.. so this is completely freaking me out :( Additionally... I hate taking off my clothes! I know that sounds stupid, but... I am so shy :(

Any words of advice? My other concern is that my blood pressure is a little elevated, and though i am on medicine. . i am scared that it will shoot up the day of surgery bc ill be so nervous :(

Please give me any advice you can, I would so appreciate it!!
