    Getting ready for surgery....

hi diane! i am 3 months out, and my surgery has helped me kick my prediabetes sleep apnea and balanced out my hormones. it is scary to take on this challenge, but only during the surgery. it is sooo worth it and this site offers amazing support! reach out to us for questions it will definately ease your mind! my tip would be to find a good tasteless protein powder so you can mix it in with your liquids post op. i use bipro and its great even now mixed in with yogurt. i was tied the first week post op but now i am back in the gym and i feel so much better than i used to. it really is a fresh start to a new life!!! and also some of that hormone that creates the hunger sensation is removed during the surgery i hve felt no hunger just some acid which is remedied quickly by a tums now and again. good luck to you!!!

    My roommate hid my scale

i had a stall bout 1 month out and was wondering the same thing. not sure if the body goes into "starvation mode" and tries to hold onto all of its fat? i walked as much as i could tolerate (slow walk!) and the more i did that the more inches that came off. i hope you take your measurements because i know that is where most of us see the biggest difference when it is not always reflecting on the scale!

they are great for some Fiber and Protein but their high carb count kind of negates the positives

    new habits

nacnic, i am 8 weeks post op and just found a tasteless protein powder called BiPro. i bought it online and i mix it with greek yogurt every morning. a scoop gives like 20g of protein and it keeps me full a few hours. I like it because it is tasteless and is not sweet like other protein powders. It is like $40 for a giant jug but it is worth it!
  13. how are u doing???

  14. its so exciting to see inches lost! 2 months out and i am down 8 in on abdomen 8 in on chest 2 on neck and 2 on upper arms!

    over eating

i could barely do 4 ounces for a long time now i can do 4 oz of anything really but if i go above that it comes right back up as u go u will learn if u have "one bite too much" before u swallow it. i am almost 2 months out now and feel perfect u will g et there too
  20. officially down 33 lbs since surgery! I know others have lost more faster but I am just so thankful!

  21. hasnt lost any inches pounds all week :o( any tips???

  22. first full week back to work since my sleeve 6 weeks ago...hoping my sleeve behaves herself!

  23. Cathi - I am about 6.5 weeks out and i can handle about 4 oz at a time, denser proteins like chicken or beef maybe a little less. You don't seem to be eating as much as suggested and I can't imagine you are getting in enough protein. It will hurt at first to do the 4 oz (or recommended amount by your surgeon) but try to get in good protein rich foods first, greek yogurt tuna chicken etc. Hope you find a comfy level for your sleeve!
  24. is looking forward to not being "the fat girl" in the wedding i was just asked to be in next august! i will be 13 month post op by then wahoo
