  4. I have yet to have the surgery. I am day two of the pre-op diet (YEAH). I can tell you that I felt very similar to you. My journey for this type of WLS started a year ago. I was scheduled to have it done last August, but cancelled because I just wanted more info. Unfortunately, these websites are excellent for hearing people's stories, but a poor place for facts. There are some excellent research papers about GSP done by the Cleveland Clinic. They were very informative and good to read. Ultimately between these educational papers and a brother (a doctor) who has talked me back off from the ledge, gave me the strength to follow through with the surgery. If your like me, don't believe everything you here and do your own research. You have to do what you are comfortable with and realize that all of the surgeries have risks.
  5. Hello all. I am a first time poster (obviously), but new to any of the talk sites. I thought it was fitting that I am finally scheduled for my plication May 17th and this site comes along. SO I thought I better post. It has been a long journey. I was supposed to go in for the surgery twice before and talked myself out of it because of fear of the unknown. I like you, have spent 12 months trying to get any and all information on this procedure. I am so pleased to see a site like this where people can come talk to others who may have gone through it. I have read many posts on the vertical sleeve talk site and am so grateful for those that posted there. I hope to relay my experience as I move forward. I start my pre-op diet in 3 days and it is starting to get very nerve racking.
