Leslie, sounds great how well your doing, so glad you got that hernia fixed as well during that time!!

Melissa, I sooo felt that positive vibe from so close today! thanks for that extra support! The entire appt was from about 11am to 3:30pm for me. It included, labs, ekg, hospital paperwork, picking out the pre op foods, vitals and before pictures and of course the nutrition class. Lots of info and bought a few extras!

then of course ran across the state line to the Gap outlet and did some well deserved retail therapy ( can't wait till I can buy new for me -- next time!)

Time for me to put away all that food, have a great night and thanks for all the support everyone!

Hi Ashley, Congrats on your and your hubby's sleeves!! I'm going in today for final nut class with Dr Curry also...what did you think of Journey lite?

22 pounds is great!! (so is 30 on hubby!)

Suzanne, your so supportative and even made me cry this morning....gee got to love the emotions! Thank you again!! I'm leaving in a few to have my final nut appt and consent appt. Oh and all the fun of getting my pro op diet..ughh not yummy.

I am leaving in about an hour to Cincy to have my final consent appt and the nutrition class and get that yummy (not) LOL food for my preop diet. I have UHC as my secondary insurance and Aetna as my primary. I was approved in less than 2 weeks. Good luck to you in hearing very soon!

I have found if you go to the manager at a grocery store you can ask them if they are willing to carry the foods you are wanting to buy. Most of the time they are willing to get a little in for you. Never hurts to try that option.

SmokyMtngal, the knoife in the cup is a great idea and love the note on the fridge..i'm a very visual person also.

thanks you (and thanks everyone!) I had already had a 6 month supervised diet from almost 2 years ago and my medical history (i have a BMI of 40 and Hypertension) and they had the info for about a week, asked for more info ( not sure what Amy at Dr Curry's office sent them that time) but they approved me.

Ok I have been approved for surgery, have my final appt this thursday 07/14 and start my pre-op diet next monday. Surgery is August first!! I'm trying to figure out what the best way to remember to STOP drinking at meals. Seems like I am always grabbing something to drink and after the meal...going UGHHHH i did it again. I want to start this habit now but tend to forget all the time, even going back to get something to drink when i don't initially get anything? Any help?

I have no insight for you either, only that i have read these forums for weeks now. I also am being sleeved on August 1st ( about 2.5 weeks) and am totally scared and completely excited at the very same time. I wish us both good luck in our future!

I"m Gayle and I've been approved for Surgery with Dr Trace Curry in Cincy. I live in the Columbus area. Next thursday the 24th i have my final consent visit ( ekg, Labs and final Nut class) and am scheduled for Surgery on August 1st.

Today i got the eagerly awaited call for surgery. Was approved last week and knew this was comming. I have my Date....It's August 1st 2011!!!! So happy and so many of you had no idea I've been lurking in your post, reading and reading!!! Thank you for supporting me even thought we have never spoke but now it's the time to shout it out that my date is comming and i'm going to need lost more support now!!

well I got my answer today and i got my APPROVAL!!!!!!!. I'm so excited about this and will get another call in about a week after all sign off and get my surgery date!! Thsi is amazing and i can't beleive it's really going to happen!

Ok so I called the office of Dr Curry today to move my nutrition appointment up a few hours and decided to be brave and ask if they heard anything from the Insurance company (Aetna). They said they got a request on the 8th for "more information" which was promptly sent in (yeah Dr curry's office staff!!) So my question is...might is be looked at as a good thing if they didn't outright reject my claim?

I'm of course hoping that's the news. My question comes into play is that i had a physiocian supervised diet in the past but they only made you come every 2 months. So thinking i was going to have to do yet another 3 to 6 month supervised diet.

So once again i wait but now know i didn't get an immediate rejection!

Any opinions on this??

Hey Leslie! Glad to meet you. Can you tell me how far out they had to book you after you got all your "ducks in a row"? I forgot to ask when they were booking out. Like does it usually take then weeks/months to get you in ?

Hello all, I had my initial consult with Dr Trace Curry in Cincy last wednesday. Met the crew of people and now doing the dreaded insurance wait. Not sure if they will take my older physician monitored weight loss program so might have to do that again. If not, then it's just finding out how much they cover and how much i need to pay. Hello everyone, I'm a 44 year old woman who, like so many other is done with the yoyo dieting and weight fluxuation. I am meeting Dr Trace Curry in Cincinnatti Ohio on May 25th for my initial work up. I have seen several of you have seen him and had procedures done by him. He comes highly recommended and i am anxiously awaiting the outcome of 2 insurances to find out if i'll qualify for the sleeve i want. I wanted/needed a support group to help me get through these initial time all the way through the celebrations of success and for advise in every step along the way.

I have 3 kids by a previous marriage and will be married in Nov this year to my loving finance. I live in Columbus Ohio area and work as an RN in the Informantics department of my hospital helping creat the electronic medical record.

I'm not sure what else to say for now so i'll start with this and hope all luck and well wishes!
