  1. I'm not the person you asked, but I do drink the occasional soda or carbonated Water. I'm two years out. I like sugar free 7-up with a bunch of lime juice in the summertime. And I like sparkling water with a splash of cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime. Occasionally have a sugar-free root beer. Yum!

    Soup recomendations

Thanks for the recipe! I will try making it and freezing. The Anderson Split Pea is quite expensive and hard to find. Lynda

    Creamy soups!

My fav was Anderson Split Pea Soup. Lynda
  4. I agree with Lexi. If you hit an issue, go back a step for 3-4 days then reintroduce foods slowly to see if you can identify which one caused the problem. When I first started eating more solid Protein, I had to go back to full liquids a few times. Lynda
  5. I recommend talking to your Dr. about the PPI. Some people have to try several before they get one that works. Lynda

    Soup recomendations

Early out I loved Anderson Split Pea Soup. Always sat well and has 9-10 grams of Protein per cup. I also ate Campbell's Cream of chicken, Trader Joe's Butternut Squash, and later Progresso Tomato Basil (Tomato was much too acidic for me at first). Other brands of Split Pea Soup had potato puree, which I didn't tolerate well at first. Lynda

    "Skinny Thinking" book club?

I bought: Skinny Thinking: Five Revolutionary Steps to Permanently Heal Your Relationship With food, Weight, and Your Body by Laura Katleman-Prue. The original poster (OP) provided a link: http://www.amazon.co...p/dp/1600377491

    "Skinny Thinking" book club?

OK. I've downloaded it but haven't started reading yet. I'll work on it. I read The Beck Diet Solution while I was still pre-op. It had some great ideas, but I couldn't get with the program enough to get to an overweight BMI from an obese BMI. Lynda
  10. Hi Oregon, Who are you asking about their diet? I can tell you what I eat, but I'm pretty sure you didn't mean me because I don't count carbs, I just choose whole grains when eating starches. Lynda

  12. I've had some people tell me I am too skinny, but I'm happy with my size and I'm in the normal range. It would be all to easy to be bigger. I have to work at maintaining my weight. It's not unlimited drinks and junk food at goal. Yes, my face is not as full as I'd like, but I'm 56, not 36. I expected that. It's so worth it when I bend over and pick something off the ground without feeling like I'm gonna have a heart attack right there. Lynda

    "Skinny Thinking" book club?

Well for 99 cents (Kindle edition), I'm going to check it out. I'm in if anyone wants to discuss. Lynda
  14. Hi NtvTxn, I'm a native Texan too! Born in Ft. Worth but we left when I was two. Been a Californian since then. Anyhow, it really varies from program to program on the shakes. My program was like yours, but it took me longer than 2.5 months to get enough Protein without the shake. And that's even with my love of greek yogurt. You really rocked your sleeve! Lynda
  15. I ate a little popcorn around that time frame. It's on my be careful list, but I haven't had a problem. Like others, I have to watch it because I can eat way to much of it and I love popcorn. So it's an occasional treat. Lynda
  16. I quit the shakes even before I got to goal. But if you look at http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ she is a good example of someone who continues to use the shakes. Lynda

Any success stories for the 50's group?

I'm 56. I was sleeved two years ago and I've been at goal (BMI of 21.8) for 14 months. Lynda
  18. Hi all, Do what you have to do to get through it - it does grow back. At two years out, mine is finally thick all the way to the ends again. The combination of radically reduced calories and anesthisa does a number on just about everyone's hair. My hairdresser looked like he was going to cry every time he saw me for a few months. Lynda

    I miss carbonation!

I live where it's colder in summer and I like a hot chocolate after dinner. Early out I made a mocha using Starbucks Via Decaf instant coffee, chocolate Protein powder and soy milk. You might try letting the coke go flat and then drinking some if you are really missing it. I got my sweet fix on with greek yogurt sweetened with splenda and the Protein Drinks. My fav was French vanilla. Also like the Lipton Diet Green Tea with Citrus. Lynda
  22. Jenny Beth, I hope you are feeling better soon. There was another poster earlier this year who had the same thing. She hated the stent! But she did eventually get better and I hope you do too and soon! Lynda
