I have 3cc in my band and I am kinda staying the same,I have lost 30lbs since surgery on June 28th,I have no issues at all with anything getting stuck,and can eat my meal and feel satisfied,but i think i will get 2 more when i go next Monday i hope I will not be overfilled..good luck!! ~Krissi

I have only had one fill and he put 3cc in,I am going in on the 22nd how much do you think I should get?How manyy cc did you have in?I dont really have any restriction. ~Thanks Krissi

Sounds like you have found your sweet spot,when were you banded and how many cc do you have? Good for you!!

I was banded June 28th and I had pain in the port area,seemed to get much better until i went on vacation this past week and was in the ocean swimming and I woke up the next morning it was like i was punched in the belly,my port site still hurts when i try to lay on my stomach.i am so nervous I did something to it.I will be calling the dr tomorrow just to be safe,but any idea on what could have happend?

Hello there I had my surgery on June 27th and my port incision is very sore.I have not had a fill yet so i dont know how that is gonna be.Did you have alot of pain in that area to begin with?

hello there, I had my surgery on Monday the 27th and everything went great but i was a little shocked in how much pain i was in,espeacially where the port incision is.Did you feel the pain there and how long will it last?had a little bit of gas but not too bad.just getting in and out of bed and getting up from sitting it feels like i am gonna ripe my stomach open.Good luck!~Krissi

hello everyone I just got banded june 27th and I am hurting a little where the port incision is, is this normal I feel fine otherwise but can hardly get up out of bed or if i am sitting..It is so painful like i am going to ripe my stomach open.Also my voice keeps going in and out and i get this phlemy cough..Is this all part of the recovery and when should i start feeling less pain?

I had my surgery yesterday and i have never heard of only 1 incision..I have five and the incision where they put the port in is the biggest and is quite painful also.Again this is my second day,so I am sure it will get better..i am going to put merderma on my scars i hope it helps..i do want to wear a bikini one day!!Good luck to everyone!!

Hello everyone, I had my surgery yesterday and I was shocked to see how much pain i as in,espeacially around port site,getting in and out of bed s torture,its like a pulling sensation.could that be gas??I have been on perks 1 every 4 hrs and it seems to help,they gave me t pill form,the dr. said that was fine because the band is not tighten yet.I am still spotting blood in the port area,is this normal.~kris

Hello Therea, I just had my surgery yesterda and got the realize band,what did you hear about it being recalled?I am still in some pain getting in and out of bed.My port site is in pain and a litte spottng of blood,is that normal?about how long until the pain goes away?Also what is plication? Alsohe best thing I can tell you is: carry a small note book with you and write all your questions in it. When you go to the Dr. take it out and ask away (write the answers in it) you will be so happy you did that. Research Research Research oh and did I mention RESEARCH, you can never be too informed. I went to 4 different surgeons seminars and I was so happy I did that. There are different things you can get with the lap band, one of them is plication ( I got this and so happy I did). I learned about It at one of the seminars. I also learned that there was a recall on the realize band awhile back. As much as I wanted it done ASAP I was very very happy I took the time to research it and ask all of the questions I did, I believe it is really helping me in my recovery, I have no surprises. My husband is a professional Chef and was not onboard with this, my son is a Chemist and he is so I understand what your going thru. All I can tell you is to keep talking to your family and take them to seminars with you. Prove to them you did not decide this on a whim and that your doing your research, this will help. hello everyone, I just had my surgery this morning,so I hope i am close enough to July to jump in with you guys!!I am from Massachusetts also to all the new Englanders out there..lol.Well I will try to answer as many questions as I can seeing its only been today banded.I did not have to do any liquid diet,I actually had McDonalds last night for dinner..(opps) but i did not have anything after 9pm and I was at the or getting rolled in at 7:45 dont remembr anything from that point,when I woke up in recovery My insision were sore espeacially where the port was ,and the biggest incision too,I will definantly be putting mederma on them to help with the scaring.The nurses were awesome,I just had liquids there and they gave me a protein drink tohave for the ride home,I am home now and doing pretty good,I will keep you guys updated!!~Kris

Hello there,i just had my surgery today and i started my journey in Oct 2010,I would definanty see if your insurance would pay.I was denied by my insurance I appealed it and was approved On April 19th it does take time,but at least give it a shot.It is worth it!!!!~good luck!

Congrats on your surgery,I am having mine done Monday the 27th and am having mixed thoughts,I really want the surgery but also very nervous.Did you have mixed feelings also? Is the port site sore?and can you see where the port is from looking at you stomach?I hope you are very successful..

Wow,what a small world I have not ran into too many that are from our area,and how are you feeling only a week..were you nervous,and was it everything you expected so far..Good luck!!!

That is good I found someone that is the same weight as i am,when i went to the seminars they would say to me why are you doing this you are not big enough,but being short makes a big difference.I will be getting my date at the end of june..I am nervous and excited all at the same time..Good Luck!!!

I started my process with another surgeon but am going to have Dr.Shakora do the surgery,was just wondering if anyone has had him?He is at tufts in Boston.

That is great news about gettng approved,I have united health care and had to appeal,but they did approve me April 19th so i am waiting to get my date..so excited and a litte scared at the same time,How are your emotions?
