  1. Hi Amanda, I suggest reposting in another forum, maybe the POST-Operation Gastric Sleeve Surgery (VSG) Questions & Answers, because this one is for vet issues and it might get overlooked. I don't have an answer for you. Hope your Dr. gets back to you soon. Lynda
  2. I'm two years post-op and quite happy. There are a few of us on here. I've been at goal for 14 months. You can find details about me and my surgery in my sig line and my profile. Lynda
  3. Not sure if I'm one of the guilty ones or not, but I often look at the panel on the right, which lists new topics and reply to those. It doesn't indicate which forum there. Lynda (will be 60 in 3.5 years)
  4. I would call the Dr's office and get a shopping list together for recommended foods and Vitamins for the first two weeks post op. I would get just enough Protein powders to take you through a few days because you won't feel like shopping right after surgery. Maybe you can order samples sizes and have them on hand then you can order or buy more of what you like post-op. Lynda
  5. I get hungry, but a meal does fill me up and keep me full for a few hours. I still struggle with wanting to eat crap, esp. at night. I have to really watch it because at two years out, I can eat a lot of slider foods. Yeah, not as much as pre-op, but enough to gain weight in a hurry. In the long term studies I could find for VSG, weight regain was significant between 3-6 years. That one keeps me worried. http://www.bariatricspro.com/imageServer.aspx/doc213335.pdf?contentID=20352&contenttype=application/pdf page 11 and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20622654
  6. I didn't buy my goal outfit till I was at goal. First of all, I'm very picky and some things that look great on a hanger don't look great when I try them on. Secondly, wasn't sure about the timeframe for goal. I got to goal in winter so I bought knee high boots and a small bracelet. I also bought a nice skirt and a few jackets. While losing weight, I only bought as much as I needed and spent as little as possible, so at goal it was a real treat to buy some nicer things and more of them. Lynda
  7. Don't worry. Some people's stomach swells more post-op than others. Just because you can down 4 oz. of soup now, it's no indicator of your final portion sizes when you get to solid food such as chicken or fish. Lynda
  8. Proton Pump Inhibiter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proton-pump_inhibitor Prilosec is a common one. Lynda
  9. Thinking of you Laura-Ven. Lynda
  10. I'm not the person you asked, but I do drink the occasional soda or carbonated Water. I'm two years out. I like sugar free 7-up with a bunch of lime juice in the summertime. And I like sparkling water with a splash of cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime. Occasionally have a sugar-free root beer. Yum!
  11. Thanks for the recipe! I will try making it and freezing. The Anderson Split Pea is quite expensive and hard to find. Lynda
  12. My fav was Anderson Split Pea Soup. Lynda
  13. I agree with Lexi. If you hit an issue, go back a step for 3-4 days then reintroduce foods slowly to see if you can identify which one caused the problem. When I first started eating more solid Protein, I had to go back to full liquids a few times. Lynda
  14. I recommend talking to your Dr. about the PPI. Some people have to try several before they get one that works. Lynda
  15. Early out I loved Anderson Split Pea Soup. Always sat well and has 9-10 grams of Protein per cup. I also ate Campbell's Cream of chicken, Trader Joe's Butternut Squash, and later Progresso Tomato Basil (Tomato was much too acidic for me at first). Other brands of Split Pea Soup had potato puree, which I didn't tolerate well at first. Lynda
  16. I bought: Skinny Thinking: Five Revolutionary Steps to Permanently Heal Your Relationship With food, Weight, and Your Body by Laura Katleman-Prue. The original poster (OP) provided a link: http://www.amazon.co...p/dp/1600377491
  17. I mix light mayo and greek yogurt, half and half. Lynda
  18. OK. I've downloaded it but haven't started reading yet. I'll work on it. I read The Beck Diet Solution while I was still pre-op. It had some great ideas, but I couldn't get with the program enough to get to an overweight BMI from an obese BMI. Lynda
  19. Hi Oregon, Who are you asking about their diet? I can tell you what I eat, but I'm pretty sure you didn't mean me because I don't count carbs, I just choose whole grains when eating starches. Lynda
  20. lowfat turkey chili Anderson Split Pea Soup Greek Yogurt with fruit and Splenda Low fat cheese sticks Low fat lunch meat Tuna packed in water and mixed with lowfat Mayo and Greek Yogurt Applesauce cups (no added sugar) Dungeness Crab Cocktail Shrimp Cocktail Moist cooked fish and chicken
  21. I've had some people tell me I am too skinny, but I'm happy with my size and I'm in the normal range. It would be all to easy to be bigger. I have to work at maintaining my weight. It's not unlimited drinks and junk food at goal. Yes, my face is not as full as I'd like, but I'm 56, not 36. I expected that. It's so worth it when I bend over and pick something off the ground without feeling like I'm gonna have a heart attack right there. Lynda
  22. Well for 99 cents (Kindle edition), I'm going to check it out. I'm in if anyone wants to discuss. Lynda
  23. Hi NtvTxn, I'm a native Texan too! Born in Ft. Worth but we left when I was two. Been a Californian since then. Anyhow, it really varies from program to program on the shakes. My program was like yours, but it took me longer than 2.5 months to get enough Protein without the shake. And that's even with my love of greek yogurt. You really rocked your sleeve! Lynda
  24. I ate a little popcorn around that time frame. It's on my be careful list, but I haven't had a problem. Like others, I have to watch it because I can eat way to much of it and I love popcorn. So it's an occasional treat. Lynda
  25. I quit the shakes even before I got to goal. But if you look at http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ she is a good example of someone who continues to use the shakes. Lynda
