  1. Ladies, I am in the same boat and HATE my arms! BAT wings don't even start it for me. I bought one of the shirts with sleeves and LOVE IT!! It's by maiden form and it was pretty cheap for what they are. They made me look so much thinner in my arms. It's a compression also because i can see the seam imprint on my arn when i take them off but it's lightweight and confortable. I'll send the link but to let you know, I found one on ebay for a few less dollars!

    Good luck!!

  2. I hated the medifast pre-op and will not try it again. Please give your body some time. I know it' shard. I stalled at day 9 for 4 weeks and 3 days and started to loose again after that. It's a rough hall and once it's moving again, you will feel so much better, try measurments and see ifyour losing inches while in thsi stall. It's really ormal and some people ahve 3 day stalls and other have up to 6 weeks. Just keep doing as your doctor said on the diet and check with your Nut to see if it's all going ok..if so...then your just in a stall.

also try on a pair of pants from pre surgeryand see how it feels in them..are they HUGE?

Good luck..it's so very hard dealign with a stall but know this ...as your body converts fat to muscle and has to ragain back the Water needed for that process, if you not gaining weight, your losing inches.

  3. I was wondering after reading a post Tiffykins posted, what everyone enjoyed as a sweet treat. Not talking aobut junk food, but something you are enjoying that's healthy, high Protein or low carb or all of the above. Loved her idea of a frozen greek yogurt that's sweetened. So what else do you enjoy when you have a sweet tooth??

  4. I actually quoted that article to several people too. I'ts informative and insightful. I was wondering though if there were patterns of times over the years when you see more of the people here have very early stalls (perhaps duing the first week after surgery) for long periods of time..greater then 3 weeks.

Just kind of wondered if it was cyclical ..like full moons and lots of weird patients in the hospital ( for us nurses)

  5. It seems like (although i have only been here a few months) that there is a lot of early stalls. Like before the typical "3 week stall" So any opinions on why we are not losing weight initially? I mean if we are tracking everything, eating right and exercising and all looks good why are some of us having weeks of no weight loss. Worse off some of us have stopped so early on we feel like we are waiting for the surgery weight loss to start.

I know I had surgery August 2nd and lost a total of 13 pounds the first week. then nothing since the 9th of august. I feel like ...ok so when will the weight loss start. I have lost 13 pounds in a month..many times over...i eat high Protein, low carb, tons of Water and exercise..my nut says..keep on going..yet...we wait for it to start again..or start at all.

I know it's frustrating but anyone see this over time..periods when people just don't loose weight initially at all, then long stalls then ...what? does it eventually kick in? go fast? drop slowly...?

    any opinions on this?

  6. I'm so sorry your going through the exact same thing as me.. surgery august 2nd and 13 pounds gone till 7 days after surgery, on august 10th I stalled and as of today, still no weight loss. I have heard everyone say it all..my nut says my Protein, Water, carbs are all perfect but no weight loss and some measurements are even bigger then before....the only hope I can offer, is I'm here with you...I know exactly what you feel and I can hope for us both. I'm sorry again and hope we both loose soon!

  7. Texas mon, I totally understand where you are and how you feel. This is my one month anniversary of surgery and I've not lost anything since day 9. It's frustrating and annoying and you want and perhaps do SCREAM your head off!! Everyone I talk to ( in my surgeons office) tells me..its normal, don't worry...bla bla bla.....i can repete it to everyone but it doens't change the way you feel about it not working. It is working, your still loosing inches and it just takes time. One post i read said...if you take your pre op weight (including the pre op diet...way at the beginning) take that weight and your goal weight and see what's the difference...(total weight loss). The artical sayd you are on track if you lost 30-35% of your total weight loss by month 3. and 1/2 by month 6 then so on....

So by looking at your tracker. Starting weight - goal weight times .3 or .35 = (if your tracker is right... 30 -35 pounds should be lost by 3 months out. that's by OCTOBER 11....GIRL...LOOK at that...you have lost 32.6% of your total weight to be lost in LESS that 2 months!

WOW SUPER JOB!!!!! see your right on track and even early with the weight loss!!!!!

( i had to do this for me to feel better...too)

HOPE I helped make your day!!!!

  8. I went to the surgeon's office friday and just cried. I told them i'm so sick of being so tried i can barely function. I'm normally perky to the point of nausea! the Nut told me i looked very pale and tired..gee thanks!

My 2 biggest complaints were tiredness and the (now 27 day) menstrual cycle...(sorry TMI) The GYN's office took a week to call me back (after i called 3 times) to tell me they wanted to put me on an antibiotic since i must have an infection....nope just got off a course of antibiotics for a REAL infection in my incision site..but noone asked me. She said she'd check with the doc again and call me back. At 3pm on fridays they shut off their phones and your Out of luck till monday. My surgeons NP insisted i call the "doc on call" and demand they do something after a week of no information. I did and they have put me on birthcontrol (3 a day initially for 3 days then 2 a day for 3 days then one till the end of the pack).

So i ask the nut if i was eating enough Protein, low carbs, exercising ok and what not...she insisted i was doing everyhting to the T perfect....yet not lost any weight since 9 days after surgery (this friday it will be one month since surgery). They seem to think that this 27 day cycle is holding back my weight loss...GREAT!

They drew bloodwork and called me today to tell me I have low Iron leverls ( shocker...) and upped my Iron to double what i was taking and increase my B12 to 4 times a week form 1 time a week and keep up the hard work.....

i'm frustrated with my body...knowing how angry it is with the sleeve, the hernia repair and the cycle form hell.....but it's got to start giving up the weight soon ( i am praying)!

Frustration...frustrations...frustrations...but all i can do at this point is keep on keeping on....

sorry i guess this turned into a HUGE rant and i should have posted this to rants...but i guess i'm a lucky person compared to people with leaks and major health concerns...got to keep the positive thoughts going!
