Ate To Much? Lots Of Pain

I doubt you set yourself back 3 whole months. With the lap band we need to learn what we can eat/how much, etc. Like Jennifer1 said we all do it. That is how we LEARN. I ate pizza last night. Knew I couldn't eat Pizza, but I tried it again and was sicker than a dog.(Or a puppy in my case - LOL). I had tried it before, but it seems I had to keep proving it to myself. Now I KNOW I just can't have Pizza and won't try it again. As long as you learn, you'll be OK!

Ate To Much? Lots Of Pain

It is all a learning process and I think you have learned a valuable lesson.

    When Did They Notice?

I've lost 50 and I don't even notice the difference. So many people know I have the band (my 2nd one) and they are just being kind. First place I lost was in my face and it is quite noticable there. I'm down from a tight 3X to a good fitting 2X so haven't lost much in clothes either. It's funny how things work. I could lose just one more pound and people may notice. It is like they don't notice and then suddenly they do notice! Like I said, people say they notice and I am getting lots of positive reinforcement. Talk about good friends.

    Observation....

I think that a lot of times that people tell us we have lost too much weight because they are so used to seeing us fat, when we reach a good weight they think we look to thin. Say my normal weight if I had never gotten fat would have been 110 (This is just an example to show a point). If everyone was used to seeing me at 110, they would think I was just petite. But if I had been 300 lbs and lost my weight and became 110 people would think I lost too much weight. Even though that might have always been the right weight for me. I hope you are able to follow my example. This is what I think happens.

Has Anyone Read The Posts On OH?

I used to belong to that site. Then I found this one and LOVE it. So much more honest and loving over here.

    Restriction: Full Vs. Satisfied

I can't eat bread either and can't even fathom having enough room for a Big Mac, pizza or submarine sandwich. Of course they all have bread, so I couldn't eat them, but I wouldn't have room for any of it - even without the bread!

    I Walked Away

Good for You! You are doing spectacular! Don't think I could have done it. The donut might not have stayed down, but I don't think I would have been as strong as you!

The Best Birthday Gift.....50 Lbs Loss

Great! When was your birthday? July 6? I am struggling to get to my 50 lb loss. Keep hovering at 47-48 lbs lost, but it will come!

Some people, like me, physically can not eat them. I hope you can.

    Tattoo

I also have very small ankles. In fact, framewise I am very petite. Since you don't have "tankles" I think you would like it.

    Tattoo

Hi - I have an ankle tattoo and to be honest, I didn't think it hurt very much. Kinda tickled.
  16. Actually, Dee, it makes sense to me and I would use the brussel sprout. Not sure that is the "right" way, but I don't think it can hurt, so why not?!

    Tattoo

I really like the one you have, Carolina Girl. I married into a family and was a "tattoo virgin", so the one I got was my husband's name on my ankle or exactly the reasons mentioned. I didn't imagine I would lose or gain too much on my ankle.

    Pouch enlarged???

Elisa81 - where in CA do you live? I'm in the Riverside area. I'm surprised you are having trouble finding a doctor who accepts Tricare. I'm on Tricare and the Dr's seem to love it because it pays so much and so easily.

    Breast Reduction

I am thinking about getting one. I am a size J! and am 55 years old. I guess I just think it is better to lose my weight before the surgery. I loved having big breasts but now they just feel so heavy and, of course, are saggy.

    Nervous For Endoscopy!

I'm glad to hear it is easy too. I need to get one because my bariatric surgeon found a mass on or in my esphogaus when he did an upper GI on me.

    Tired Of Hearing About Failures...

Sorry everyone isn't as perfect as you, Melissa! I am on my second lap band. The port wasn't connected, so it did nothing. (not my fault, and I was feeling pretty low with everyone telling me I was doing something wrong) This one is working great and I am thrilled. I get discouraged, etc., just like an average bandster. This is a site for ALL bandsters. Where else, but this site, can I find encouragement when I am struggling. If you are tired of the negativity don't read it!!! But I agree that people here post when they need help, want answers, etc. I know I have and thankfully kind people have helped me.
