    Skin

I haven't personally used the cream(GNC) but my sister loves it. She is 50 and looks 40. Last time I saw her was about 2 months after she started using it and she had the prettiest glow to her skin and the skin on her neck looks smoother. The only thing I have done besides lotioning up all the time all over with Palmers Coco Butter lotion is to have seaweed clay body wraps done after the birth of my first 2 children and then 3 body wraps after my twins, and I barely have stretch marks. I am some what worried about the loose skin on my tummy after I loose weight. And on my face. I use the Palmers on my face every morning and night.

    April Bandsters!

I am scheduled for April 26th. I start the pre-op diet on April 19th. I am supper excited. I think my kids are excited for me too. We went shopping yesterday and they would see a dress they likes and would say " look mommie you will be wearing that next spring." I said "YES I WILL!!"
  3. I have been reading all these post from those of you just banded and making my shopping list. I have the Protein stuff already...keep it here for my kids that play sports. I still have to get the broths, jello's, heating pads, so on and so on.. This forum has been very helpful.

    Question For The Ladies

I am calling my GYN tomorrow....

    Skin

The loose skin is my biggest fear. I have already had twins and the day I gave birth my waist measured 68 inches. I have stretch marks, but I have seen alot worse than mine. I do use lotion after every bath and always have and I do think it has helped my stretch marks but I still got saggy skin after loosing all that baby weight. I use Palmers Coco Butter lotion and it helps with the stretch marks. I think a good lotion with CQ10 will help with saggy skin. Sirvectin(sp) sold at GNC works great on saggy facial skin but is very pricy. 11 days till surgery....whooohooooo

    10 Days Til' Surgery :)

I worked in the medical field for several years and worked at an Internal Medicine clinic with a few patients where we treated them in their homes and the homes were extremely nasty and stinky and that was my trick for getting into doing my job and not getting sick.........first several times I went into the homes I would puke from the smell, then I started doing the VIC's and it stopped.

    10 Days Til' Surgery :)

I know this is going to sound crazy, but put some Vic's Vapor rub inside your nose and you will not be able to smell the food. If you are seeing the food but smelling the VIC's you will not want to eat it.

    Hi I'm New!!

www.tickerfactory.com After you set you ticker up it will give you the scrip to copy and paste. Just below your ticker will be a box and inside there will be 2 versions of script to copy. Copy the first set of scrips and paste it to your signature on your profile settings and save. That should put the tracker at your signature.

    Just Banded Yesterday

The shoulder pain is from the gas that they put inside to inflat your tummy. Take some gas-x and do not lay flat. If you have a recliner, sleep in it up right. That will keep the gas from moving up in to the shoulder where it can not escape. I haven't been banded yet, but have had 2 other surgerys where they had to fill me with gas. sleeping upright helped the most. It will push the gas back down and out the bottom.. Good Luck, hope you have a better day and night today.

    Question For The Ladies

I was just thinking about my April 26th date and my cycle. I am not liking the timing so very well at this moment, but have worked so hard to get here will not change it for anything. I was thinking of asking my Dr. to give me a light dose of birth control pills to change my cycle to make surgery some what easier without having to deal with issues down there.

    Hi I'm New!!

I am not completely new here. I joined the first time about a year ago when I thought I was getting the lapband done. Things didn't work out that time. I am now scheduled for my lapband on April 16, 2012. I am so excited. I did manage to loose 40 lbs on my own after my first visit to the lapband surgeon and then started gaining it back slowly. So I would say I am down 20lbs on my own. I start the pre-op diet on April 19. I only have to do it for 1 week before my surgery. Its so funny to be scared and excited at the same time. Nice adrenalin rush I have been on since my lapband date has been set. I wish everyone here the best of luck.

    Starving

I worked at a weightloss center for 2 years and one thing I can tell you about the Protein shakes is to make sure you are getting the highest amount of protein. Some of the Protein Shakes only have 20 or so grams of protein and that isn't enough to make you feel full. Also make sure you had the chopped ice into the shake, it will give it a thicker consistancy and make you feel fuller longer. I haven't worked at that clinic in over a year, and they had a sugar-free Protein Shake that had 39gms of protein in every serving. I want to get that one, but do not want to go in that place to get it. I am thinking about sending in a friend to get it. Good luck on your journey..

    Starving

I am also scheduled for my lapband on April 26, but I do not start my pre-op diet until April 19th. I wonder why some doctors make you do the diet for 2 weeks and some for 1 week. I will say one thing about this week. I have been eating way to much. More than normal and I think it is a mental thing. I know that in a week I will be on the pre-op diet and my brain is thinking I need to eat up the good stuff. (atleast what my brain thinks of as good). I feel sorry for my children next week. I know if I cant be eating it I wont want to be cookin it. Anyone say "takeout" ?

    Forbidden Food Syndrome

I enjoyed reading your post. I am scheduled for lapband April 26, and ever since I was givin the instructions for my pre-op week diet, I have been starving. Wanting and eating everything in sight. Although I am overweight, I have never been one to just pig out all the time. I have even been planning a weekend of eating a few of my favorite foods which require me to travel nearly an hour. I have become a crazed eater overnight and I dont like it.

    new to this site

I am in the journey from consult to approval. I have completed the supervised weightloss, the Phys Eval, the Nutritanist, now my PCP is wanting me to have a sleep study, which I am not looking forward to. After the sleep study is done, and I will have to wait for insurance approval. During this time, I have been trying to cut out caffine and COKE. I dont think I will miss any one food, but I will miss my morning COCA COLA....any suggestions?
