  1. It was recommended by the NUt to not ever drink soda again.

As for steak I am 7 weeks out and it is one of the easiest things for me to eat. Started on food at 4 weeks. After 1 week of purees and 2 weeks soft foods. chicken gets stuck, fish gets stuck. So red meat has been my lifeline to Protein goals. I can even eat beef jerkey with no issues. I just make sure I chew, chew, chew. I can only eat about 1.5 - 2 ounces of steak but at least it stays down.

  2. I soooo needed to read this today. I am at a stall for a week now. And even though I know they happen it does get frustrated.

But, I have to look at the bright side I'm 16.5 pounds down since surgery and 37.5 since I started this journey. I fit into jeans that I haven't worn in a year and they are even a little lose. So I guess it's not that bad.

Thank you again I needed to hear it from someone else I guess.

  3. 4 days after surgery I was feeling great and tried to take my 22 pound pug for a walk. Well I did it but he was pulling a bit and it did make my tummy sore. If you have a fenced yard you may be better off. Unfortunatley my yard is not fenced. I didn't walk him again for two days He just had to wait for the kids to get home to walk him or he just went outside the back porch door. It's not impossible but doable. Maybe an area teenager could help for a small fee.

  4. By two days post op I could sleep on my side with a pillow under my belly.

I am a belly sleeper and 7 days out can almoat sleep on my tummy again. Feels a little weird but not painful.

I also sleep better on my back if I can prop pillows under my legs and my head up.

You'll be amazed at how much easier it gets each day out.

  5. Good Luck to everyone who is scheduled for this week. :w00t:

I am 5 days out and woke up feeling great this morning.:lol0: I'm on pureed foods and can get in about one ounce of pureed egg or tuna salad with lite mayo.

Sipping is much easier now. Actually took a few gulps without thinking yesterday and it hurt a little, but not as bad as I thought. Getting in 50+ ounces of Fluid consistently.

Tummy is hardly even sore anymore. Even slept on it a while last night without realizing it.

The first 24 hours was really hard but the hospital was great with the pain and nausea meds. Went home around 36 hours after. I could have stayed an extra day if I wanted because getting fluids in was really hard but I woke up at home the next day and have been sipping ever since.

So far lost 6 pounds post op.

  6. Welcome Fleur De Lis, Who is doing your surgery?

I was sleeved on The 15th by Dr Keith Kim at Celebration Hospital. I feel great today. Been walking and getting my fluids in. Tomorrow I start pureed for a week then soft foods for two weeks. Hardly no pain after 24 hours. Just a bit sore like bruised feeling and gassy. And I cannot take the gas X it actually made me sick. Ever ablt to sleep on my side with a pillow proppeb under my belly.

  7. I will be sleeved tomorrow. I'm getting excited now. Trying to finish up everything around the office before I leave for 12 days. I had my Protein Shake for Breakfast and another with yogurt and Fiber for lunch then just clears for the rest of the day. I also have to have 6 glasses of plain Water between 4 and midnight. There is no way I'm gonna sleep tonight. I'm gonna be too nervous plus I'll be up to pee all night. No other prep needed.

Good Luck to everyone who's in the next few days. I don't know when I'll feel up to being on the computer. I'm hoping to be back home Thursday.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and all the information.
