Rob' date=' I completely agree with the mantra of "it's more than being thin". I battled obesity for so many years as well, and finally at 33 years of age, I truly feel like I'm living life, and not just coasting through it.Best wishes on getting a date. Have you been tested for insulin resistance? I know a few patients on obesityhelp that struggled dropping weight even with the sleeve ended up being insulin resistant, and needed to be on metformin(i think that's the drug name) for a couple of months post-op until their bodies caught up with them.
Keep us posted ! ! ![/quote']
Tiffykins, Hey. I found your words "I truly feel like I am living life, and not just coasting through it" EXACTLY how I want to feel. I have felt like I have been living life, kinda as a site seer and not a life doer. I feel better everyday I come here and see the support on this site. I get to read to nearly no end and learn more and more.
The diabetes/meds thing...my doctors think I have some form of insulin resistance now - for that I take Actos. It is supposed to make your cells open up to receive the insulin and use it like it is supposed to. I am also on Metaformin (slows the liver from producing sugar) and on Minidiab (stims the pancreas to excrete more insulin). I would be glad to be rid of the whole lot...even if it took me a few months =)
Thanks again for your response - you are a big help =)

Tiff,
I have heard that you can have gallbladder issues with rapid weight loss. Sorry to hear that you were so plagued by it. Percocets didn't help? Wow, definately ask for more pain meds =)
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Be well and may you have a quick, safe, recovery.
