    keeping your old stomach!

I think that would qualify as one of the wierder questions, but you don't know if you don't ask, right. I don't think they would let you keep a piece. But they may let you have a look at it.
  2. Hi Wedding Planner, I am having surgery with Dr Kim in Celebration. I have been planning my liquids for a week already and think I have bought every sugar free popsicle in town. I do get at least 1 cup of raw veggies a day with a vinagrette fat free dressing. Yeah, Who ever thought I'd get excited about raw veggies? LOL. Who is doing your surgery?
  3. Ok I have Sleep apnea, and am a respiratory therapist. The issues with sleep apnea and any Bariatric Surgery is bigger than it will go away after we lose weight. Yes most people's sleep apnea is atributed to weight but a great deal of people who are thin have it too. When you are sedated and have pain medications this also induces sleep which can be hazardous to your post op recovery if your sleep apnea is not treated. It can cause increased abdominal pressure and put you at greater risk for leaks. Sleep apnea often causes your oxygen levels to decrease to dangerous levels, this prevents your tissues from getting the much needed oxygen to heal. Yes, many people go through surgery without a CPAP and do fine, but many do not. I know I am not willing to risk it. My machine will go with me to the hospital and I will gladly wear it until the weight comes off. I sleep great with or without the machine, never had a complaint about being tired all day or stopping breathing or anything else. Mine was found accidentaly 3 years ago when we where testing new equipment at work and I was 60 lbs less then than I am now. Not meaning to scare or preach, just wanted you to know it's more important than people often realize. Good luck on your journey and much success. Tracey
  4. Crystal light with unflavored protein powder isn't too bad.
  5. I can only imagine how you are feeling. I start my liquid diet on Friday. Didn't even realize that this is labor day weekend and we have an extra day off. Which would usually be great but for us it also means either the beach or theme parks. So I guess I'll be packing a cooler with all my supplies. Good Luck Everyone. Tracey
  6. Congratulations on your upcoming date. I too am in the Orlando area. I start my preop liquids Sept 3rd and have surgery Sept 17. Who is your Doc?

  7. Good luck on your surgery today. Hope you will be up walking and sipping soon.

    Psych Evals

I was told three hours also but it was more like an hour and a half for me. The main points they went over was whether or not you can follow the required post op plan and that you din't have any undiagnosed issues. Like night eating or any alcohol or drug abuse issues. She gave me some information on a book to read about setting Boundaries, in all aspects on my life. Which hey, can't hurt. I am one who does not like conflict and will just go with the flow but I know thats not always the best answer either. Overall, don't worry. Tracey

    September sleevers wanted!

WOOHOO it's September. Just wanted to post a general Good Luck to September sleevers. I know for me it makes surgery so much more of a reality that it's September now. I go for my last pre-op testing, Nutritional consult and metabolic testing tomorrow then 2 week liquid pre-op. All the long wait and hoop jumping has been so worth it to this point. Again GOOD LUCK to everyone, see you on the losers bench. Tracey
  10. Good luck on your preop testing today. I have my pre-op tomorrow.

  11. Silvia, Did you have your surgery yesterday? If so I hope all went well for you. Hopefully today you will be walking and sipping. Keep us posted. Who is your surgeon. You're in my area.

  12. Hope all went well yesterday. I forgot there was an August 31st in the September group. Let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.

  13. Good luck to you today. Keep us posted on your progress.

  14. Good Luck on your surgery today. Wishing you a speedy recovery with little discomfort.

  15. Good luck to you Iowagirl. You'll be up and sipping and walking before you know it.

  16. Good Luck to you today.

  17. Wishing you Good luck tomorrow. You will do great. Keep us posted on your progress.

  18. I think they use your start weight as the determining factor. I lost a few pounds on my 6 month diet plan but they submitted my weight from the first visit as my weight.
  19. I am starting my preop diet of 2 weeks liquid in two weeks. I just got some samples of the unjury protein shakes. The chicken soup was actually good. I think I'll add an extra bullion cube for a little more flavor. But it was smooth, no grittyness at all. Also unjoyed the strawberry shorbet. I think I'll blend this with ice cubes for a good slushy treat. So far UNJURY is my favorite.
  20. I plan on taking before pictures so after surgery when I have the thoughts of "what did I do to myself" I can look back and remember why I did it. Also, Some have suggested that when you don't see the scale move and you are getting frustrated you can take new photos to compare your progress. Good luck to you. Tracey
  21. Good luck, keep us posted. Tracey

    September sleevers wanted!

Silvia, Don't worry about being fit in. Most surgeons I know of here, even general surgeons pad their schedule with extra time for every case so you shouldn't feel like they are squeezing you in. You will do great and just think it's one less week of waiting. I wish my surgeon could move my surgery up but with a two week preop diet being mandatory I don't foresee that happening. Keep us posted. Tracey
  23. Yeah, you are scheduled the same day as me. Where are you having surgery? Do you have any preop diet?

  24. Sorry to hear you had complications. Hope you're feeling better soon.
