  1. Well, to be totally honest....I did worry quite a bit that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the foods I love. And there is quite a list of things i can't have right now because I am very tight. But I expect to someday be able to loosen it up and enjoy just about anything once again. The upside is that food has lost a lot of importance for me... and that is a very good thing.
  2. Yeah, that's what they count on!!!
  3. Good morning all! WELCOME, Angela!! Are you from Houston?? Cool! Wish i could stay and chat...but I have about 30 powerpoint slides to edit this a.m. I'll be in when i need a break. Laterz.
  4. ****QUESTION**** How long do you guys take to eat a meal? I mean, do you keep eating until you feel full...no matter how long it takes? Or.. Do you quit eating when you're pre-measured food is gone? Or.. Do you quit after 20 minutes? Or what? I am finding that I often will eat and eat until I feel satisfied...that may take an hour!! For instance, last night I was hungry for some MEAT! since my last fill I just know I'm not getting enough protein. So I went to a BBQ place and got a chopped beef over a smallish baked potato. It tasted so good and I was determined to get that meat in!! So I sat there and read a book while I was eating (alone) and chewing the heck out of that meat before I swallowed! When I finally did check the time almost an hour and fifteen minutes had passed!!! I had finished about 2/3 of the meal in front of me...maybe 3 oz of beef and 1/2 c of potato. Am I just eating too much???
  5. Oh, there are several people on here who were denied SEVERAL times for various reasons. I can't remember her name now, but I remember one lady who was denied 5 times...and on her 5th appeal they finally approved her. The lesson is DO NOT GIVE UP until you've exhausted all avenues. Insurance companies will indeed sometimes make it very difficult.
  6. My only concern is losing it for some reason. I love love love my band.
  7. I used to.... but now I'm back into my old routine of sitting on my ass. Grrrrrrrr. When my trainer moved to another gym it just sent me into a spiral from which I have not recovered. Bleh. Oh, and I've basically stopped losing weight ...maybe a pound a month now.
  8. I am so sorry to hear of your cousins' deaths! That is so horrible! I can imagine how your family just might have an issue with this surgery!! We can only point out the obvious...that this surgery is much less invasive than gastric bypass and is totally reversible. Have you ever done research into low-carb dieting to help with PCOS? There are very good results with it...amazing ones, actually.
  9. I'm nervous, too. I hope you're OK. But you know we'll all be praying for you and I'll get my MIL to pray for you too...she's got a direct connection!! I swear she prayed my Mom right out of ICU!! What's "preen"? Damn, I'm old. Doesn't it just blow your mind when you have to move a heavy box like that and realize how much weight you used to carry around??? DANG, no wonder you were in pain, Laura! That's just a distant memory now, ain't it? :biggrin2: That's so great. Did you have a nooner too??? What the heck did you drink?? How many kittens are you getting?? I love kitties. I think you ought to splice it with one of your current pics and put THAT in the digital frame. You don't even look like the same person. O.M.G. Nothin' going on in my world. Same ol' same ol'. That's not always a bad thing! Oh! My boss is gone for the next TWO WEEKS!! So I'll be hanging out witchu guys! Lucky you! Where is Denise (Adorable)???????
  10. Yeah, Haydee's picking up IAH because she lives very close to the airport. Tracy, you're picking up the late San Antonio crowd.
  11. Remote control came out about the same time birth control did. Coincidence?
  12. Car Bingo, anyone?? Yes. I remember being desperate to hear Mississippi Queen (know what I mean?)
  13. SEE!!?? A NOONER!!! You can't fool us! Oh. But you DO wax them right??? Do people call you "UniBrow"? LOL... that would be bad. I wish I could borrow somebody's puppy and bring it home. DH would SO believe that I'd do something like that...and he'd be seething on the inside but be nice enough about it. LOL It's almost worth it.
  14. Thanks Alex.... I think that's probably best. It's a good idea, just doesn't really work in reality.
  15. Alex actually IS a genius!... who is constantly trying to improve our experience here. It's probably just an optional feature that he thought he'd try out to see if we like it. I'm just weighing in....so to speak.
  16. Those are YANKEE margaritas!! We make 'em for REAL down here in Texas, girlfriend!!
  17. Sorry.... it just bothers the heck out of me. Now i feel like i have to go back and re-read my post just to make sure it hasn't "corrected" my words! :puke:
  18. There is Burnett's, Seagrams, Smirnoff, Three Olives and UV Grape Vodka at the liquor store where i shop. Any of those do ya? What size bottle(s)? LOL
  19. And you notice the biggest ommission of all is vinyl records and 8 track tapes!! Our first CD player was $800.
  20. When she types "pair" it comes up "Page Ranking".... isn't that just the weirdest thing ever?? I liked the conversation about donuts and cinammon rolls better. Can we go back to that? :puke: Now THAT is funny!!!
  21. I agree with everything Kat said...especially: Document EVERYTHING Things will get much worse before they get any better. Be prepared to demonstrate the patience of Jobe...for your daughter's sake. Practice saying this a zillion times in front of the mirror: "Talk to your lawyer." In other words, don't get into fights with him that you know will be fruitless. Just makes your blood pressure go up and involves your daughter in battles she doesn't need to hear. Divorce is a terribly nasty process under the best of circumstances, even when both parties agree it's for the best. Be very sure you are mentally and emotionally prepared to go the distance. However bad you think it might get....multiply that by 10 and that is closer to reality. Hate to say it, but don't count on getting child support. There's a helluva lot of deadbeat dads out there. I'm just saying that when you consider your housing situation, don't count on that child support being there....it very well may not be. Don't buy a house that you can't pay for yourself. don't sign any expensive long-term leases. Sorry to be such a pessimist. Better to err on the side of caution. Good luck to you, sweetie. We're here for you.
  22. THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!! When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet . If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!! There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter .with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there! There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister! We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'a steroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE! When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed! Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was n o Cartoon Network eit h er! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards! And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire .. imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot. That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980! Regards, The over 30 Crowd
  23. Are you COMPLAINING.....AGAIN??? ROFL!
  24. Jenn, the Hilton has a bar... rooms are $169/night. That's some expensive cocktails!!Hilton San Antonio Texas Hotel - San Antonio Airport Hotel - San Antonio, TX hotels Laura, Haydee's picking you up.
  25. Jenn....you're getting into SA at 10:40....by the time you get to your hotel it will be 11:15! If you need a drink that bad, get one at the airport! LOL I have no idea about bars in the area of the airport, I'm not from there .... maybe the people at the desk can suggest something.
